SATURDAY turned out to be fairly dramatic with Man City winning the title in the first half then blowing it after the break as Man United made a remarkable recovery at the Etihad.

City will still lift the title but it will be interesting to see how they react against Liverpool on Tuesday after a second successive defeat.

Everton-Liverpool proved a damp squib as Jurgen Klopp rested five players ahead of the Champions League return.

After all the excitement let's see what Sunday brings. In the Premier League it's Arsenal v Southampton and Chelsea v West Ham while Celtic travel to Hamilton in the Premiership.

On the Continent there are loads of games to look at and of course there's the EFL Trophy Final between Lincoln and Shrewsbury.

Yesterday Millwall brought up my Super Single but none of the accas won although several were close. My golf treble won at 3-1 and on Twitter the £10 to £1000 bet is up to £300 thanks to Ayr and over 2.5 match goals.

Star of the show was Scott Allot with a winning btts treble and a Euro treble that became a double and well done to all the other winners.

My Super Single today is Shrewsbury to beat Linccoln in the EFL Trophy Final at Wembley. Both sides are in a promotion battle but of course the Shrews are a league above and have confirmed they'll go full strength – as will the Imps.

Lincoln showed their ability last season in the FA Cup but could find Shrewsbury just too strong.

First team on the Top Treble is Valencia who are back in the form they showed at the start of the season, taking 22 points from 24. They entertain an Espanyol side with just one win away.

Valencia have beaten their rivals four in a row at home and interestingly both have scored each time. In fact the last seven at the Mestalla have seen both scoring and overs and five of those have finished 2-1 Valencia.

Goals and Valencia & btts tempt but for the treble I'm taking the straight win.

Greg likes Arsenal and I do too – although Arsene Wenger has made seven changes and that's a concern.

They have won five in a row including three convincing success against Milan and CSKA Moscow in the Europe League and should beat a Southampton side that have lost their last two away in the Premier League by 3-0 to Newcastle and West Ham.

Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang tempts to score first at 17-5 with SportPesa. He is in good form with five in six and is fresh since he's EL cup-tied.

Complete the treble with Lyon at Metz. Exiting the Europa League seems to have lifted Lyon who won at Marseille then beat Toulouse.

They are fighting with Marseille for a Champions League spot and should beat basement boys Metz who are eight points of safety despite drawing their last. Metz crashed 5-0 at home to PSG before that so hopefully that's a better reflection of the difference between the sides.

Mr F can’t say much more than uv already said on our title game of 2 halves won & lost, although the champagne will just have to stay on ice for a little while longer ?
& can I just say, i wasn’t aware of another 1,000 challenge was started again, I nvr seen this advertised anywhere on here?
    Or maybe I missed it???
    Thanks.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Been doing the challenge on Twitter using the vote process which has worked quite well.

    • bluemooner1894 6 years ago

Yea was aware of those happening before, just didn’t know there was ongoing ones going on frequently.
Wld it be possible just to mention wen they going to be starting & letting punters know, as I nvr really use Twitter much tbh, unless thier is a challenge to follow of course lol
      Thanks

Anybody seen that penalty in the Atlanta game? Given by VAR. Worst decision I’ve ever seen haha

Aye Jordan it was ridiculous and thats with VAR as well get it tae France.
World Cup is going to be ruined with it I think and sadly I think its here to stay.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Indeed it was – noticed this while walking the dog. Still a winner but 3-1 instead of 6-1.

  5. davisam 6 years ago

Sporting Lisbon have apparently suspended 19 first team players after they responded to criticism from the sporting owner or something. Anyone know anything else about yous? Supposedly fielding a youth team at home tomorrow, could be worth backing the away if so 13/2

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Just read about it – seems that all players are available now after a deal was worked out.

Intrigued on a price from Switzerland today with Basel heading to Lugano who have lost five of their last six conceding 14 goals in the process. They conceded 2+ in all five after a very decent spell prior to the winter break. Basel have competition this season which is rare as they usually smoke this league every year, but this season its the Young Boys topping the table and 10 points clear.

Basel went to BSC last weekend and went ahead 2-1 but could only hold out to a draw. Not bad considering BSC’s last loss at home was in August of last year. Basel have scored 2+ against Lugano in their last five most recent trips dating back to 2015.

    Basel Over 1.5 Team Goals @ 10/11 @ Coral – 4.4 points

    Basel Over 1.5 Team Goals
    Lausanne/Sion BTTS & Over 2.5 Goals
    Udinese/Lazio Over 2.5 Goals
Real Madrid/Atletico Madrid Over 2.5 Goals

All these picks are worth taking as singles so you can perm them if you like. (6 x 0.5 point doubles or 4x 0.5 point trebles).

    Quad pays 10/1 @ 365 – 1 point

    • beardedgeordie 6 years ago

That’s a good find with the Basel Bet,

I’m gonna double it with O1.5 Arsenal goals as they seem on fine form atm and can’t see Southampton giving them to much hassle.

Superb comeback from United last night..my club mate from Ayr is a season ticket holder for the Reds…he’s down for the Manchester Marathon today ..celebrated with a few soadie waters and blackcurrant..lol..!!!!

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Don’t get excited the only reason United won that games was through City’s tiredness, and who can blame them having just played a champions league quarter final at one of the toughest grounds in Europe,United were holding on for life in the last ten mins,so before we start hearing we are back remember City are the best team in Manchester haha

    • boabee8867 6 years ago

i,ll bow to your superior knowlege….i don,t support any English team…i just give credit to any person/team in any sport at any level who reels things under circumstances like last night…….

    • mr h 6 years ago

And the second best team in Manchester are 4 points in front of the best team in Liverpool with a game in hand….nothing’s been won yet could be an empty handed season for both clubs with league positions being the difference

    • fraser51 6 years ago

Mr H comes in with a lovely body shot.

Man United should finish srcond now looking at the fixtures and having a 4pt advantage.

Two massive wins against City and Liverpool, it just makes you wonder where does it go wrong at times.

Anyway Man united and Raners both to finish 2nd i backed last month and it took a massive step forward yesterday.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

To be fair though fraser in both games v Liverpool and City Man Utd have been hanging on by a thread to put it bluntly.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Looks done and dusted now Fraser, winning the champions league has to take priority over finishing second in the league, you don’t win anything for finishing second, although i’m sure Man utd will bring a video out of it.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Yes Liverpool have Champions league though so finishing second is not Liverpool’s priority right now, adding an extra 150 million to the transfer kitty has to be prioritised over finishing second,i mean some team has to keep adding those cohesive points don’t they???

    • mr h 6 years ago

Didn’t Man Utd win the Europa League last season and gain a few coefficient points?

    • maccathered 6 years ago

That was last season and they played nobody to win that cup, nobody worth noting anyway, not like the year before when we knocked Man utd, villareal,Dortmud out.Really nothing to shout about,no good raising your game for one derby, you need to be consistent and Man Utd are anything but.

    • mr h 6 years ago

Only 3 clubs have gained more coefficient points in the last 10yrs than Man Utd and I’ll give you a clue none of them are English.

They can’t be that inconsistent if they still sit above every other club in the land bar City

Anyway enjoy your day,it’ll be your year next year

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Win one game and they all come out of the woodwork,i have been praising Liverpool all season Mr H and yes your probably right Liverpool have a great chance of winning the league next year.

    • 10duff10 6 years ago

Oh come on Macca. Tiredness? They seemed pretty full of energy when United ‘were holding on for life in the last ten minutes’.
United were 50/1 at HT (which was still too short!) and that was an incredible change in attitude and mindset in the second half Sometimes you have to take off the rose tinted specs and accept that a team you clearly dislike deserve some credit. No one is saying it changes anything but United fans are damn right to get excited. Isn’t that what Derby day is all about? Well it was in Manchester anyhow, shame Liverpool’s clubs put on a shower of sh*t earlier in the day. Guess they were tired too.

    Rsl v Vancouver btts + o2.5
    Orlando v Portlant btts + o2.5
    La Galaxy

    13/2

    ——-

    Rsl v Vancouver btts
    Orlando v Portland btts
    Real v Atletico btts
    Celtic O1.5
    Napoli O1.5

    13/2

    ——-

Debating wether to back Celtic O2.5 at evens, hate backing Celtic but imo Hamilton are the poorest team in the league, Celtic will be looking 3pts closer to the title and build more confidence ahead of the semi final.

    • recoba 6 years ago

League’s done so why not back them if you fancy it. Hamilton are poor but there league position says not the poorest, sure they beat RFC this year? ;)

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Celtic to have been poor in the last few weeks but they could fire again at any time.
They won there 4-1 earlier in the season and will be looking for a good display before the cup semi-final next weekend.
Hamilton’s problem is scoring but they’re not the league’s worst team because there are 3 below them.

    • fraser51 6 years ago

Stats don’t lie but i think they are the poorest team, their pitch certainly gains them some points over the course of the season.

      I’ve backed Celtic O2.5

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

I don’t there’s much in it between Accies, Thistle, Dundee and Ross County but for now Thistle look the worst team.

  20. alva glen 6 years ago

  21. cockerspaniel 6 years ago

Doing my usual penalty trixie today
    Hamilton v Celtic
    Arsenal v Southampton
    Chelsea v West Ham
Just over 100/1 for all three at Hills.
There was not one penalty in any of the SPL and EPL games yesterday- so by the law of averages there should be a couple today , that`s my logic anyway.

  22. shortee 6 years ago

I have spent the morning checking through the Lugano stats and they don’t please the eye. I have carefully looked at a market at 2/5 which I feel is value considering my finding. In their last 5 games they have conceded a goal in the first half of all these games and 2xs they have conceded more than once in the first half with 2 and 3 goals. At 2/5 against a Basel side who are second Highest scorers in the league has value and appeal and it will be my first part of double.

Next up are a Lyon side against rock bottom Metz. Metz are down barring a miracle Lyon have to simply win to withstand any chance of getting into the champs league spot that Marseille currently hold ahead of them. Lyon are 14 clear Rennes and won’t be caught tbh. Lyon have scored 36 more goals than there low opponents Metz and I see them winning again today. At 1/2 I feel again that’s value and willing to take both of these in a double to make an evens nap exactly for 3pm and 4pm kick off.

Lugano v Basel a goal in first half 2/5

    Lyon to win 1/2

    Double at 1.09/1 NAP

    £50 stake.

Was a poor day yesterday with the Hibs game being a goal short and Dundee Uniteds utterly embarrassing defeat against part time Dumbarton. A few games I like the look of today

Eintracht Frankfurt v Hoffenehim KO 5pm

The Men from Frankfurt are Absolutley flying at home, they are unbeaten in 9 and have won 5 on the spin and are well in mix for a champions league spot, they welcome fellow euro seekers Hoffenheim who are on a great run of form and will be full of confidance following last weeks 6-0 demolition of Colgne. They aren’t the best away from
But do usually find the net. This should be an open game and I can see both sides scoring here.

Back over 2.5 match goals 83/100 (Marathonbet) (NAP)

    ***************************

    Arsenal v Southampton

The gunners have been good to me over the last 7 days, I’ve backed them as my NAP twice and they’ve delivered on both occasions. They are almost at full strength and should have the beating of a poor Southampton side. Arsenals record against the saints is exceptional and with Emirstes a fortress again taking them to claim another three points

    Nice v Rennes KO 2pm

Taking both sides to score here, Rennes are on an incredible run of goals away from home ( scored in their last 14) nice have two stikers in the books in Balotelli and Plea who have scores 26 goals between them. Should manage two goals in this game

    Arsenal to win

No joy in my pen trixie – should have went for red cards instead

  45. cockerspaniel 6 years ago

Done 50 + bookings at Hamilton. paid out by sky I thought there were only 40 + booking points in the game. Not complaining though.

    • mint 6 years ago

      Cockerspaniel,

      Well played good work.

      MINT…

    • cockerspaniel 6 years ago

Cheers mint I hope they don’t take it back?

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Four bookings at Hamilton but the second for Lyon leads to a red so more points.
Most firms will give 10pts for the first yellow then 25pts for the red so Lyon probably earned you 35 points.

    • fraser51 6 years ago

Two yellows and red = 35pts
Two other players yellow card = 20pts

      Total 55pts

      Well done

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

That’s how it works with most bookies so definitely a winner.

    • cockerspaniel 6 years ago

Yeah Paul but I thought it was a second yellow so that would be 10 points?

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

No second yellow is still 25pts.

Don’t know why Arnautovic didn’t shoot towards the end the form he’s in he would have probably scored, more interested in trying to get a penalty.

    Molde To Score @ 5/6 (Bet365)

    • leroy 6 years ago

Two big sides in Norwegian football but Molde have started in better shape. No clean sheets for Rosenborg in their opening 3 games and BTTS has landed in the last 4 meetings between the sides.

Feel the price is far too big only 10 minutes in.
