THERE'S a full league card today for the first time in a few weeks so hopefully it will be kinder to punters.

I've posted separate English and Scottish previews where most of my picks are reasoned and there are the usual tips from the rest of the contributors.

For my Super Single I'm going with Bournemouth who should be full of confidence after their 3-0 win at Chelsea in midweek. They face a Stoke side who have started under Paul Lambert with a win and a draw and two clean sheets but this will be his toughest test.

My Top Treble is focused on European matches and apart from that's it's a moneyback fivefold and two goals trebles.

Last night was disappointing with Bolton beating Bristol City to make my Super Single double a loser and I was a couple of goals short on the goals treble.

Well done to all the winners and good lick with your bets today.

    Morning gents,

Salvation in SA with both BTTS picks coming good ?

On the surface, there’s a few cracking games in both the upper and lower English leagues but having risk-assessed the shortlist, one pick survives…

     TAMWORTH VS. YORK CITY:

The lads from Bootham Crescent are maintaining the pace I noted a few weeks ago and may well be the value side to follow in the NLN as Darlo and Flylde have been in recent seasons.

York have netted 5-2-4-1-1-3 team goals in their last 6 away games with further crushing blows at home…this one looks good:

    YORK OVER 1.5 TGS…4/6
    ?????

    Best of luck ?

    • maccathered 6 years ago

      Well in hull lad

    • HullShaker 6 years ago

Thanks Macca – it’s been the poorest week in a long time for me…need too sort it out.

Good news is the SA/Icelandic leagues are kicking into gear and it’s no secret that I’ve always fared better overseas!

Have a good un today sir

    • gm 1008 6 years ago

Nice one on the SA tips Hull. Followed with a wee double. Will be on today’s as well.

  2. krenar 6 years ago

@mr-fixit Are you certain about B.Munich? They will have to rotate the team because of injuries while this is the ‘English week’ for them – three games for a week. The Mainz stadium is muddy and Heinckes had complains about it as well….

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

The word certain should never be used in betting.
Looking at the probable line-up my one concern would be Lewandowski rested for Wagner.
Apart from that team looks pretty strong and they have a great record against Mainz.
If you have your own doubts don’t back them.

    • krenar 6 years ago

By certain I meant ‘Are you willing to still have it as super tip given the provided facts’ – as of course there’s no such thing as certain.
I still think it’s a risky game for BMunich to win considering this week they have a cup match and later on play Schalke as well. I guess we’ll see.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

      It’s just a tip – it’s not a “super tip”. It’s also on a treble – I’d imagine a “super tip” would be a single.
I put up tips and it’s up to individuals whether to back them. You should go with your own opinion if it differs to mine.

    • krenar 6 years ago

Absolutely- you’ve got great tips! But you’re focus is mainly on my grammar rather than on my opinion. Anyway, I just thought to offer an opinion didn’t mean to criticise or anything :)

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

My comments to you have not been critical or unfair – and not once have I criticised your grammar.
It’s something I never do. All I’m trying to say is it’s a tip – take or leave it.
Don’t brand it certain or super – it isn’t either.

Scottish 1st division looks prime for goals, top 3 games av took in a few lines.

2+ goals at Arsenal, Fleetwood, Wigan, Rangers, Arbroath, Ayr & Forfar – 3/1 (NAP)

Got a few daft longshots as wi every Saturday but have taken the RAB combo at the 2 A-League games. 4/1 singles and 24/1 double. Both are in ma longshot goal each half 14fold tae haha

    • Alves 6 years ago

Also btts both halves double in Oz ?

    • chelseagirl 6 years ago

That’s a lot of games for those odds.

  4. john smith 6 years ago

Mr f, i have problems getting into the ‘super single saturday shortlist thread, it keeps saying its for paid members only but i had no trouble last week.

    Skybet treble RABs –
    Man u v Huddersfield
    Bournemouth v Stoke
    Derby v Brentford

Each team 1+ corner each half 2/1

    Add 10+ BP’s each team 11/1

Red card in the 3 games 200/1

    —–
    Italian 2pm KO’s – A goal each half 18/1 (5 games)

    French 7pm KO’s – A goal each half 18/1 (5 games)

  7. weebanger 6 years ago

Few bet that caught my eye in the rangers v Hibs game

    Rangers over 1.5 cards 4/5

Over 4.5 cards both teams 8/5

Tavernier anytime 6/1 All at Unibet

Think it will be a dirty game with the Neil Lennon factor. Rangers normally get a penalty and maybe a free kick or 2 will add to Tavernier chances.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

This is a tipping site so let’s not degenerate it into a Celtic/Rangers row – only a few are interested.
Rangers say they knocked back the bids – and BBC have had to apologise for questioning the fee.
If you want to comment further do so on another forum.

      Both cards bets land ?

  8. obi wan cannoli 6 years ago

As expected yesterday, Sydney FC obliterated poor old Phoenix, however today we have what is expected to be two much tighter encounters.

    Newcastle Jets v Melbourne Victory:
The Jets have been decent all season, although have stumbled in their last two games, with a hard fought draw away to City, and a shock loss at home to the Phoenix. Today sees the return of important attacking player Petratos, in what should be a huge boost to the home side.

Victory have improved considerably in their last 3 games, winning two and losing to Sydney FC in a tough game (which is no surprise). However they have lost two big names with Milligan leaving the club, and Geria out through suspension.

Home win is on the cards, and I expect Petratos to get on the score sheet at decent odds.

    Adelaide Utd v Perth Glory:
Adelaide host the Glory in a battle between two sides in poor form, but both coming off decent wins.

The Reds see Isaias return from suspension, whilst Absalonsen returns from injury. Glory are still missing a ton of players.

This game could go either way with the way both sides are playing, although Adelaide seem to have the slight edge with Isaias back, and against Glory’s terrible defense.

No bet for me on this one.

    Tips:
    Newcastle win @ 2.30
    Jets v Victory – over 11 corners @ 1.90
    Petratos – atgs @ 2.87

The Aussie btts&overs never came in earlier on your 1st tip

    • sean567 6 years ago

It didn’t. 2 reasons why the total hadn’t changed- 1; I wrote this out last nite when it was 2.6 and copied and pasted this this morning quickly and 2: I wait til all matches are finished before updating them otherwise it can be too confusing to keep track especially if there’s 12hrs of a difference between ko times and also in play bets. Rest assured the 1pt loss from the btts/over 2.5 tip will be deducted tonight.

    • williegee 6 years ago

Hi Sean567, Thanks for some great tipping. took your over 1.5 mgls & over 1.5 tgls bets and then for a small stake stuck all 7 tips in an acca……. which duly obliged @ over 7.25/1. Once again many thanks, your one to follow!

Going for an East Midlands double today….
    Derby double chance 2/5
Forest double chance 29/20. Pays 5/12
Derby are going well and after getting rid of some over paid big time Charlie’s Rowett now has a strong close group who are performing for him. Think this year they will not bottle it and go up auto. Although you never know with Brentford and the championship these days I except Derby not to lose worst case and should win with Vydra in their team.
Forest is the most risky obviously as with recent form Fulham are massive favourites. They are one of the best footballing sides in the division and now going well. Karanka after forests absolutely pathetic performance against PNE rightly got his axe out and didn’t mess about by clearing the deadwood out of forest. It’s been needed for years but he did this in one day. Shipping out 6 and bringing 7 most prob 8 (with Ben Watson expected also) very good signings at this level and makes us much stronger. Although this game may have came too soon for the team to settle and gel together… just have a feeling we will have a go with the new signings wanting to perform and now excellent competition for places.. the price is too good not too have a dable.. although don’t blame me if you back it as forest are about as reliable as a chocolate fireguard… but I’m thinking and hoping we have finally turned a Corner Karanka doesn’t mess about and means business ?

Hi gents. It was a no show for Paris at home which nobody in their right mind saw coming. Not even with the odds shortening did they amass a point.

Goals again today but down in League 1 where Oldham host Bradford.

Behind Bristol City, these two sides have seen the most over 2.5 bets land this season in 37 of their combined 60 games.

Oldham have seen both score at home in 14 games out of a possible 19 in all comps. Bradford started the season strong away from home but have dropped off the scale slightly. In fact, their loss at Rotheram last week was the first time they’ve failed to score away from home in the league all season. Should grab one today against a leaky Oldham side and I’ll take the xtra goal for good measure.

    Oldham/Bradford Over 2.5 Goals @ 4/5 @ 365 – 5 points

Some bookies have done it in the past – they don’t have to but it’s unfair if you only have 8 minutes for your bets to come up.
To refund stakes would be good customer service.

    Repost from yesterday:

    Arbroath v Albion Rovers
    BTTS and Over 2.5 mgls @ 10/11 (***)

Stats suggest this is very good value and I can’t find any team news to dissuade me from this. Albion have seen this market land in their last 8 away matches, and have managed to score even against the best teams in the league. Arbroath had a 0-0 last time out but that doesn’t dissuade me as they have seen BTTS land in their last 10 home games and should score a couple against a team that concedes freely.

A further addition to this today – @sean567 has already posted Albion Over 1.5tgls 15/8 – I agree with this – good value and definitely worth a quarter stake on it.

    Over 1.5 mgls treble pays 38/50 (**)

    AFC Fylde v Eastleigh
    Stenhousemuir v Berwick

Early Derby v Brentford and post Millwall v Derby thoughts.

We’re at that time of the season where every man and his dog is waiting for derby’s form to fall off the cliff. Its been that for 3 seasons or so and I think Derby need to find a different way of winning to the form we’ve seen from mid September till mid January.

Derby were guilty of missing so many chances against Bristol, I have no idea how it ended 0-0. The 2 late penalty calls and the Cameron Jerome booking were adding insult to injury but we should of had that game signed sealed and delivered well before the penalty fiasco’s. Bristol had lots of the ball and had a good go at us but the ratio of clear cut chances both teams had was around 5 or 6 to 1 in Derby’s favour. Bristol would be happy with the point, but Derby would see it as 3 dropped.
It was much the same/similar when we travelled to a much improved Millwall who were 5 or 6 unbeaten at home. Millwall were very unlucky not to have a penalty and late on, a terrific flick on saw Derby’s ” left out in the wilderness ” Ikechi Anya net very near the end – only for the linesman to deem it offside. I’ve looked many times, i’d say ” he should of gone to specsavers “. I won’t say a lucky point for the Rams, i’d say the result was probably about right for both sides.

People are now saying the wheels have come off at Derby. Vydra has not netted in his last 2 matches and the 2 way tussle for the golden boot with Leon Clarke of Sheff Utd seemingly has both players not wanting to capitalise on the opposing players lack of scoring. Maybe someone in that chasing group will close that gap, unless either player adds this weekend.
To be fair to Derby, we’ve had 10 clean sheets from our last 13 leagues matches and still only 2 losses in our last 23/24/25 games?? November was the last time we lost to Reading – at our ground.

Derby’s much improving Johnny Russell turned down a new contract with the rams and opted to a change by playing for Kansas in the MLS. Derby tried getting McClean from WBA but were put off by the £15 mill they wanted. So Anya and Weimann are the only 2 players we have that can fill in for Russell. Its a step back because Russell has been like a new animal in this past 4-5 months. We’ll miss him.

Derby’s Scott Carson is still making a case for a seat on the plane to Russia with another couple of clean sheets, and with Keogh and Davies central defence partnership keeping the goals out, a player we thought would give us that stability in the back 4 – Jason Shackell was brought back off Burnley, only for him to pick up a few injuries, when he did regain fitness, he found himself down the pecking order. He’s now out on loan to Millwall.
Chris Martin has gone to Reading on loan after rejecting Sunderland. A no brainer really. I think if Reading give him the service, I think Reading could have a very strong finish to the league and be there or thereabouts the top 6 come May.

Derby are not the only team in the top 6-8 that have ” trip me up ” games, we all have them. The last time we faced Brentford, we kinda turned a corner with a hard fought point. It was also backed up with a good away point at high flying Cardiff. Brentford for me are still a hard working, hard to break down team. They can make things very tough for anyone when they want to but their form has been a bit all over the place this season. If they found their groove, they could also be threatening a top 6 finish. I don’t think their squad is as versatile as Derby’s but they’re capable of making things very tough for the Rams today.
I’m inclined to believe today will see the Rams edge them slightly, probably by just 1 goal. How much longer can Derby keep these clean sheets coming?? I’m about 55% we’ll get another today but a scary 45% we’ll concede to them today.

I think under 2.5 tmgs is highly probable, I do think Vydra will net atgs and I think Derby make home advantage count, so i’ll tip the Derby win.

    Derby win @ 23/20
    Vydra atgs @ 7/5
Under 2.5 total goals @ Evens

all prices with betfair. I’ll be around soon with team news.
Good luck everyone with your bets.

    • nathanufton 6 years ago

      3 changes for the Rams:

      Carson
      Wisdom/Keogh/Davies/Olsson
      Thorne/Huddlestone
      Anya/Vydra/Lawrence
      Jerome

Olsson comes in for Forsyth, Anya in for Weimann – away on new dad duty and Jerome comes in for Nugent.

I think the 3 changes are all positions that are winnable from the players who’ve played in those places this season. So all 3 could – given a good result, make a case for their inclusion in the starting 11 for the season close. Anya has not made a start for the Rams in 288 days. I think Anya is possibly playing out of position, he’s more a forward than a winger, but people also forget, we brought both Anya and Vydra together from Watford where their partnership was ticking nicely.
I think if he plays at a level he’s capable of, we could end up keeping him this season.

      Good luck guys.

  44. philwindy 6 years ago

Afternoon All, good to see some solid tips from the usual. Hoping this Saturday turns out to be a good one. Going for a simple double today, here’s hoping anyway….

    Plymouth to score
    Rotherham to score

    @1.92
With Blackburn playing mid week at home and winning, I expect them not to be relieshing the long trip to Devon, they may be the better team, but they do like to concede and Argle love a goal at home park. I reckon they will put in a shift and get something from the tired Blackburn lads and hopefully net, as usual.

Rotherham need no intro to scoring on home soil. They have only failed once!!!!

    Good luck all

Red card at Derby, Man utd & Bournemouth to go now for 200/1 RAB ?

    • nathanufton 6 years ago

Yep, you beat me to the punch. Brentford red card for a 2 footed studs up. Tom Huddlestone has JUST broke his duck …………………………….. GOAL !!!! 2 stints at Derby, 125 appearances. Lol. I was just about to advise on lumping on Derby at the dropped price of 11/20, I guess that price has just gone awol .

It seems all Derby so far and hard to see now past a derby win.

  49. nathanufton 6 years ago

GOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOAL. Cameron Jerome. 2 nil to the rams.

  50. shortee 6 years ago

    2-0 derby

    say @nathanufton is happy

    • nathanufton 6 years ago

Grinning like a Cheshire cat, 3 nil, late Vydra penalty. Just need Sheff Utd to give Wolves a game. It would sure make the chase for the title by the chasing pack a bit more do-able, but Sheff Utd can be a bit unpredictable, sometimes they have stormer, sometimes they’re below par.

This win kinda rights the ship a bit after two back to back 0-0’s. Glad Vydra got back on the goal tally, but also thrilled that Huddlestone got his first ever Derby goal after 2 stints and 125 appearances. Also Jerome got his first. With Villa, Cardiff and Fulham winning, if Sheff Utd manage to win today, they can jump in to 6th spot and really put the cat amongst the pigeons in the top 6.

It is so tight in the 2nd to 8th position points wise, anyone that loses at this stage has a distinct chance of slipping out the race. Exciting for the neutrals, but the fans in those clubs involved, we’ll have bitten our nails to our elbows by May at this rate.

Main bets won although will be affected by another postponement, so winning odds will be a little shorter. Stan James have still yet to settle a bet from midweek that won outside of a postponed game! Most bookies tend to get that sorted a lot sharper.

Won’t copy the full results because of all that potential confusion, but not too bad of a day. O1.5MG Double in League One came in, but the half stake efforts on BTTS at Peterhead and Plymouth came up short.

Still the Fenerbahce bet builder in the running. Well done all with winners!

It looked like it would stay 2 nil to Derby and Vydra wouldn’t net which would of given 2 out of 3 on my recommended bets, but a late penalty converted by Vydra now puts it at 3 nil.

2 mins ago, it was likely to be
