Top Football Tips

ALL the talk was about Wayne Rooney's England farewell but most of the excitement came in the Croatia v Spain match.

England's group rivals fought out a second-half thriller with the Croats winning 3-2 in injury time after Spain missed a handful of sitters.

It sets it up brilliantly for Monday with England needing a score draw or win to top the group. Croatia and Spain could also finish first depending on the result so should be a cracker with plenty of goals.

Thursday night was mixed for me with the Super Single winning thanks to under 1.5 goals in the battle of the Irelands but the Top Treble was a loser.

I tipped 0-0 in my Irish preview and I can't tell you how close I came to taking that as the Super Single. In my preview I also predicted a draw while on the England preview I backed England/England HT/FT and England to win and over 2.5 match goals.

Loads of winners on the site with clydeman taking pride if place for a £1200 lift and there were good tips from macca, dc, bully and others – too many to mention but well done everyone.

Best game is Holland v France and Scott has tipped goals in his preview. Other matches include Wales v Denmark which could be tight as the sides fight for top spot and Slovakia at home to a depleted Ukraine while Uruguay face Brazil in a friendly.

There are more Nations League matches to look at on Friday and as usual my time has been limited but I'm backing a double and a single. Every man and his dog is on over 2.5 match goals in Holland and I'll add Wales not to lose at home to Denmark.

Wales are a different animal when Gareth Bale is available and while they can seal Nations League promotion with a win I'm backing them not to lose.

For the Super Single I'm taking a chance on Queen's Park to match up to Connah's Quay in their Irn-Bru Cup quarter-final at Hampden. The Welsh league leaders are hot favourites but Queen's are playing well under new boss Mark Roberts and knocked out Welsh champions The New Saints away on penalties so shouldn't be under-estimated.

They are a big price at around 3-1 so I'm backing Queen's not to lose at 21-20 with Ladbrokes.

Remember to check out the excellent WeLoveBetting site for their tips and video chat.

Australian A league action tonight begins with WSW v Newcastle Jets and a couple of bets I fancy tonight are Btts and o2.5 and WSW to score O1.5.

WSW have scored 5 in their last 2 games against the Roar and Phoenix. Indeed they were 2-0 up against Brisbane and let that lead slip. Riera has scored 3 times in these games so is in a fine vain of form.

Jets have been slightly disappointing but Ernie Merrick has a decent side and 2 draws and a loss against Adelaide, Victory and Sydney shows they have played decent sides and not been walloped. I don’t think WSW are as good as any of these 3 so i can see goals in this game at both ends. possibly 2-1 or 2-2.

the last 5 games have seen O2.5 mgs. only 2 however have seen btts but I am willing to take a chance on btts and overs. a safer option is O2.5 @ 1.72

    anyway my tips are
    WSW O1.5tgs @ 1.90 on Bet365
    Btts and o2.5 @ 2.00 on Bet365

    good luck

Union St Gilloise Win & BTTS 4/1 – small stake
Fancy Brazil to score a couple against Uruguay missing Godin, Gimenez, Coates and a couple of others. Uruguay have conceded s few in recent friendlies against teams I rate as lesser opponents than Brazil without Coutinho etc. Belgium B – these two played out a 1-3 about 6 weeks ago. Would expect BTTS – the away side has netted in all away games and the home side scored in 4/5 homes this season. Small stake on a repeat of the game a few weeks ago. GL all today!

my eyes lit up when i saw netherlands v france

i feel the netherlands are finally picking up the slack and have put together some convincing performances of late

they battered germany , were unlucky to lose to france and drew with belgium in a freindly

mephis depay is capable of terrorising any defence and has plenty of support around him

france are missing some key men in defence like luca hernandez , umtiti & mendy

kimpembe & digne are likely to start and although they are decent players are liable to a bannana skin

im sweet on france but they looked sloppy against germany in the first halF and should of conceded about 4 they picked it up in the second half and greizmann just about dragged them through

the netherlands arent extactly known for they’re defensive prowess either and being at home they will be up for it

this game should be goal laiden and the bookies are being generous with prices

    recommended bets

    depay to score
    pavard & kimpembe carded
    netherlands to score 2+
    btts first half
    over 1.5 first half goals
    both score no draw

big spread but to be honest im confident all of these could land will back as singles and probably combine a few into a bet builder

One game of interest this evening and it’s one that has the goals-radar pinging loud and clear…

    HOLLAND VS. FRANCE (1945 KO):

I just can’t see this game reaching 90 minutes without seeing both teams names on the scoresheet.

Too much attacking flair from both and a Dutch side finding some form against a French outfit who’ve looked a little distracted since the summer is a recipe for what could well be a cracker of a game!

    Three selections to consider:

    BTTS & OVER 2.5 MGS…11/10
    (SkyBet)
    🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟

    OVER 3.5 MGS… 11/5
    (UniBet)
    🌟🌟

    BTTS BOTH HALVES…11/1
    (Bet365)
    🌟

    Best of luck 👍

NO French Ligue 2 games tonight but still focused on French football as the national team make the short trip to play a much improved Holland side

    Holland v France (7.45pm)

League A action as these two meet for the second time having played out a 2-1 French win in Paris. The dutch competed well and were a bit unfortunate to lose the match but overall the Dutch national side are definitely in a much better place than this time last year.

They humiliated Germany 3-0 at home in their Nations league opener and also managed to hold Belgium 1-1 in a friendly last month – that’s impressive form against three of the worlds best sides and they’ll hold no fears against the world cup winners.

From what I’ve read, Dutch Manager Ronald Koeman has fully fit squad to choose from and they know they need to get a result here if they have any chance of winning this group. Memphis Depay has been in good goal scoring form and will be Hollands main threat and although there is no doubting they are playing against an excellent French side, they are far from solid defensively.

France have conceded in their last three games (Holland x1 Iceland x2 Germany x1) and I don’t see them keeping a clean sheet in Rotterdam.

This should be a really entertaining game I’d expect a similar match to the tie in France with both sides scoring and that should lead us to at least three goals

    Recommended Bet

    •Over 2.5 match goals
    •43/50 (Marathonbet) (NAP)
    •Over 3.5 match goals
    •11/5 (Unibet)

    Any Rugby fans out there?

I certainly wont profess to know much abut rugby, in fact, I barely know the rules (I know you cant pass the ball forward) but one match has caught my eye

Scotland face South Africa at Murrayfield tomorrow, a country Scotland have lost to in all of the last 6 meetings and if you go back to 2003, Scotland have lost 12 of the 13 encounters

The Springboks come into this game having beaten France in Paris last weekend, they were beaten by one point against England at Twickenham and went down 30-32 to Australia. Prior to that they defeated both Australia and New Zealand in September

That’s pretty impressive form against the best sides in world rugby

This will be a huge test for Scotland as they haven’t played anyone of this standard (apart from Wales who defeated them comfortably in Cardiff a few weeks ago) since the 6 nations and saying that they are probably playing against one of the top 2-3 sides in the world at the moment

South Africa are 8/13 which looks nailed on but can be backed -4 at 1/1

    • Mr Fixit 5 years ago

Rugby isn’t my forte but I usually watch Scotland games. We seem difficult to predict because we can be brilliant on our day and full of mistakes on others.
As you say historically we struggle against the South Africans power but we played really well last week and Murrayfield will be rocking.

    • GregBrowning 5 years ago

Yeah it’ll certainly be rocking anyway. SA a big step up though from Fiji

      Might back it

    • hairyheid 5 years ago

Funny I was thinking the same Greg, Scotland playing much better recently but have we got what it takes to beat South Africa who are also very much on the up as well (they beat New Zealand in New Zealand and were well worth it from what I seen). Think there is value there, but I’m no rugby expert and don’t want to watch it hoping for a Scotland defeat 😂 interested in what some of the other rugby tipsters think…

    • GregBrowning 5 years ago

Think i’ll Just go with it mate and see what happens 😂

    • discodale 5 years ago

The advantage the Southern Hemisphere big boys have in the autumn is that they arrive here on the back of the rugby championship, and the home nations are a little rusty and take a few games to get going.I think it will be close,if rain is forecast Scotland are always in with a shout.
The bookies are never far away with their handicap,so rather than backing the -4 handicap at 10/11,I would back South Africa to win by 1-12 points at 7/4. This formula has served me well over the years .

    • GregBrowning 5 years ago

Cheers for the input mate – agree about the Home nations being rusty whilst the Southern Hemisphere teams arrive in better shape. Will probably stick to the -4 given our record against them

  43. shortee 5 years ago

busy tomorrow and flat out today so had no time, wish i had listened to @maccathered about spain last night and croatia goals – hindsight eh. well in fella

    – Shortee’s Nap-

    NAP – 3 games over 1.5 goals – League 1

    ‼‼‼‼‼‼‼‼

After many hours spent looking through stats like always I have gone for goals the 6 teams that I have chosen for the nap in 3 games and of course reasons why outlined:

    ⚽B rovers v Scunthorpe 2/7
    ⚽Burton v Coventry 3/10
    ⚽Doncaster v AFC Wimbledon 1/4

🔻First up is the battle of the lower ranked teams at 19th and 20th with 1 point between them. Scunthorpe are the over 2.5goals kings of this league with them in second position for totals of 2.5 and they are the 3rd highest for the 1.5 with an average of 3.7 per game. Scunthorpe have the worse defence record as a result of this with 37 conceded and both these teams NEED to win and I cannot ignore the price plus I actually fancy Scunthorpe to nick the win as really both aren’t priced right with home at 11/10 only because of that. Bristol rovers are just after a loss to Exeter and will be seeking goals and I am happy to have this as a 1.5 choice.

🔺Next up is Coventry and they are also kings of conceding and their last 8 away from home in all competitions have seen both to score and 6 of those have also seen over 2.5 goals. Coventry need to win as the promotion play offs are in their grasp and only 5 points over all separate these teams and their opponents burton hold 2 strange records. The first is they are 75% for their both to score stats and second they are 52% for exactly 2-3 goals in their games with them having 5 in a row before all 2-3 but that was back September. They can score and I fancy both to get on score sheet here.

🔻Last up is Doncaster v Wimbledon and it should be plain sailing for Donny and their score power is 2xs that of Wimbledon with only 11 but a huge 26 conceded. They have lost their 5th straight game and Donny have lost 3 in a row and will want to bounce back with 2 of those games seen over 2.5 let alone 1.5 in the last 6. Doncaster like Coventry are in the mix for play offs and a win would see them level with Charlton occupying the last play-off spot pending other results.

    1.08/1

⭐Again ill happily take all 3 on my research⭐

    • Mr Fixit 5 years ago

Good luck with those. Heading out for a bit to watch the football then put up tips.

One to look out for later this evening and it’s a game hailing from the CONCACAF U20 Tournament that might just throw up a few goalsfor any early Night Owls out there…

MEXICO U20 VS. EL SALVADOR U20 (2200 KO):

I’ve no time to put up a detailed post but I reckon this one may just see the net bulge a good few times with the El Salvador Youth goalies most likely injury being a back strain picking the ball out of his own net.

The host’s youth potential is great and those that follow the Mexican leagues will know the style, tempo and general calibre of youngsters coming through is very, very solid – way above the standard of El Salvador whom they beat 6-1 around 18 months ago.

Big difference in infastructure and overall quality here with three selections worth a look at lower stakes:

    OVER 3.5 MGS…5/6
    (Bet365)
    🌟🌟🌟

    OVER 4.5 MGS…11/5
    (PaddyPower)
    🌟🌟

    OVER 5.5 MGS…9/2
    (PaddyPower)
    🌟

    Best of luck.
