THE FINAL round of Champions League group games kick off tonight with several teams still needing a result.
I've posted a separate preview of the Group B games between Celtic and Anderlecht and will another covering the other games and going through who needs what to finish top, qualify or make the Europa League. Reasoning for my Top Treble is there.
There's not much else – goals bets only are advised for the EFL Trophy play-offs – while in Scotland there is one game in League Two between Stirling and Peterhead.
It's second v third and whoever wins goes top but only one of these sides are in form. Stirling have won two out of seven while the Blue Toon have won seven in a row. Albion were 4-2 victors at Peterhead when they were on top of their game early in the campaign and their form explains a best price of 12-5.
I hoped Peterhead would be a better price than 10-9 at 188Bet but I'm willing to take it as a Super Single. Star striker Rory McAllister has netted 13 in seven games and is worth a look at 3-1 with McBookie to score first.
Last night Wolves won at Birmingham to bring up my 13-10 Super Single double but Slough and Portimonense failed to net on the goals double.

Hull cheers mate just trying to keep up with your consistency ? good luck with your tip later I’m sure a fair few will be on it.
I have had a review of my bets so far as it seems to be more up and down this season compared to last. Last season I will in profit from the off and just kept slowly increasing it. This season it’s been a lot more erratic. Bad start then back in good profit then back to negative again. The main difference this time I feel is the number of selections. Didn’t have as many last season. Was more singles doubles and some trebles and the very occasional Yankee bet. Some will have noticed I have had a fair few of them already this season so I have made the section that less is actually more. So will be concentrating more on keeping the selections to a minimum and hopefully get back to the slow increase again to get back in profit. That’s the aim from here until the end of the season to have a + figure. Better to have a slow steady upward curve if possible that a rollercoaster type one. Will see how it goes
@wato – interested to know whether you follow the same selection criteria as last year? Is it a case of using the stats to narrow it down to a handful of possible games using whatever your system is, then select from those using other info / gut feeling?
I would’ve thought that you’d have the same chances in the long run even if putting slightly more bets on, providing they all meet what your system looks for. As you know, I like your picks and quite often follow. I prefer to put more on the singles and less on the multiples however (proportionally).
Just thinking out loud really, it’s interesting what you’re saying about the change from last season. You’re also betting on more/different leagues of course, although not sure that would make any difference to consistency unless there are less stats and other information to look at for those leagues e.g. injuries / suspensions / key players, weather, travel distance, local rivalries etc. Perhaps more leagues to look at makes it harder to pick the best selections, in the same way that so many of us struggle on a Saturday with a big card!
Dunno but anyway, best of luck for the rest of the season, hope the profits role in!

@liamw cheers mate. I’ve just checked again and from August to May I only placed 3 Yankee bets during all that time. So far since 18 July I have placed 15!!! I felt I was using pretty much the same system since the short break in between seasons but obviously if I am going with more selections then maybe this time I have been focusing on the stats more and when they have met the criteria just went with them. So either the criteria hasn’t been as strict as it was or I haven’t been as selective with the selections. I feel it has to be both so will be changing those. Those Yankee bets although great when you win one as I did a few weeks ago to get back into profit the other ones have then taken the profit away again. It says it all when I have placed that many Yankee bets and only won from less than a handful. Interesting you mentioned “gut feeling” I think I tended to use that more last season whereas this one it’s been mainly stats based. Most days I end up with a decent sized list of games and then it’s cutting them down. Clearly haven’t been cutting them down enough and just going with the top 4 stats based selections. Getting 3 from 4 or a full house is a lot to ask where as having less selections gives you more chance to profit and probably more importantly less or manageable losses. I’m not ditching the staking process I have I feel it’s good (inspired by Johnb’s horse racing strategy) and if and when I feel I do have 4 selections that I am fairly confident with I will still go with it just a lot less often going forward. Sorry if I went on a bit there mate lol. It is showing me though that having less bets clearly helps and all part of the discipline part required for this game. Below is the monthly totals I had from August to May. Was never in a negative (maybe much better luck back then) but I definitely think it’s more to do with the above comments. This time is the opposite a lot more down then up then down again. Of course it could swing back up again the way I was going but I want a more gradual line (if possible)

Besiktas is already guaranteed the group leadership at the end of the fifth match. This is going to be a formality travel to Germany where home team Leipzig has to win [which is not enough for Leipzig] and wait Porto drops a point against Monaco where little chance still stands to qualify and i bet worths the fight till the last whistle.
Besiktas announced big rotation in their squad ; surely 5 regular players Pepe , Quaresma , Ryan Babel , Atiba , Tolgay will not play against Leipzig.
Jeremain Lens , Negredo , Gary Medel , Mitrovic r some of the players going to play who are also not that bad choices.

I could see Celtic being 2-0 or 3-1 winners tonight. I can’t ignore odds of 16/1 for Lustig and Tierney Anytime Goalscorer. They’ve a good chance as any and my favourite player Lustig is due a goal. Tierney is also playing well and likes an attempt on goal. I’ll back both for First Goalscorer too at 40/1 but for me the value is in Anytime Goalscorer. The 16/1 quoted is double the odds of the next best price. Crazy price in my opinion. You always take your chances with defenders scoring but for me firing £50 on both is £100 well spent.
Another bet I like the look of is btts in both halves for the Bayern Munich vs PSG game. This to me looks a dead very. Try the same with Real Madrid vs Dortmund tomorrow and also Zulte vs Lazio on Thu. I’m on tonight’s game as a single but I’ll also have small stakes on the doubles and treble.
