IT was a day of two winners and two losers – with Swansea costing me a full house.

My first Super Single was Burnley and after they won I added the Welsh who were disappointing at home to Newcastle.

Even a draw would have landed the Top Treble but it wasn't to be but I was later consoled by a both to score double in games at Lazio and Lyon.

Well done to everyone including Jordan who posted winners.

On Monday there are a few games to look at ahead of a packed midweek card that sees the start of the Champions League group stage.

Huddersfield travel to West Ham in the Premier League and it's difficult to fancy the home men and in Spain it's Malaga v Las Palmas. Check out Joe Short's good post on stats in the Hammers game.

If forced to bet I'd go Huddersfield not to lose and Malaga to beat a side who have lost seven in a row in La Liga but the home men have started the season poorly.

There are a few other games dotted around the Continent but I've decided to make it a no-bet day. Greg though has posted Belgian goals tips so take a look.

I do though have an early Super Single for Tuesday and it's Celtic to score at home to PSG. I'll give more reasoning in my match preview but the Scots can at least hit the target and the price is decent -a best 53-50 with Marathonbet.

I've been looking at prices for the match ahead of writing my Tuesday column for the Record and for Celtic fans there are some real tempters – for example Scott Sinclair to score first at 18-1 or more realistically any time at 11-2.

Remember to check welovebetting for their tips and video chat.

just reading about ur beloved clydebank mr f all doesnt look well a 5-0 drubbing by auchinleck at weekend to make it 4 defeats in a row and bottom of league.could do with a few davie coopers in that team me thinks.

    • Mr Fixit 5 years ago

One Davie Cooper would be fine. It’s not as bad as it looks – I reckon we could have taken 7pts from our first 3 games and performances were OK.
It’s virtually a new set of players in a better league so I expected a bad start and we’ve had four tough fixtures.
We almost always get spanked at Auchinleck and I didn’t even go which is rare for me.
As soon as I saw the team I reckoned we were too attacking and maybe going to be too open and from match reports we didn’t play well.

My only concern would be Hernandez who might be worth a go as anytime scorer.

  8. GregBrowning 5 years ago

    Morning gents

It’s Monday so it’s off to the Belguim reserve league for me and my favourite team Sint Truiden.

Lokeren Res v Sint Truiden Res

The visitors have been a firm favourite of mine during 2017 and that’s down to the fact they were averaging over 5 goals a game for the majority of season

They’ve seen 9 goals in their opening three matches sadly most of them at the wrong end! They travel to play a Lokeren side who have bagged 4-1 and 4-0 win in the last two matches – they are another team who have been solid for goals and it seems to be continuing this season

His looks like a a home win with The hosts netting a few

Back over 3.5 match goals (NAP) prices will appear inplay – should be around 10/11

    Standard Liege v Mouscron
    Mechelen v Kortrijck

These two look the best of the rest and should also see over 3.5 goals – wouldn’t put anyone off backing these as singles

    Over 2.5 double pays 9/10

    Over 2.5 treble pays 7/4

    All three KO 6.30pm

    • recoba 5 years ago

Be on them Greg it landed last week as did the 1.5 FHgs in Sint Truiden and Kortricjk so be having a wee side bet on them too.

    Trelleborgs v GAIS
    btts no draw 2.50
The reason I’m having a punt on this is looking back on their home results they tend to conceded on a regular basis, it’s more on wether GAIS can score, they are dire&have a very low score count but have based this bet on the home sides inability to keep clean sheets

  12. baldy45 5 years ago

Mr F, I’m in total agreement about the Celtic to score bet and I’ve been trying to get a decent price on it since last week. But its no bigger than 5/6. The 53/50 odds is for Under 0.5 goals, not over. 5/6 is not bad but I was hoping for Evens. The other option is just to take BTTS at Evens on the exchange. Looks a great BTTS bet.

    • Mr Fixit 5 years ago

Btts should come in. On Sunday morning Celtic to score was 53-50 at Marathonbet but it’s now 19-25 there.
Plenty of firms opened at just above evens and some people quoted these prices on the site.
It was too big which is why it’s been cut.
Btts has also been cut and is currently a best 19-20.

Can’t see how people are siding with Huddersfield tonight. West Ham albeit an awful start, have had all their games played away from home. This is an absolute must win game for them if Bilic is to keep his job, especially as it is against a promoted side. I think West Ham will win very conformtably and I am happy to take them on the -1 at @3/1.

    Gl all with your bets

    • Mr Fixit 5 years ago

I’m not convinced by West Ham and Huddersfield have started well.

Always worth keeping an eye on a few ladies football leagues (yes, I know) and this match-up could go horribly wrong for a flailing Huracan side who RP thumped
0-6 two months ago away from home.

4 of the last 7 H2Hs saw RP hit 6+ goals and and the same number of recent league games saw them score 6, 5, 8 and 10. Huracan’s recent form includes defeats by 3, 9 and 6 goals in concurrent matches.

Celtic – PSG – Celtic meets PSG again after 21 years
    – Celtic only managed 2 wins in the last 6 games played in his own home in Europe, and starts with the second chance and this time
    – Celtic has a series of 15 games without victory in the Champions League, recording 8 defeats and 7 draws in this period
    – PSG has a series of 6 wins in the new season
    – The last seven games played by PSG in the Champions League ended with at least 3 goals scored
    – PSG is unbeaten in the last 6 games played against Scottish teams and chances for this series to be extended are quite high
    – Celtic has managed to win 4 of the 7 games played against French teams on their own ground, losing 3 other matches
    – PSG has the first chance in this game, and probably will succeed, and i think they will win both halves

    – Roma was defeated by 1-3 on Inter in the previous round of Serie A in a game played two weeks ago
    – Roma was supposed to play against Sampdoria, but due to weather conditions, the game was postponed
    – after only two matches played, Roma ranks 10th in Serie A, with 3 points accumulated
    – Emerson and Patrik Schick are injured and will not be able to play in this game
    – Roma has a series of 6 games without victory in the Champions League, and in the last 3 games played in front of their fans, they have not managed even to score
    – only a draw for Atletico in the last game in La Liga against Valencia
    – after 3 games, Atletico Madrid ranks 6th in the standings, 5 points accumulated, 4 less than FC Barcelona
    – Diego Simeone has no absence for this game so he can match the best 11 possible
    – Atletico Madrid managed to win the previous two direct games played in front of AS Roma in the Uefa Cup in the 1998/1999 season
An extremely balanced game is announced between two strong teams who will fight with Chelsea and Qarabag for qualifying in the next stage
Roma did not start very well this season of Serie A, being defeated by Inter, but neither Atletico Madrid did not impress, already draw twice in the first 3 rounds
I think there are good chances for both AS Roma and Atletico Madrid to be on the scoreboard

Hi Mr F. Can this go on a new sports thread? Ta.

It was a winning week 1 with both main bets landing for the Packers and Martellus who got his yards on the final play from scrimmage.

Tonight see’s a MNF double header in which the Saints head to Minnesota, and the newly homed LA Chargers go east to Denver for a mile high season opener. San Diego are the dogs but I feel they hold excellent value. Phillip Rivers is a top 10 QB with his main man back on the field in Keenan Allen. While there is value on the spread, I’ve noticed a fairly low line for total sacks considering the players on both sides of the defensive front on the field. Von Miller and Joey Bona are one man wrecking crews and could easily tally up this total together. Accompanied by players like Melvin Ingram and 4th year man Shaq Barrett, there is taken in both pass rush. Add to the fact that Denver and LA were both in the top 13 teams in allowing sacks last season, this could be a decent total and could go right to the death in what could be an upset. Chargers ML best @ 7/5 @ Marathon Bet.

    NFL – Chargers @ Broncos

    Total Sacks Over 4.5 @ 10/11 @ 365 – 3.3 points

    • Jordan 5 years ago

Rookie running backs have had a good opening weekend. Kareem Hunt, Leonard Fournette and Christian Mcaffery all had big roles in the offence, and tonight we see another. Dalvin Cook is a three down back and has been placed firmly at the top of the Vikings depth chart. Tonight he faces a Saints defence that has been improved in the off season, putting up numbers which saw them the best pre-season defence. How that translates into an away game in the regular season, time will tell, but Cook should show what his second round pick was worth.

Dalvin Cook (Vikings) Over 76.5 Rush and Receiving Yards @ 5/6 @ PP – 3.6 points

Die Meister, Die Besten, Les grandes équipes, The champions.

    It’s back!

Champions League returns and I think there’s value on the Portuguese giants at home to CSKA Moscow. In the qualifying stages, Igor Akifeev kept his first Champions League clean sheet in 11 years. Yep, eleven…

That 40 matches, 3,600 minutes, or 60 episodes of The Great British Bake Off. What hell that must have been…

That was against the Greek side AEK Athens, and things will be much different in Lisbon, where Benfica have started the season six games unbeaten, scoring 3+ in three of four home games. CSKA conceded 2+ in all three away group games last season at Leverkusen, Tottenham and Monaco, and you’d expect the same from Benfica who are strong on home soil, where you’d have to stretch back to December last year to look for their last home loss, which was against Napoli.

    Champions League – 7:45PM

    Benfica Over 1.5 Team Goals @ 10/11 @ Coral – 4.4 points
