IT'S been a cracking week – bar a couple of points given back over the last two nights – and I'm hoping for a decent Saturday.
Weekends can often be tough and after a losing Saturday last week I went on a roll to pick up 40 points over the next four days.

Going with a big-priced Super Single of Dundee to beat Partick Thistle away. Pressure is piling on Jags boss Alan Archibald after a winless start and Dundee should go there full of confidence after giving Celtic a fright last week. They have won three of their last four at Firhill and lost just one in seven.
I have one foreign selection in the Top Treble and it's Bayern and over 2.5 match goals at Hamburg. Bayern have netted eight in two games under Jupp Heynes and could have hit six or seven against Celtic in midweek. I expect them to run up another big win against a side they almost always beat.

For Dortmund with not a lot of recovery time and a mountainous injury list, this goal time looks high also taking into consideration that key defender Papsatopoulos is out of this fixture after getting sent off against Leipzig . Although Dortmund are a menace going forward they look increasingly vulnerable at the back and are a tad light in terms of defensive options. The Adelaide v Melbourne game last night was fiery as expected, seeing the card line bet soar in easily. Today we have two fixtures in which both home sides are expected to batter the visiting teams… or will they?
Melbourne City v Wellington Phoenix:
City have looked strong in their opening two rounds, easily beating Brisbane Roar in round 1, and getting a tight away win over local rivals Victory. They have no absentees other than their long term ones, and their attack has looked strong from the outset. Their defense is a bit haphazard however, so I wouldn’t be surprised to see them leak a goal here.
Phoenix have looked decent in both their games, although the results don’t show it. They fought out a draw against a revitalised looking Adelaide side, and almost got the draw in a cracker of a game against Sydney, which they only barely lost 3-2.
City are the clear favourites for this game, although I trust in goals, more than I trust in the result, I’ll be honest.
Sydney FC v Western Sydney Wanderers:
Sydney have fought out two tight wins in their opening rounds, against Victory and the Phoenix respectively. Both were single goal wins, and they have looked a bit shaky, particularly in defense in their last game. New star Mierzejewski is a slight doubt still for this game.
The Wanderers have had mixed form in their openers, with a tight win over Perth Glory in round 1, followed by a score draw against the Mariners. They are one of those teams who always struggle to record points on the road, and with Sydney’s imperious home form, I do expect a tight clash that ultimately will result in a win for the Sky Blue.
The Sydney derby always has a bit of fire in it, so I do expect to see cards here tonight as well.

First of the 2 games today sees an on form Melbourne city welcome Wellington Phoenix. Wellington are notoriously bad travellers and have picked up just 2 away wins in their last 13 matches. After notching twice at powerhouses Sydney last week they will be confident of finding the net here against what usually is a more porous city defence and btts/o2.5 should be a consideration for this game. If this was to land you’d expect city to be grabbing the lions share of the goals tho, and that’s what I’m going to be going for in my bet. City most of the time are an excellent side to back for corners, and with winger kamau in fine form I expect them to be getting the ball out to him a lot which should aid the corner count.

Brugge travel to Lierse looking to add another away win to their present 3 to date . The stand out stat for me is amongst those wins two of them have come against teams generally below them in the table. A look at their home throws up identical stats.( scoring 8 without conceding).
