Top Football Tips

IT was a dramatic night in the Europa League with Celtic holding on to edge out RB Leipzig but Rangers collapsing in the second half to crash 4-3 at Spartak Moscow.

It was less exciting for the English teams with Chelsea beating BATE 1-0 away and Arsenal being held 0-0 at home to Sporting.

Dynamo Kiev landed my Super Single with a convincing win against Rennes but it was two out of three on the goals treble and Arsenal and Malmo downed the moneyback fivefold.

Well done to all the winners and I'll check out who some of them were later.

Last week I said I wouldn't be putting up tips most Fridays due to time restrictions and the fact by Thursday my full focus in on my Saturday tips and columns.

That's the case again this week but I've added mr orange's – Go Ahead Eagles -1 and over 2.5 goals at VVV v Fortuna – to Greg's French Ligue 2 double for a site fourfold.

I'm also posting a moneyback fivefold on the FA Cup instead of putting up two with Saturday's points.

The UK games tonight are Sheffield United v Sheffield Wednesday which should see goals while in the Scottish Premiership Aberdeen can edge out Hibs at home.

There are the usual French Ligue 2 games for Greg to look at while third-placed Lille face Strasbourg in Ligue 1.

Other big games include Frosinone v FiorentinaSerie A and Hannover v Wolfsburg in the Bundesliga.

Remember to check out the excellent WeLoveBetting site for their tips and video chat.

    Morning gents,

Working in Leeds today and not back until early evening so will put my thoughts up now on this one – I’m taking on the Welsh giants at home and it’s certainly a gamble…

THE NEW SAINTS VS. CAERNARFON TOWN:

It’s possible that I may end up horribly wrong here but I’m just not convinced TNS will fulfill the type of victory needed to justify the prices given against a Caernarfon side who have been a resilient bunch in their first season back in the top-flight.

Out of their 13 matches thus far, only 2 have seen them beaten by a 3 goal margin, the 0-3 against TNS was one of their openers and they have sured right up since then with some cracking outcomes including a 0-0 draw with top side Connah’s Quay and a 1-0 defeat of 2nd placed Barry Town.

If you rule out the more historic H2H’s just 1 of the last 4 would have seen TNS win by a 3 goal margin and I don’t wonder if the minnows may just put up more resistance than the bookies suggest:

    CARENARFON +3 H/CAP…4/5

Tonight we have the one game in the A-League, with Melbourne City facing off against Wellington Phoenix.

    Citeh v Phoenix:
Malik, O’Halloran and Good are still unavailable through injury, but otherwise City have a relatively healthy looking squad heading into this one. The home side eked out a lucky win in their opening round against Victory, which I feel they really didn’t deserve.. and since then have drawn & lost in their last two games. They have looked decent in attack at times, but overall have been fairly unimpressive this season.

This game is the easiest so far for them (on paper) this season, so I do expect them to hit their stride here, if they will at all!

Phoenix are literally a mirror of City, in that they won their opener at home against the Jets, and then drew & lost in their last two. Phoenix do have a full squad to draw from, but are notoriously bad travellers in the A-League.

I expect to see a home win tonight, without too much fuss, assuming all the trouble in the city right now settles down (idiot lit his car on fire, attacked and killed someone, & hurt two others, and was shot by the police right outside my office a short while ago in Melbourne).

    Tips:
    City -1 asian handicap @ 1.81
    City – over 5.5 team corners @ 1.90
    Fornaroli – atgs @ 1.72
    City – to score a penalty @ 6.00

Morning lads EPL Tips for Saturday
    Cardiff City v Brighton
Brighton to win at 21/10 (NAP)*****
This should be an interesting game and i can’t weigh up why the bookmakers have Cardiff as favourites here,i’m not complaining though as i think Brighton will edge this one.Brighton for me are becoming streetwise and have won 3 of their last four games all 1-0 scorelines which tells you they are becoming streetwise and these games were against tougher opposition than Cardiff. Now Brighton lost their last game v Everton away and they can be forgiven for that as Everton is not an easy place to go even for the top sides,The value here is on Brighton and i’m on them.Take Glen Murray to score anytime at 15/8

    Huddersfield v West Ham
West Ham to win at 13/10****

Yeah i reckon aways in the prem this week barring Leicester City,Watford should beat Southampton,i aren;t put off by them losing at Newcastle last week as thats a tough game for any team despite Newcastle’s recent run at home they never lose by many.Spurs should see off Palace but again it will be tight with a goal swing to Spurs.

RKC v Jong PSV BTTS & Overs 4/5
Both sides very inconsistent but PSV away points to goals. All their 6 aways have seen BTTS & Overs. They average over 2 goals scored and nearly 3 conceded in these games. RKC are clearly capable having dumped the top of the Eredivise table senior PSV side out of the cup 3-2 AET a couple of weeks ago. 5 / last 6 between these sides has seen this outcome with the other BTTS. There have been just 3 clean sheets achieved this season by these sides in a combined 24 games. Hope for more goals tonight.

    • nathanufton 5 years ago

home win by 2 is 2-0, 3-0, 3-1, 4-2 ( score 2 more goals than the opposition ), home win by >2 is to have a winning margin of 3 or more goals, so 3 nil, 4-1, 4-0, 5-2, 5-1

Posting my weekend nap now folks as I’m off out with the wife and kids. Had time last few days and now she is taking it back off me lol. Missing the forum and chatting to the guys so much 😩

    3pm Nap

    🔹NAP – 3 games over 1.5 goals – FA CUP🔹

After many hours spent looking through stats for goals the 6 teams that I have chosen for the nap in 3 games are as follows:

    •Lincoln City v Northampton 2/7
    •Plymouth v Stevenage 2/7
    •Sutton v Slough 1/4

I chose Lincoln based a lot on their home form and their ability to score as well as concede, 4 of their last 5 home and away have seen over 1.5 achieved and also Northampton have won 4 from their last 5 and 4 of those have seen them score over 1.5 TEAM goals as well as the matches having over 1.5 goals. I don’t need to list their scores etc as people can do that themselves but this is my first choice.

Next up is the Plymouth match and they played Sunderland last week who was part of our nap to win and I done an extensive preview in regards to how poor they are. They sit 22nd in the league and 3 points off bottom. They have only scored a total of 18 goals across 17 games with 29 shipped now. Their last 5 in a row at home have all saw 1.5 achieved and their opponents Stevenage are a league below and sitting 8th and there last 3 have saw 1.5 goals achieved and are expected to make changes for younger players and I expect this to contribute to at least 2 goals combined.

Last up we have Sutton from the national league against slough from the national league south. Slough has seen their last 5 games ship 7 goals and a total of 17 goals in those 5 games. Their opponents Sutton are a decent side at home only losing 2xs in 10 games and they are favourites for this as leagues above. I can however see slough at least nicking 1 goal and I really don’t care who wins as long as there is 2 goals in the game.
On those stats and form again I’ll be happy to have them as my nap

    Morning everyone,

Been following the sites tips on and off for years, must say what a great job your all doing, can’t believe how much the site has grown. The various knowledge from different leagues and markets is brilliant. Keep it up!

I feel now I can try add some Of my own tips to the site and will try and update regularly.

Been a Yorkshure man what a better way than to start with an interesting steel city derby tonight. Most people will be on sheff United tonight with good reason. However am going for bookings as my first bet on here as I think there is some value in the market. Last year the two sides met on a Friday night and Sheffield Wednesday alone picked up 65 booking points alone.

Tonight I’m going with 20+ booking points each team and a decent price of 11/8 (sky bet) I’m quite confident this should Fly in. Also 60+ in the match looks tempting at 2/1 however I’ll play it safe and stick with my original thoughts

I’ll try post some more tips after work if not my next will be tomorrow hopefully give some inside knowledge on my beloved Barnsley fc.

    Morning gents

FRENCH Ligue 2 action tonight and I have picked out a goals double I like the look of and also have a goals bet from The Sheffield derby

    Auxerre v Niort (7pm)

One of the shock results of the season last week as Auxerre, a side sitting in the relegation places and who lost there last 4 away matches travelled to table topping Metz and left with all 3 points with a hard fought 1-0 win

It was a great result and may be the catalyst to get their season up and running.

7 of their last 8 matches at home have seen over 1.5 goals and they welcome a Niort side who are 10 points better off and 11 places above them in the league

Niort are one of the leagues form teams at the moment and will be looking the close the gap on leaders Metz.

7 of the last 8 matches between the two sides have seen 2 or more goals and with Auxerre being boosted by last weeks win and Niort in the hunt at the top of the league we should see both sides going for this.

    Le Harve v Sochaux (7pm)

The hosts are a side who enjoy their home
comforts having collected the majority of their points there.

They don’t lose many at home ( just 3 defeats in 35 is great going) and with 13 of their last 14 matches seeing 2 or more goals I’m taking that to happen again tonight against an inconsistent Sochaux side who have only won one of their last 9 visits to Le Harve

    Recommendation

Back over 1.5 match goals double
    19/20 (Black Type) (NAP)

Sheffield United v Sheff Wednesday (7.45pm)

It’s the steel city derby from Bramell Lane tonight and I can’t recall seeing the away side priced as big as this.

It’s been a bit of a contrasting season for these two. United are right in the mix for automatic promotion and sit just 1 point behind leaders Leeds. They have goal machine Billy sharp spearheading their attack, he already has 10 goals this season and will be a popular choice to score again tonight

They’ve had a fantastic start and at home they have been terrific with 5 wins and two draws after an opening day defeat to Swansea.

Wednesday are on a horror run at the moment. After a god start they have now lost 4 on the spin, leaking goals and also struggling to find the net.

Last weeks 4-0 home hammering against Norwich was a shocker but as the old saying goes , form goes out the window for derby matches.

There is an element of truth in that hence why I was really surprised to see Sheff Wed priced as big as 6/1

Being so big opens the door to handicap betting and double chance at decent prices ( +2 is 4/6 which I think is good value) I’m going to focus on goals though

United are rightly favourites for this but don’t write off Wednesday who’ll be looking to to stop the rot.

I think Sheff W will score and their is value in the goal time market. They have been struggling but still have quality in attack

    Recommendation

Sheffield Wednesday to score before 78 mins
    5/6 (Bet365)

Don’t forget the usual French skybet specials ( first half goals and over 1.5 match goals – 25/1 & 14/1)

  28. cottweiler 5 years ago

Also wondering if anyone thinks 6/1 Tony bellew is a big price. Sky bet

    • bullseye 5 years ago

Yeah gotta be having some of that. Personally think Uysk will box his way to a decision victory and that’s 7/4 with Skybet although saying that Bellew has dynamite in that left hook of his and if he lands it proper it could be lights out. Uysk is excellent but he can be got at as Breidis showed in the World Boxing Super Series.

The problem for Bellew is that Uysk is a tricky southpaw. Mukabu was a southpaw and he put him down with a straight left that he didn’t see coming so that is always going to be the danger. Bellew to be knocked down is 8/11 with Paddypower and both to get knocked down is 6’s. A lot of options available – perhaps one to hedge on but yeah Bellew win at that price is big considering his punching power.

Dont waste your money on bellew he has virtually no chance of beating Usyk.
Usyk is like a big Lomachenko, the p4p best fighter in the world and they train together, his footwork and boxibg IQ are on a different planet to bellew.
This is a total mismatch imo, Usyk is actually value at 1-6 imo i would have him about 1-25. Im sure the big hitters will be lumping on him.

    • bullseye 5 years ago

Well this is the thing. Bellew has admited himself that he has no chance of winning via decision so his sole game plan is to try to knock Uysk out. Bellew does carry concussive power and has the heart of a lion. I think in something like his last five fights he was underdog and he won all five with four KO’s although none of them were of the calibre of Uysk. Breidis was able to buzz Uysk a few times in the WBSS and with styles making fights Bellew will always have a punchers chance in this but as you say Uysk is just cut from a different cloth.

    • cottweiler 5 years ago

Thx paul0, do u think usyk on points also?

I kinda brushed on this way of thinking yesterday via the Saturday super single shortlist re: win and overs 2.5 goals.
Besides the 1-1 that Derby ” earned ” at the Riverside ( late equaliser via a 2nd own-goal in which Derby should of been home and dry with the win and overs 2.5 tmg’s ); Derby’s last 4 matches have seen them win and cover the overs 2.5 tmg’s on 3 occasions. Sheff Utd at our ground ended 2-1 to derby, followed by a tough midweek away game to in-form WBA – ended 4-1 ( the WBA goal was very late on and avoidable – but it brought up my win/btts bet ). Last weekend we played an in-form Birmingham side looking for their 5th win on the bounce with just 1 loss in 11. Derby played Ok and Birmingham deservedly went ahead – and could easily of notched a 2 nil lead, but Derby put the foot on the gas and pushed them aside for a comfortable 3-1 win. All 4 of those games, Derby could of won by another few goals.
Now I know that a lot of you guys like an ” overs 2.5 tmg’s bet “. We all do – when they land. So I decided to try something a little different:

Derby have forgotten how to keep a clean sheet, but our 4-3-3 is starting to pay dividends. I don’t think Derby are set up to worry too much about conceding a goal and we’ve proved enough times already this year that we can even fight back against quality sides after being a goal down. This Derby side reminds me of when we had a Polish attacker called Gregorz Rasiak, we sold him to Tottenham on the cheap years back. Tottenham barely gave him a sniff and Derby never replaced him. When we had him, we would concede but we were not bothered because we had Rasiak that would get us 2, that is how we got most of our points before we sold him. When we lost him, we had nobody to put the ball in the onion bag and we still leaked goals, so our team took a big step back.
Our attacking players are doing well, Waghorn picked up an injury to join Bryson on the Physio’s table and Mount was already sidelined. Bennet was thrown onto left side, Wilson on the right and Marriot as target man. All three got on the scoresheet on Saturday after being a goal down and could easily of had a few more.
If you know your team and you’ve the belief they’ll win but they’re likely to concede, then instead of taking say for instance Derby @ around 23/20 to win, why not drop onto the 3/1 on offer for the win and btts. The price is a bit miserly but if you start looking at the lower English leagues, those matches are a plethora of goals.
If you can find JUST 4x matches priced at around 4/1 for the win/btts to deliver, a £10 on that 4 way could in theory deliver £6250.
Some of the games I’m looking at and the prices are not that brilliant, but I’ve picked out 5x I like the look of and shall duly oblige with my first £10. I might do this but just a 4-way on a weekend if the prices are ok.
    Derby/overs 2.5tmg’s
    Notts Forest/overs 2.5 tmg’s
    QPR/overs 2.5 tmg’s
    Lincoln/overs 2.5 tmg’s
    Scunthorpe/overs 2.5 tmg’s
assuming I can find 4 games each weekend that tick the right boxes and the price is 4/1 or better, in theory, I only need to land 1x 4-way acca every 61 attempts to profit.

No time for detailed write up sorry, but all these teams have been checked out, researched, head to heads, form, etc, have a indepth look yourself if you are thinking of following any or all – I reckon all will likely hit two minimum, and likely three team goals, with exception of Mlada Boleslav, who should at least score, but reckon they could get two.

    1520 Saudi – Al-Ahli Jeddah 2tg
    1545 Bulgaria – CSKA Sofia 2tg
    1700 Czech – Mlada Boleslav 1tg
    1900 Holland – GA EAgles 2tg
    1900 Holland – Sparta Rotterdam 2tg

    23/10 bet365 (4 points)
(if you fancy making it 2 team goals for all 5, it’s a shade under 4/1, which I’ve taken also, half a point)

Also, cheeky wee half point side bet on all getting 3 team goals, with exception of Mlada Boleslav, 2 team goals, comes in at bawhair over 22/1, again on 365

Good luck all with your bets today.

    • fortunefavors 5 years ago

      What is 2tg?

    • firhillthrill 5 years ago

“tg” is team goals. so 1tg is 1 team goal, 2tg is 2 team goals, 3tg is 3 team goals and so on

NEC win could be one of the suprise wins tonight. Lot of Jong Ajax players played on wednesday in the Youth League against Benfica. Wonder if Bakboord, Bakker, Botman (i think he is suspended), Ekkelenkamp, Gravenbergh and Kuhn are in the squad tonight.

Only concern is NEC not being a great side

    Keuken Kampioen divisie – Friday

    Go Ahead Eagles v Dordrecht

It’s 2nd v 2nd from bottom in this game and I can’t see anything than a home win. Dordrecht haven’t won an away game in 7 months and only won 1 game all season. Dordrecht also haven’t kept a clean sheet in 11 games and conceded 14 goals in their 6 away games. Their topscorer Mourgos (on loan from Norwich) tore his acl last week.

Go Ahead won 5 of their 6 home games scoring 17 goals and only conceding 3 goals. 2 of these 3 goals were against top of the table Sparta in a 2-2 draw. Go Ahead scored 2+ in all 6 home games and won to nil in 4 of 6 home games. They also conceded the least shots in the division after 12 games. I think Go Ahead will outscore Dordrecht here and I will take the simple -1 Asian handicap.

Go Ahead Eagles -1 Asian handicap @ 1.68

    Eredivisie – Saturday

    VVV v Fortuna Sittard

This is a derby between two teams from the province of Limburg on Saturday night. VVV is doing very well this season and are 6th in the table. It’s a team that is very difficult to beat, especially in away games where they often just defend. They only conceded more than 1 goal in 1 game this season and that was away at PSV. They scored 11 goals this season and 6 of them were scored in 3 home games. They scored more than 1 goal in 3 games this season and 2 of these games were at home. In home games they play a bit more attacking style, but still let the opponent have the ball.

Fortuna Sittard is a promoted side and are doing fine this season in 10th place. They are scoring and conceding a lot this season with 21 goals scored and 21 goals conceded in 11 games. They only failed to score in 1 game this season and that was against Ajax. In 5 of their 5 away games both teams found the net and 4 of 5 saw over 2.5 goals. 9 of Fortuna’s 11 games this season saw BTTS and 8 of 11 saw over 2.5 goals. I think Fortuna can score in Venlo and I think we will see at least 3 goals in this game.

Odds are much better than expected quite a nice return on the treble.

No, not really. I actually went through the card and picked out 16 short ones I liked including those 3.

WILLIAM hill do not offer it, just helping others

    • Mr Fixit 5 years ago

Cheers for that. I hadn’t noticed but tend to do my fivefolds with McBookie or in shops at Ladbrokes.

  43. hurricane 5 years ago

I notice that you’ve suggested William Hill as the bookie to place your 5 fold selection with. I too was under the impression that I would receive my stake back if one of the selections lost. Last weekend one of my 5 selections lost and when I spoke to them I was informed that that promotion ceased at the end of May.

I’ve just double checked my account and can confirm that I’ve not had my stake refunded as a free bet. All 5 of my selections were WDW.

Have I been mis-informed by Hills Mr Fixit?

Was at the Den Bosch game and luckily Go Ahead Eagles scored when I walked out of the stadium…From what I read Dordrecht defended and were time wasting all game

Well done on the Dutch haul, guys..sometimes all it takes is a late, late, great goal 👍

Nothing for me on a low scoring British night, which also means my Hearts/Hibs challenge down again on all fronts.

Now only waiting on a couple of first half goals in the Australia v Chile woman’s nighthawk match for a £49 return for a treble. Onward and upward.

Oh…and 6 of my anytime goal scorers 😆

Love it when a plan comes together – final score 0-1 Caernarfon 😀

      Cracker!

    • HullShaker 5 years ago

Cheers @hairyheid and Mr F – nowhere near the Dutch goal prices but in terms of day in day out grind for value, I’m cock-a-hoop when gambles like that pay off…TNS were around 1/9 for the win at various times of the day 👍

Deliberated between Trinidad & Tobago, New Zealand Youth and Brasil for the Night Owl so fair to say it’s an eclectic mix of games on the shortlist but settled with the latter – bit of work to do so no time to post reasoning but anyone following in recent months will see where I’m coming from…

CORITIBA VS. GOIÁS ( 2330 KO):
