Top Football Tips

EINTRACHT were the stars of the show last night with a 7-1 trouncing of Fortuna and I reckon they'd have been on most accas at a decent price.

They were on my Top Treble but sadly that was beaten by Middlesbrough winning at Sheffield Wednesday.

Results weren't great elsewhere with French Ligue 2 being a bit short of goals for Greg but well done to anyone who picked a winner.

I've posted VIP tip which are mainly long shots and here are the top tips which are mostly reasoned in the Scottish and English previews.

From Frankfurt I go to Fife with East Fife the Super Single at home to Brechin in League One. The Fifers have been in great form and the most impressive thing about their victory against Championship side Queen of the South last week was shutting out the prolific Stephen Dobbie.

Remember to check out the excellent welovebetting site for their tips and video chat.

    KILMARNOCK to WIN 17/20
    EDINBURGH -2 1/1
    TRANMERE over 1.5 tgs 11/8
    COLCHESTER over 1.5 tgs 1/1
    EXETER over 1.5 tgs 6/5
    NEWPORT over 1.5 tgs 5/4
    LINCOLN over 1.5 tgs 4/6, over 2.5 tgs 9/4
    BRADFORD over 2.5 mgs 19/20

    Summary:
Kilmarnock have a canny habit of taking care of business against sides outside of ‘big 5’ in league ( a match for anyone at Rugby Park ) thus Clarke’s boys will travel to second bottom St Mirren full of confidence having notched 6 goals , 4 of which were against much stronger opposition, in last 3 on the road, in the knowledge the saints have only beaten basement boys Dundee, and have since failed to score!

EDINBURGH continued upon their winning trend midweek dismissing Arbroath in the Challenge Cup, adding to their already magnificent league form! I know more about the ‘Bay City Rollers’ than the ‘Civil Service Strollers’ but if -2 sits well with Mr F then I’m on board!

Tranmere are in good form at present and on their travels scoring against league ‘strugglers’ is a common trend, ( let alone top 7 sides ) notching 2 at Swindon, 2 at Carlisle and 4 at Morecambe! Thus far they’ve notched up goals in all 6 away fixtures! Opponents tomorrow Yeovil have been hit by ‘major players’ injuries including skipper Sowunmi, in which coincides conceding 10 in last 4 fixtures! Their last 3 home games have seen them leak 6 goals, Tranmere will look to exploit these current trends!

Colchester have only won 1 game on the road, but have scored in last 5, 3 at Cheltenham and Oldham the stand out stats! Morecambe have won 3 of their last 5, but upon closer scrutiny their winning performances have come against bottom Macclesfield, struggling Grimsby, and ‘can’t score at home’ Carlisle! On home soil, apart from at the time a very poor Cobblers outfit, they’ve conceding in every game, Exeter, Oldham and Tranmere have enjoyed 2+ at the Globe Arena, Colchester will expect something similar!

Exeter travel to Grimsby having scored in all bar one away fixtures ( Mk dons ) . Scoring 2 has been a regular pattern, and they will expect this to continue against a poor home side, who have only stopped the opposition from scoring once in 6 home games!

Having backed Crawley several times on home soil, it’s been very apparent the chances they’ve offered up to opponents, most notably Yeovil and Cambridge whom failed to take advantage! Newport have navigated themselves through a tough away fixture list, scoring in last 5 against good opposition including Tranmere, Exeter and Forest Green, this is coupled with not conceding often ( 3 in 5 )! Broadfield’s maybe a welcome visit for the Welsh side!

Said several times Lincoln are always worth backing, and with Cambridge leaky defence goals look appealing for the league leaders! Cambridge have been producing plenty of chances but to date are failing to score of late! ( note, they led Newport by 2 until defensive calamity set in )

Bradford have hit 4 past Rochdale on last two visits! Goals follow Rochdale on their travels! Expecting well over 2.5 mgs!

    FC Augsburg vs RB Leipzig

    Augsburg Over 1.5 TG
    5/4
    Sky – 4 Points

    Alfred Finnbogason
    Anytime Goalscorer
    17/10
    Betway – 2 Points

For me, Augsburg offer a tad of value this weekend and the welcome return of Finnbogason only boosts there hopes of converting chances into goals. The Icelandic international has 4 goals in 2 games and will relish the prospect of coming up against this fragile RB defence. Leipzig have conceded 6 in 3 away from home while Augsburg have netted 7 in there last 2 following the strikers return. RB are a side that like to play out from the back and are prone to errors and giving the ball away in dangerous areas when a decent press is utilised. I have witnessed this on multiple occasion this season. There is no doubting Augsburg will get there chances in this fixture especially on the counter attack against this inexperienced defence and my hope is that these get converted to goals.

Friday night’s more ambitious effort never really got going with some peculiar stats coming from the game in Austria in particular. There isn’t a lot about tomorrow’s card that particularly appeals to my usual inclinations, either.

I do like the look of goals when Taunton visit Billericay but it’s priced up fairly short. In fact, there is a lot to like on the card until you see the prices. BTTS at Stalybridge is priced up mightily short, while goals from either side look likely at Luzern v Thun but the prices aren’t tempting me in. I’m also pretty sweet on the Sparta Prague women handing out a spanking, but Bet365 go O6.5 as their line. It’s actually pretty fair, but Sparta only managed 5 at bottom side Kralove last time out, so that tempers enthusiasm a little.

Instead, my rambling has led me to just the one effort that I could do with landing.

    Concord v Dover
    Sosnowiec v Legnica
    Arbroath v Dumbarton

    It’s good to be back!

Had to take some time away from the site and the football as I lost the “fun” part of the game and it all became too serious. Never a nice place however it is good to be back and enjoying the sport we all love! I have learned a lot with my time away but I’m glad to return. Keeping it simple and the stakes low.

    East Fife to score
    Sunderland to score

    0.6/1 – £10 returns £16

Nice and love stakes. Bit of fun and hopefully a nice cheeky Saturday takeaway with the winnings!

Hey guys, first time i’ve posted in a long while. Been on a big holiday for the last month around the UK and other parts of Europe. First time I’d ever been to Scotland, and it was amazing. Loved every bit of my time there, even walked right past the hq for the Daily Record. Beautiful part of the world, and I’ll definitely be returning!

Anyway… the A-League returned yesterday, but I missed the game as I was stuck in immigration… sounds like I didn’t miss much!

    Melbourne Victory v Melbourne City:

Today sees the return of the Melbourne derby as the newly renamed Marvel Stadium (yeah it’s a crappy name). Victory have added Keisuke Honda and Ola Toivonen to their ranks, as well as Niedermeier, Corey Brown, Storm Roux, Raul Baene. Deng is also expected to feature after his Socceroos duty. It is worth noting that key attacker Berisha has left the club (for Sanfrecce Hiroshima in the J-League). Victory are once again looking (on paper) as one of the strongest teams heading into the new season… which often means nothing in my crazy league.

City have made a number of changes heading into the season, bringing in De Laet & Mark Birighitti in defence, and promising young player McGree. City are missing a number of fringe players through injury and international duty, but the majority of their key players are available. Also worth noting that Daniel Arzani has now left the club for Celtic.

I reckon Victory’s attacking prowess should dominate in most games this season, and this opener should be no different.

    Tips:
    Over 2.5 goals @ 1.95
    Victory win & over 2.5 goals @ 3.50
    Victory – over 1.5 team goals @ 2.10

A league continues tonight and a exciting game in prospect between the two teams from Melbourne. Victory have signed a quality player in Japanese international Honda and Toivanan from Sweden (who may be injured) but with Bruno Fornarolli leading the line for City and ex rangers man Michael O halloran don’t rule the sky blues out of this one.
4 of last 5 have seen btts and overs and while I think this will land I think Victory have made slightly better signings and as reigning champs will be keen to get off to a flyer.

    O2.5 and btts is $2.20 4 points

    Morning gents,

Destination Essex for me today and I’ve squeezed Craneguy into a pair of white stilletos and an old XR3i so he fits in with the Billericay massive – says he’s not been this excited since Stage 3 of his transgender realignment op…

    BILLERICAY VS. TAUNTON:

Two teams at the top of their respective divisions come head to head here and I suspect goals may be on the menu; it may not be a repeat of the hosts 9-1 cup demolition of Whitehawk (Sh*tehawk) 2 weeks ago but I think both sides will contribute to the tally.

Taunton may play in the ‘3rd Step’ of non-league football but will be a tough test for Billericay after destroying St Albans 5-2 in the previous round – this is a big game for both sides with the victors sealing a place in the FA Cup first-round proper so passions will be high and Taunton will be looking for a repeat of their 2017 FA Cup run which saw them reach that magical first round!

23 goals in 11 league matches show Taunton’s attacking threat and the fitness levels of the squad were described as “phenomenal” by outgoing manager Leigh Robinson; with a strong midfield unit, the travelling side should provide plenty of challenge to a tired looking Billericay who may still be without star striker Ricky Modeste.

One selection I like the look of and it’s a (calculated) gamble so stakes need to reflect that:

    TAUNTON +2 H/CAP
    (PaddyPower)
    🌟🌟🌟

    Best of luck 👍

    • leroy 6 years ago

Interesting take on the game, Hull. Big Matty Wright returning will be big for Taunton and he netted midweek. He will cause problems at any non league side. I do hope Taunton give a good account of themselves, and if ‘ricay aren’t at it, then they are good enough to capitalise. St Albans were honestly woeful in the previous round, but Taunton more than capitalised on that occasion.

Gutted it’s not a home game as I would’ve been down there. Good luck mate!

    • HullShaker 6 years ago

Afternoon Leroy sir – didn’t know you were a Taunton lad – what’s your take on the game/my selection?

Just seemed everything I’ve read points to a strong Taunton performance and at a big price around 7/1 hence the handicap ‘value’.

Appreciate your thoughts and good luck👍

    • leroy 6 years ago

Sorry, @hullshaker – got to this one a little late. Goals are flowing as we’d expected, and 2-2 at HT is looking good for your selection. I put up a big write up for the St Albans game in the last round and anticipated Taunton coming out on top that day. As for today, I expected a Billericay win but with goals aplenty for either side. My issue was not knowing which Billericay side would turn up – if they weren’t at it, and Taunton were, then your selection seems bang on. So for me, goals were likely, the result I couldn’t be sure on.

Sadly, goals had 0 value so I left the game alone. Seems like Taunton have managed to step up that extra level in a big game again, though. Fingers crossed your selection wins – and personally, I hope it wins comfortably enough to see the Peacocks through!

2 teams that I think look value today

    Luton V WALSALL

Walsall are unbeaten away from home so far this season winning 4 and drawing the other 2.
Luton are also strong at home but at odds of 17/4 to win just looks too big imo.

    Walsall +1 6/5
    Walsall win 17/4 half stake

    bury v NOTTS CO.

County had a dreadful start to the season but are now unbeaten in 5 winning their last 3 and can hopefully keep that run going today against bury who have drawn their last 3

    Week 4 of Hearts/Hibs challenge ..

    So far…
Week 1 – no return (0-0 Hearts v Livingston the let down: on another day could’ve been 4/5-1 – Dundee 0-3 Hibs)

    Week 2 – £10 stake; £16.95 return – 1 /2 (St Mirren 0-1 Hibs; Hearts 2-1 St Johnstone)

    Week 3 – £10 stake; £11.36 return – 1/2 (Hibs 6-0 Hamilton; Rangers 3-1 Hearts

    Week 4
Celtic v Hibs – Hibs win
    Hearts v Aberdeen – >2.5 mgls

    19.7/1

    Celtic v Hibs – > 2.5 mgls
Hearts v Aberdeen – Hearts win

    3.72/1

Ladbrokes odds – £5 on each.

The odds for both Hearts /Hibs improve greatly when they play away in Glasgow, and Hibs are a very attractive 8 or 9/1 to win. Celtic are improving now, and Griffiths has had his break to get his fitness back and to get out of his alleged cream puff over the National team issue; coupled with Hibs attacking options and the ability to score freely, this game has the makings of BTTS and certainly over 2.5 goals; last season they gave Celtic some of their toughest matches ; especially at Parkhead, so who knows.
On the Jambos front, we’ve suffered a double injury setback with Souttar and Uche Ikpeazu out till early 2019, so this will both test/stretch Leveins squad; defensively we have Dikamona’s experience as central defence cover ( over youngster Baur), as well as Haring that can step back into the role he was brought in for but has excelled in midfield; NI international Hughes is another that can step in, although first team outings this season limited (yet in the NI Squad for recent internationals??). Garruccio and Godinho can supplement the left and right hanside, with Man U loanee Mitchell pushing up to his better attacking midfield position.
Up front we persevered with big Uche 2 weeks ago at Ibrox, and he showed the problems he can cause, ( had a couple of chances to equalise before Rangers 2nd goal) but in hindsight he was carrying the injury that now requires the op, so should he have started? That leaves a somewhat lightweight attack with Maclean and Wighton the only real options with Naysmith; a few smaller attacking options available but youngsters who tend to be attacking midfielders. we could see Sheff Wed signing Sean Clare appear at some point but again not a striker. Aberdeen had a good win last time out (v St Mirren) but have yet to hit the previous season s heights, but still expect them to cause us problems if we don’t gel quickly at the back.

Aberdeen’s record recently here has been mixed but not been on to look at actual HDHs but again a BTTS shout and possibly Aberdeen double chance…

As always the Hearts/Hibs doubles are a personal challenge; team news vital in both games; ….plus a chance to look at Dunne (Hearts) and Mallan( Hibs) as first/anytime goal scorers..

Good luck all today…lots of choice, just picking the right ones 😉👍👍

I won’t be doing my usual Derby preview today because it is a match that really could be difficult to call on the win/draw/win market. Statistics/form + my gut feeling says both Derby and Sheff Utd will net ( already tipped by mr f ), I do however think the price around 17/10 for Derby to win is generous, but I won’t be tempted. For those that need to add a little value to an ambitious acca might consider the Derby double result. We have a good record at home but we’ve way too many draws for me to be confident of tipping the straight win. Sheff Utd are 2nd in the league showing some good consistency whilst Derby have been dropping points. Next Wednesday we have to play 3rd placed West Brom , another tough game and Derby are yet to lay down a marker with regards to the usual purple patch that always happens this time in the season. We then have one eye on a mouth-watering trip not too far in the future to Stamford bridge in the league cup. So we’ve a run of tough games to wade through.
Instead my focus is squarely on Lincoln. I tipped them confidently last week and the smashed Port Vale away from home 6-2. Today they entertain Cambridge. Lincolns goals for and against are almost a mirror image of their opponents tally in reverse. Cambridge are 2nd from bottom struggling for goals and conceding 2.5 for ever one they score, and Lincoln are top of the league scoring around 2.5 goals for every one the concede. ( this match has already been tipped by mr F ). The miserly 4/7 on offer with most bookies for a Lincoln win is a gift, but my money is squarely on Lincoln -1 h/c @ 8/5. Price on bet365 is the same as the shop price for Ladcrooks. I think the bookies have dropped a b*llock.

    Good luck folks

Just wondering where to get my new Taunton tattoo…final score 2-2 😀

For all the joking about club tattoos and such like, I’ll never be able to part with my beloved Bury – like an embarrassing birthmark I’m lumbered with The Shakers and wouldn’t have it any other way!

    BUT…

If I ever did have the chance to rebrand my allegiance to another side and be reincarnated on the terraces, I’d be praying that karma would pick out two teams…god help me if I came back as a Rochdale fan and I’d sooner eat my own flesh than contemplate life as a Bolton Wanderers supporter.

No, none of that shite for me, my team of choice would be half the world away and filling their amber and black striped lungs with some of the most deoxygenated air found on any football pitch on the planet – some sides are strong but these boys are quite literally The Strongest…

THE STRONGEST VS. GUABIRÁ (2215 KO):

If you ever wanted to see a league that is governed by home and away form then you need to look no further than the Bolivian Primera; the preponderence of results that are driven by home advantage is frightening…none more so than Bolivian giants Bolivar and The Strongest whose mountain lairs way up in The Andes around La Paz is a stronghold of epic proportions.

Guabira have made a pretty decent run of it these last 2 seasons and, again, on home soil they are a decent proposition – the fact they have won 8, drawn 4 and lost just 1 of their last 13 home games reflects this pretty well as does the fact that their last 6 away games have all ended in defeat!

The Strongest are playing with a bit of fire back in their bellies and will leapfrog San Jose into top spot with a win at The Estadio Hernandez Silas this evening; they have hit 3-3-2-5-1-8-4 TEAM goals against Guabira in consecutive home H2H’s and I can’t but help think that the current trajectory and form of The Strongest will be way too much for a Guabira side who are so poor on the road.

    Two selections to consider:

    THE STRONGEST OVER 2.5 TGS…28/29
    (Unibet)
    🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

    THE STRONGEST OVER 3.5 TGS…5/2
    (Bet365)
    🌟🌟

    Best of luck 👍

    Week 4 of Hearts/Hibs challenge ..

    So far…
Week 1 – no return (0-0 Hearts v Livingston the let down: on another day could’ve been 4/5-1 – Dundee 0-3 Hibs)

    Week 2 – £10 stake; £16.95 return – 1 /2 (St Mirren 0-1 Hibs; Hearts 2-1 St Johnstone)

    Week 3 – £10 stake; £11.36 return – 1/2 (Hibs 6-0 Hamilton; Rangers 3-1 Hearts

    Week 4
    Celtic v Hibs – Hibs win❌
    Hearts v Aberdeen – >2.5 mgls✅

    19.7/1

    Celtic v Hibs – > 2.5 mgls✅
    Hearts v Aberdeen – Hearts win✅

    3.72/1

Ladbrokes odds – £5 on each.

Again 1 out of 2 but this has again returned profit and now 4 weeks in and clear profit from start. A Hibs win would’ve been great (from a betting point of view!) and again they gave it a go, which ensured goals….Clancy made a few punters happy at Tynecastle with penalties and bookings, Albeit strange decisions and seemed to be happy to let players on both teams away with murder once they’d been carded; couple of dons players especially….11 cards in total shows a lack of stamping his authority early on.

Well done winners today including Kelly d on another £1k challenge 👍💷👍💷👍

    A league double

Both respectable singles but I’m tipping a double playing $4.39
