Mr Fixit’s Top Tips: City, Spurs & City aim for Champions League lift

IT'S a big night on Tuesday with the return of the Champions League and both Man City and Spurs are in action in the first last-16 ties.

City travel to Basel where it won't be easy but the should nick a win while Spurs will do well to avoid defeat away Juventus. I've posted a separate preview.

Elsewhere there are two English Championship games and a big League One and League Two card.

There's one game in Scotland with Steve Clarke's men going for seven wins in a row at home to struggling Dundee. I'm chancing Killie at evens as the Super Single and other bets will be posted around lunchtime.

Last night my btts double was a loser. Jordan and Greg commented with late tips but I was working and couldn't post them while admin are busy with another matter.

I've been studying the RFO this morning and having checked form, stats and team news I've picked out two trebles.

Accrington will be on many accas tonight and they start the Top Treble at home to a Crewe side whose 0-0 draw at Yeovil at the weekend ended a run of four defeats. Stanley on the other hand have won five out of six after Saturday's superb win in front of 30,000 at Coventry.

I fancy Cardiff to beat Burton but instead I'm adding Wigan and at a big price Plymouth. Wigan don't play in the FA Cup until Monday so shouldn't have an eye on that meeting with Man City.

Saturday's defeat at Southend was a surprise but at home they've been rock solid with four successive clean sheets and should see off a Blackpool side winless in seven.

Plymouth are a biggest 7-5 at home to a Wimbledon side who have lost three in a row and the only reason looks to be the h2h with the Pilgrims losing five out of six meetings at home.

However, they're with three wins in a row and their only recent defeat was against leaders Wigan. Plymouth are closing in on the play-offs while Wimbledon are sliding towards the bottom four. Should be a home win and the price is so good you can take less risk with Plymouth draw no bet.

My btts treble is based on h2h and form and must mention the possibility of a full house as there was on Saturday. Most of the entries to my Line of the Week contest in the Daily Record feature btts in all of those games and the price differences are amazing – more than 100pts between best and worst.

That's a reminder to check odds and take the best available. Tonight all 12 pays 1749-1 at 10BET and 1313-1 at Betfred so it's some difference. Would almost be a miracle if it landed back-to-back but better putting 50p on this than buying a can of coke.
