Top Tips
THERE were some strange results in the Europa League but I avoided most of the pitfalls by landing a 16-5 Top Treble.

Two points on gave me a nice profit after a 2pts loss on overs at Hibs and unders at Rangers. Surely I meant this to be the other way round.

Hibs clearly missed Aston Villa signing John McGinn and remember they don't do 0-0s. They do now and face an uphill task against a decent Molde outfit.

One of the crazy scorelines was Zenit St Petersburg losing at Dinamo Minsk so if Hibs win they'll be heading to Belarus instead of Russia.

Rangers have one foot in the play-off round – as do Burnley – after beating Maribor 3-1. A revenge mission to Luxembourg is still possible after Progres Niederkorn lost just 2-1 at Russians Ufa.

Anyway that's enough of Europe for a few days. It's back to domestic action and the Premier League returns with Man United v Leicester and it could be a tasty encounter.

Leicester won't fear the Reds who are no bigger than and after a summer of turmoil I wonder what response Jose Mourinho will get from the faithful.

It will be half decent if they win but both to score could be a better bet at 23-20 with Marathonbet. This has landed in three of the last four meetings at old Trafford and is my Super Single.

This goes against the thoughts of new contributor Nathan O'Neill who has posted a match preview so check out his reasoning.

The Foxes have lost Riyad Mahrez but their two best bits if business were keeping hold of Jamie Vardy and Harry Maguire. I backed Maguire a couple of times to score during the World Cup and he's got an outside chance if deliveries from corners are good. He is 22-1 at Unibet to net at any time but he may not start if Claude Puel decides to give him another week's rest.

Elsewhere French Ligue 1 returns with Marseille expected to beat Toulouse and Greg will have his usual French Ligue 2 tips.

I'll have a look at other games in the afternoon when I've finished my Saturday columns to see if anything else stands out for a double or treble.

Well done to all the Thursday winners and good luck on Friday.

    Man Utd v Leicester City
Leicester City double chance at 13/8 (NAP)*****
Leicester City to win at 7/1 (NB)**
So the premier league begins and i would like to say we should be in for a cracker but i doubt that very much indeed. We all know that there has been a world cup but that is no excuse as to why players have not returned to training and Man Utd’s well documented poor pre season and lack of transfer activity only means one thing and thats all is not well at Old Trafford, big clubs that are run well play well and you can’t say United are being run well when the manager is blaming everyone for the lack of business etc etc, this surely will have an effect on the players tomorrow night and add to the fact Matic,Herrera,Lukaku are out i just cannot see where the goals are coming from united just don’t have enough creativity and even if Lukaku was to start i wouldn’t be confident in him netting.Leicester City may well be without Vardy and maguire (i can’t see it myself they will want to play in such a big game but we will see)even so they will give 100% and for me this will be the difference between the two teams, add to the fact a very poor pre season United cannot just expect to tum up and win, they haven’t had enough time as a team in pre season to warrant me backing them.Correct score 1-2
    Best of luck

I can’t see how they can be prepared for this game mr f when the team as a whole have had very little pre season preperation.

Consistent as always Macca, every other United game last season you Napped them to get beat lol,my Nap is that they win, and ill add them with Club Brugge win/over 2.5 for a Nap double priced at around 7/5
      Good Luck.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Consistent winner yes, with all the negativity coming from Old Trafford it doesn’t bode well,i have a friend who is a season ticket holder and he goes to all the games (poor lad) and even he says it doesn’t look gpod this season for Utd and he is from Manchester!!!

    • nathanufton 6 years ago

With the MaGuire and Vardy situation sorted, Leicester will of breathed a sigh of relief at keeping them on the books. Wonder if MaGuire fancies his chances to bag one !! I’m a neutral on this game, but have a sneaky suspicion a powerful header from a corner will burst the Man Utd net. Defender to score atgs?? wonder if the bookies have cottoned on to it.

For me this game has BTTS written on it. As a Mancunian and United fan, I’ve said myself that things don’t look great and it’s going to be a tough season, however the media and reality are often two very different things. This is the PL and down to business. Even on poor form with some key players missing we still have enough on that pitch to score with the likes of Rashford, Sanchez, Mata, Pogba, and Fred. This is the first game of the season at Old Trafford and the fans will be backing the lads. It might be hard fought, but we will score in 90 minutes.
Can see Mata having a good game tonight, and even scoring.

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

note: Pogba may not start, Pereira’s had a good pre-season and likely to feature, alongside Herrera in the middle.

Mr f got to totally disagree with you, we never missed McGinn one bit tonight with the players we had in midfield, McGinn isn’t the reason we didn’t win. the Molde keeper is the reason we didn’t win,
Molde are decent in defence and move the ball about well from back to front but they are totally clueless upfront, people seem to think we have a bad defence but that’s two clean sheets in a row now and Laidlaw didn’t have one save to make tonight, Efe was superb and his performance was even described Beckenbauer-esque tonight, Ryan Porteous in the center of a back three has now had two outstanding performances since coming back into the team and it’s no coincidence that we have had two clean sheets “Porto is a future Hibs & Scotland captain”,
Bartley ran the midfield and Boyle was MOTM. Mallan unlucky not to score with three good long range shots, one of which was tipped onto the bar by their keeper who kept them in this tie with some superb saves including one right at the death from new signing Emerson Hyndman, from what I saw tonight we have nothing to worry about going to Norway, their keeper can’t play that well again and a score draw or better puts us through, the away goal rule is now massive for us

Although McGinn has gone we are still a stronger squad than last season and we still have Tam Agyepong to unleash, then we will also have Ryan Gauld when he signs,
there was not a bad performance by anyone tonight

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

You know Hibs better than me but I listened to the game and that was the chat on the radio.
I can’t see how you can lose your best player and be stronger – he always seemed to perform well and Lennon has tipped him for the very top.
Interesting to see how he does at Villa. Molde are no pushovers and will be tough to knock out over there.
Any Hibs fan going will enjoy the trip – a Rangers fan I know says it’s one of the nicest places he’s visited with his team.

    • mr h 6 years ago

Effin Ambrose mentioned in the same breath as Beckenbauer ? won’t be too long before there’s a Rafael Scheidtesque performance from the big man.

Nah but seriously I hope both Rangers and Hibs get a result next week along with my own team Celtic. Was reading about the coefficients this morning and to get back too the 2 in the CL we need too be ranked 15th which occupied by Greece currently. Hibs already knocked out one Greek team and hopefully Celtic can do the same and start too bridge the gap.

Overall been a vast improvement in European results with no losses in 90mins. There’s a mountain top climb but gradient of that climb is a little less steep for now. Good TV deal and a bit more finance and kick on from there

    • recoba 6 years ago

      Couldn’t agree more Mr H. ?
4 x CL qualifiers for Celtic again next year! Although I think RFC and Celtic’s next ties if they can get there are easier? Anyway 4 rounds has certainly worked out harder this year.
Here’s hoping in Athens next week mate n best of luck to the rest.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Remember the co-efficients work a year in advance so no good for next season – 4 qualifiers for whoever wins the league.

    • mr h 6 years ago

Rangers should progress but I don’t think it’ll be as smooth as they’d hope it too be. Maribor created chances at Ibrox and are unbeaten in 6 at home in the Europa League with the last 4 having clean sheets.

Hibs are more than capable of a positive result in Norway against a decent Molde side. Lennons side create chances in most games and it could well be a shootout in a goalfest. Hopefully Hibs can find a way too at least get a score draw.

Celtic in my opinion were by far the better team and on another night could have won by 2 or 3 but it didn’t work out that way with a defensive lapse allowing them back into it. That just served too emphasise Rogers stance on recruitment’s. We will be going into a white hot atmosphere in Athens but we’ve enough about us too handle that. Bit miffed by the substitions but hey ho who am I too criticise. We’ve faced better teams than Athens in Rogers tenure and I feel we’re capable of going their and getting the job done but it won’t be easy.

2/3 in the group stage would be a step forward so here’s hoping all 3 get the chance too have a play off for a spot. In a couple of years the coefficients may allow entry at later stages ?

And yes Mr F, whoever wins the league will have 4 qualifiers ?️ ?

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Reckons Rangers will be OK but might need to score. AEK are good defensively but not great up front – could be 0-0 or 1-1.
      Hibs up against it though.

    • Johnb 6 years ago

@mr-fixit McGinn is a loss and with his style of play it is hard to replace but even with him and McGeouch away I still see us as stronger all over the pitch

Mallan brings us a far better goal threat from midfield and will score more than John & Dylan together

Hyndman is the creative midfielder and although he only played 15 mins on thursday you could see after his first two touches that he is class

Bogdan gives us that top class cover in goals that we were lacking

Agyepong although hasn’t played for us yet from what I have seen he is lightening with a ball at his feet, Brandon Barker has even said he hasn’t seen a quicker footballer but he also has the skill to control the ball while remaining quick

Flo & Jamie have had a half season together so that makes them better for this season

Porteous and Shaw are a year older and will definitely play a lot more games this season, Porteous especially as he is top drawer

The players brought in make us stronger overall and we still have 3 or 4 more to come in, the mini Messi would be a good one “Ryan Gauld”
What we will miss is that box to box Midfielder in McGinn

    • mal c 6 years ago

Hyndman is the creative attacking midfielder against weak sides and will look good but if he’s challenged hard he drifts out game, watched him at Rangers

Can anyone recommend a bookie that does money back acca insurance. I’ve always used hills but they’ve stopped it. Also to include btts

    • nathanufton 6 years ago

Ladbrokes do a money back on a 5 fold in shop, but you have to use a specific printed coupon/long list. You can’t just use a blank slip and fill out your own. BUT check with the counter staff, you might be lucky enough to find someone who actually gives a stuff and wants to help. But good luck on that. ( not bitter at all !! )

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

I think you need to use the actual Acca Insurance coupon – it has selected games so for example tonight no Atalanta or Sevilla.
Also on the coupon if you do 8 or more you get the stake back for 1 or 2 wrong which is a decent offer.

I’m not sure about the full list but McBookie, BetVictor, Betfred, Ladbrokes and Paddy Power do it.

  5. nathanufton 6 years ago

Read an interesting piece a few weeks back where you can capitalise on bookies like bet365 that offer a 0-0 bore draw moneyback. Unless it has changed, rather than bet on the scoreline, you bet on the ht/ft market. You put your bets on your chosen team, but 2x bets. 1st on ht draw/ft win and the 2nd on ht win/ft win. Assuming that one of those lands, you get a better price than going for the straight win, what you’re not covering is the scoredraw ft result or permutations of it or coming from behind to win ( ht lose/ft win ). It could work well for say Man City V Newcastle, but avoiding matches that have a higher chance at drawing. If it ends 0-0, I think bet365 refund your losing stakes. Maybe we have someone on here who has a better understanding of bookies small-print.

Coral are doing a offer on the Man Unt game . Bet a tenner on Unt to win and get a free fiver bet for every goal they score ( up to three goals) worth a punt, although i doubt if macca will agree.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Why do you think the bookies are giving you this offer???bet a tenner on United to win 1/2 at home and every goal they score you get a free fiver bet,United teams of the past would have been around 1/7 to win this type of game.

    • cockerspaniel 6 years ago

I still think it’s a good offer macca.

    • sean ireland 6 years ago

It’s a great offer,United will win 1 or 2 nil, won’t be a bucket load though,Maccas a decent lad and a decent punter but gets overcome with a touch of the Scouse madness when it comes to this time of year.Wait for the fever to go before asking his views on a United bet.Agree with him in part that Untied aren’t the force they once were but United have won 4/6 meetings losing none,United will have players missing but as has already been confirmed Maguire and Vardy will also be missing. Season anti posts I won’t be touching United City 1st Liverpool 2nd I’d add that to anything.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

@sean ireland,Man Utd have not played 1 friendly with their whole team together, are you that deluded mate that you think this will not have an effect on tonight performance???normally i would not touch the wdw market in a first game of the season. As Man Utd players have had very little time together on the pitch i see this as a great chance for Leicester to walk away with something.

    • sean ireland 6 years ago

A United side that will include Sanchez,Fred and Rashford should have enough to get a win against a side that has lost their best player in Mahrez who contributed 35 goals and 24 assists past 3 seasons, he is a huge loss,United have also won 8/9 homes against Leicester who have won just once in 18 attempts at Old Trafford .Despite what you claim about United their home form was very strong winning 15/19 losing just twice and conceding just 9 goals. United will probably win a low scoring game to Nil,not a market I like though.United will win,no doubt about it if Leicester are missing Vardy and Maguire as well as Mahrez.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

What about the lack of pre-season??does this not matter then??just train for a week then turn up and win??I can’t see it,sorry

  11. gunner 6 years ago

    Premiership Antepost bets:
I was on this last season & will be on it again. Chelsea not to finish in the top 4 (6/5).
Palace top half finish (2/1). Leicester bottom half finish (11/10). West Ham top half finish (11/10)
City & Celtic title double (5/6). Without City. Liverpool to win (6/5). Huddersfield to be relegated (11/10)
De Bruyne more goals than Pogba (4/5). Sanchez more goals than Lacazette (11/10)

Gunners squad is looking impressive & we’ve got arguably the best attack around. Think Torreira is a brilliant signing but still not sure about our defense. You’ve got to be realistic though & give Emery time but will be an interesting season nonetheless. Really is a crunch season for the majority of the top teams. Huge pressure on Poch & Klopp as they simply have to win something (Klopp can’t win a final & well Poch can’t make one ha ha). More so for Klopp though as he’s spent alot & promised a trophy. Jose under pressure to play half-decent football & beginning of a new era for the Mighty Gunners!

Anyways City will take the title. Liverpool & Spuds will finish the season without a trophy yet again but should finish 2nd & 3rd in the league. Both play decent football, have good squads, & have very good managers….but those managers can’t win trophies & aren’t consistent enough to win the league. The Gunners & ManU will fight it out for 4th I reckon. New coach & system for us so will take some time to get used to it but come next season we’ll be challenging. Happy with the business we’ve done & good decision to release Jack. Always been a big fan but he’s just too injury prone & we’ve already seen how selling Ox was a shrewd decision.

Kane top goalscorer (5/2). He doesn’t score in August so best to probs wait until September to take this as you’ll get a better price. In my opinion he should’ve made the move this season but credit to the kid for hanging in with the Spuds. Kane won’t be winning anything with them so a move would have been his best chance to win some silverware but he’s still class & should take the golden boot. Thinking about putting a bit on Auba (13/2). He’s next level & we saw his strike rate when he came in at the back end of last season. Just not sure where Emery will play him but appears it wont be up top. Will see how it goes but he’ll be up there. Enjoy

    Wolves v Everton

Thankgod it’s back. Buzzing for this one. Two teams who have had a great summer transfer period. My wolves will be buzzing to show that they can hold their own in the prem. Everton have a lot to prove too. Not touching the WDW market… if I was to go for anything I’d look at wolves double chance or a draw seems a good shout. Traore and Dendoncker likely to start on the bench.

Midfield will see moutinho alongside Neves. Expect Jimenez to take the forward position flanked by Jota and probably Costa.

Our choices and options this season are staggering…. yeah I’m a lifelong wolf and I’m excited for once.

Top half finish at evens is well worth a shout I got in that in May at 2/1.

On to the game. Gonna be tough but I think Nuno will have them ready.

My bet is BTTS (4/5 b365, 5/6 Skybet) and I’ll have 5 points on this.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

I’m on Wolves to win at 5/4 home advantage should count.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Btts for me too – it’s on my shortlist.

    • richb20806 6 years ago

Absolutely. Can’t argue with it really. A few people saying it’ll be hard for the team to gel but it was the same before last season. Nuno will have them ready. No disrespect at all to Everton but if we’re gonna live up to the hype then we should be winning at home to any of the non top 6.

Jimenez looked sharp against Villarreal last week and costa looked back to his best… if you look at the footage leading up to the Jimenez goal it speaks volumes.

Very confident of a top half finish.

      Can’t wait.

Veles Moscow – Chertanovo 2 (Russia PFL, West)

Veles Moscow strengthened this summer by making several important transfers by bringing Strogino and Saturn leaders Yegor Lelyukhin and Jan Shanin to the club.
Chertanovo-2 is the youngest PFL team, consisting of football players born in 2000-2002. Main team midfielder Maxim Glusshenkov (2/2), who has always helped Chertanovo-2, will probably not play because he is in the national team of Russia U-20. Maxim Glushenkov became the best marker of the COTIF 2018 super tournament.

I can see an entertaining start to the Premier League campaign. Like last week in the Championship where BTTS came in all of the games except one I can imagine something similar this weekend.

I’ve picked out two games I fancy for goals and will be doubling up on them.

    Bournemouth v Cardiff
Bournemouth have always been a go to team for BTTS and overs and I don’t think they’ll disappoint here. Cardiff will be determined to impress and I can imagine an entertaining game on display here.

    Wolves v Everton
With all the excitement of transfers from Molineux and Goodison Park over the last few days this game promises to be a cracker. Both teams in pre-season have found the net but also conceded and I’m expecting a wide open game with plenty of goals to boot.

BTTS and over 2.5 goal double

Small punt tonight. Slavia Prague travel to Mlada Boleslav off the back of a tough midweek CL qualifier in which they drew 1-1 at home to Dynamo Kiev. Slight reservations about the quick turnaround, but hopefully having played at home they shouldn’t be affected too much.

The attraction is that Slavia have won all three opening league games (0-3, 4-0, 3-1) while Mlada have been astoundingly leaky. In two away games, they lost 3-2 at Zlin before just about beating bottom side Karvina 3-4 last time out. Sandwiched between that, they lost 0-4 at home to Sigma Olomouc.

The significance? Slavia’s three results include beating Karvina 4-0 and Sigma Olomouc 0-3 away from home. Now I’m no Czech football expert, but they make for some interesting formlines. Adding to the temptation is that Slavia Prague have beaten Mlada in their last 5 meetings (2-1, 1-2, 4-0, 0-3, 2-0), those two later results occurring a little earlier on this year.

I’d like a bigger price given their midweek exertions, but two picks entice.

    Mlada Boleslav v Slavia Prague

    Half Stake:

Slavia Prague O1.5 Team Goals @ 8/11 (Various)

    Third Stake:

    Slavia Prague O0.5 First Half Goals, O1.5 Team Goals @ 5/4 (Bet365)

    Afternoon gents

Fridy night which means its all about French Ligue 2

    Valenciennes v Chateauroux KO 7pm

The Hosts made it two wins from two as they won 1-0 in a clolsy fought matach away to Sochaux last weekend . They have one of the more attacking teams in the league and will be looking to maintian their 100% start to the season against a Chateauroux side who always seem to huff an puff their way through the season. Two of their key players are missing and for a team that doesnt have much in the way of attacking options, i cant see them posing Valenciennes too many problems. Valencineens to be stroing at home this season and they should ease to victory – shouldnt be as big a price as this against a team poor on their travels and with only 1 point on the board

Back Valenciennes to WIN 33/25 (Marathonbet) (NAP)

    **************************************************************************

    Skybet French Ligue 2 Specials

They doNt miss a trick the bookies – they usually offer total goal markets starting at 1/2, then 4/5 but tonight they are running scared and have set the lowest market at 11/8 for 23+ Goals

There was 26 goalsl last week – would have much prefered 21+ goals at 5/6 etc but its not to be – still feel 23+ worth a shout

Will also be on the usual:

Goal in the first half of all 8 mathces 40/1 (massive price)
    All 8 matches over 1.5 goals 20/1

St Johnstone vs Hibernian “Sunday’s top game”

After two home games its time to move away from the Leith San Siro and head up to McDiarmid Park,
going to start with stats, who actually looks at them? or even better who actually believes them?, seemingly Molde had a shot on target!, that must have been the header into the turf that was going to stop about 4 yards from the goal line, mind you i was at a game a couple of seasons ago where the opposition had six shots on target but what they failed to say was five of those were miss kicks that dribbled towards goal, possession is another one as possession means naff all in certain areas of the pitch, it’s what you do with the possession that matters,
Anyway expect changes on Sunday after another good night of european football on Thursday, it was a good performance with the only downside being not scoring, it wasn’t for lack of effort as the keeper was their best player, I have advised Stevie Mallan to score in every game so far and he has in four of the six and when you are getting between 13/2 & 8/1 “he is even bigger odds on Sunday” it doesn’t take many wins to show a profit, Mallan was unlucky not to score against Molde with his accuracy from long range exceptionally good but the bookies are still not taking note which suits me just fine, Kamberi should get rested so that should mean a start for Jamie Maclaren, we could also see a start for Emerson Hyndman who showed glimpses of class in the 15 mins play he got on Thursday and he very nearly won it for us late on, hopefully we will also finally get to see the Ghanaian Billy Wizz Tam Agyepong who I have been banging on about for ages now but the paperwork has taken a while, Ádám Bogdan should be back in goals after being out injured midweek, Darren McGregor could also be fit but the way young Ryan Porteous is playing it would be difficult for Lenny to replace him,
Hibs play with pace all over the pitch and have plenty of options for goals with the likes of Kamberi, Maclaren, Shaw, Boyle, Mallan, Gray and Slivka all likely goalscorers, even in defence we have Porteous, Hanlon and Efe all capable of netting, we also have new recruits Hyndman & Agyepong that look very capable of scoring looking at their form for other teams and should relish playing for Hibernian with our style of play, infact the only players in the squad that are struggling to score are the keepers and Marvin Bartley “every other part of his game is exceptional though,

Thursdays 0-0 was their first at home since 29th March 2017 “I think” so it was a shock but don’t expect us to fail to score two matches running, there was no Euro hangover last Sunday against Motherwell who only came into the match once it was over and we took the foot of the gas so I won’t be expecting a Euro hangover this time
At this time I’m unsure of team lineups but these bets are worth placing

    Already Advised
    Hibernian over 1.5 goals 7/5
    Hibernian over 2.5 goals 5/1

    New bets
Stevie Mallan to score 17/2 unibet
Emerson Hyndman to score 7/1 bet365

    • elvis parsley 6 years ago

Will add over 1.5 tg john, though stats say otherwise.
Hibs scored 2 away in prem in 2 of last 12 games.
Hibs scored 2 at St Johnstone just 1 of 9 h2h.
The game in Norway is also a factor, will they rest players on Sunday ??.

Anyhow I go with johnb as he watches them unlike most of us and they seem good for a goal of 2 this season, which is what counts
      I go 2-2 draw.
      Good luck john

    • Johnb 6 years ago

Can’t really go by h2h because it’s different players and even games last season there are still different players, the younger players are a year older so their style can change and they strengthen, we are also a better squad this year so changes won’t hurt us too much

JohnB does this in August and in September then goes quiet on Hibs. Every year it’s the same. Simon Murray to be SPL top scorer was my personal fav. Although Hibs to win the league this year is better. Like the way hibs play and a decent side but this is a tipping site. No way on earth he believes hibs will win the title deep down.

Just to make you guys aware, I’m not being lazy with not submitting my usual post Derby/pre-match summary, picking something worthwhile to bet on that has a chance to deliver is proving very very tough. Derby v Leeds is usually billed as a feisty affair between big rivals and with both teams fancying their chances in the race for a top 6 finish – and gaining the upper hand on a rival, this match really could go ANY way. We know Leeds made a great start to their campaign with a resounding 3-1 at home to Stoke – another big top 6 side and Derby had a wretched 45 mins that should of seen Reading have maybe a 2 goal advantage by the halfway mark. ( Keogh’s limp passing was cringeworthy ). To be fair to Derby, Nugent did open the scoring but was waved offside – VAR would of seen the deflection that played him onside. But hey ho.
Reading deserved the lead 10 mins after the restart with a thumping header that left Carson rooted to the spot. Derby regrouped quickly, took hold of the game and Mason Mount opened his account with a 20 yard shot that seemed to bounce just before their keeper got a hand to it. If you were impressed with Readings header, Derby’s winner with 10 seconds of stoppage time to go was a thing of beauty. A quick corner down the right side, Mason Bennet’s first touch was a pinpoint cross landing level with the penalty spot and in line with the right edge of the 6 yard, Lawrence ran onto it from the left and looped it into the top corner. I’d expect a player like Chris martin/Rob Hulse/Stevie Howard to get them all day long, but Lawrence had no business even being where he was. The Derby goal celebration said it all.
Lampard stated afterwards that Reading didn’t deserve to lose the match. He was right.
We took too long to impose our game on Reading, we did too many schoolboy passing errors and created little up front early on. If we play like that against Leeds, they’ll have 3 pts on the board before ht.
Luckily, Derby seem to play better against the bigger teams, and our record at home to them is none too shabby. They’ve only beaten us once in the last 11 attempts at Derby.
This game kicks off at 17:30hrs and my main post should be up no later than midday tomorrow. I’ll add extra info such as team news and a few bits and bobs between then and kick off. Team news won’t be available until 16:30hrs.

    • nathanufton 6 years ago

sorry, it was a quick throw in on the right, not a corner. worth seeing the short highlights on youtube

Just a couple of higher odd bets for me tonight.
Man it’s v Leicester. Sanchez has been playing well preseason and maybe one of the more upto speed players in our squad tonight I’m going to get on him having an assist at 7/2. It’s hard to predict much with this game as not too sure what the squad will be like but hel feature.

Afternoon all, some outstanding winners again yesterday, long may it continue.

Today sees me in Denmarks Superliga looking for revenge after my last unders tip got beaten late doors on Wednesday.

    VENDSYSSEL VS. VEJLE k.o 18.00

Interesting one this both teams promoted to the Elite division this year. Both starting in similar form.
I feel Vejle have the better team and a descent player in their Brazilian Allan Sousa. 4 in 4 games.
The home team are missing a couple of key defenders due to suspension and injury most notably Hjorth and Dan Christiansen. This surely provides a good chance for Vejle to show they are the better team.
Hjorring is the venue and is nearly as far north as you can come in Jutland. Vejle won’t suffer mind only being a 2 hour trip from there.
The conditions are going to be terrible for football at a very open ground with the storm giving winds in excess of 15 meters per sec.
The ball needs to stay on the ground and with this in mind only 1 team will win in that duel and it’s Vejle for me @2.37

Under 2,5 goals is also very possible. @2.00

    Best of luck

  37. sean ireland 6 years ago

Not a great price but worth considering adding to any antepost multiples Liverpool to win no trophies 2018/19 season, haven’t won as much as sausage since 2006 and with eternal runner-up / loser Jurgen Plop in charge it could continue for a number of seasons yet. Season NAP Liverpool no trophies @ 2/5.Good luck.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Looks good, but sods law says he has to win one sooner or later.

Klopp’s a serial loser. He’ll be sacked before he wins a trophy at Liverpool and yet again, it won’t be Liverpool’s year. Leicester and Blackburn have more Premier League titles than Liverpool and will still have more Premier League titles than Liverpool in 12 months time

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Leicester and Blackburn may have more premier league titles thats true, but Liverpool have more champions league titles than every premier league team put together including Manchester United. How they would love our history.Klopp is a serial loser but still he’s one of the best Managers on the planet.

      maccathered
united have won every trophy liverpool have won ,but liverpool haven’t won ever trophy united have won ,PREMIERSHIP. plus its the premiership that means more to a player not the champions leauge, thats just a bonus.and how could klopp be the best manager on the planet if hes a serial loser.

    • elvis parsley 6 years ago

Champions league is a cup of non champions.
League title is won by 9 months of consistency, this Is what Liverpool haven’t grasped since the last century.
We know if every team plays 100℅ every week Liverpool this season can win the title but for me they have too many stars now, this sounds daft I know but you need a core of players to play every game especially through the spine of the team but with the tempo they play at this is impossible and he will be forced to play average Joe’s like shaquiri just to give the first 11 a break.

    Man Utd vs Leicester

It’s back and a good game on paper but this is Mourinho we are talking about who has great attacking options at his disposal but doesn’t let them attack!! The players are scared to lose the ball and when you have players like Rashford and Martial that can beat players it’s frustrating as a Man Utd fan!!

I’m hoping Jose goes all out and attacks tonight as I think we will be too strong for the foxes ?

Man Utd over 1.5 Team Goals

    8/11

This has landed in the last 5 matches between the two teams

  41. HullShaker 6 years ago

    Afternoon gents,

Great to see the ‘fans posting’ system up and running – can’t beat hearing/reading the thoughts of loyal club supporters about their own teams chances!

If my ould friend Marouanne gets the nod for a start I may well be tempted for the obligatory booking – cuurently 4/1 yellow and 28/1 red but will drop if he’s named for a start.

Other than that, I’m leaving the bright lights and overpaid players of the EPL far behind and heading for the relative but comforting poverty of the Paraguayan Profesional Division…

GENERAL DÍAZ VS. SPORTIVO LUQUEÑO (2230 KO):

Luqueno may well be the better side here and their 2nd top placed standing certainly reflects that in comparison to Diaz’ 2nd bottom.

    But!

I wouldn’t underestimate the hosts ability to grind something out; they may only have 2 points on the current board but they have seen out a large proportion of their games via draws – score draws to be precise.

5 of their last 6 games in all competitions have finished 1-1 and although that may be put down to pure chance, I’d be inclined to say it is as much a reflection of their style of play…worth noting that 2 of the last 8 H2H’s finished with that exact scoreline!

Diaz have failed to score only once in their last 15 games and with Luqueno on form having scored 2-4-3-2 team goals on their last 4 away days, I’d say there is a fair chance of goals for both sides – something that has gotten the green light in 70% of the last 10 H2H’s.

    Three selections to consider:

    DIAZ GOAL BEFORE 66:00…5/6
    (Bet365)
    ????

    BTTS…5/6
    (Bet365)
    ????

    CORRECT SCORE 1-1…5/1
    (Bet365)
    ?

    Best of luck ?

Of Mourinho’s 9 opening day of the season prem LG games he has won 8 losing none, let’s hope for history repeating tonight.BTW in no fan at all of his style of play or his character, just ain’t United at all.

    • alex_mufc83 6 years ago

Lets hope the players turn up. Sanchez certainly needs to prove the doubters wrong.

Can’t stand the negativity of Jose at all, in any business/team/industry negativity spreads like wildfire, it certainly doesn’t breed success. He’s the leader of the club, players are meant to look up to him and be inspired. Most united fans are getting sick and tired of it, he better not be full of it tonight.. transfer window is closed, now get the best out of what you’ve got on the training pitch.

      Looking forward to the game.

i loved jose when he came to england first he was a breath of fresh air, probably the only manager to put it up to fergie the king, ive disliked jose since he turned on the club doctor ,he got what he desereved from that .one thing is he will win trophys, first year with united he brought back three pieces of silverware.finished second last season, big improvement,so hopefully the premiership this year.

    • cockerspaniel 6 years ago

Iv`e disliked Jose since he was the manager of Porto, he won two European trophy`s in a row, but he did with a good team who cheated and rolled about as if they had a broken leg if a opposing player looked at them.. Having said that, i hope they win and score three goals tonight.

A little Icelandic in-play catches my eye and whilst I wouldn’t usually post these, it’s maybe worth a look:

    KÁRI VS. THRÓTTUR VOGAR (in-play):

I had this earmarked for a few goals and as we head into h/t at 0-0, I still think there’s mileage in 2nd half action.

Only 1 of the last 9 H2H’s has finished with less then 2 goals and Kari’s games in particular are rife – if there were ever a league that covets SHGS it’s the Icelandic one!

    BTTS 2ND HALF…11/8

Yeah great that so many were on it – it’s a cracking league. Another 35 rounds of fixtures to go ??⚽️

Hopefully anyone on the NAP cashed out before Valenciennes lost an equaliser in 88th minute

Magic Greg! Started following you on these Friday French bets last season. I decided this season to do the same bet every week 1st half goals 5 points and over 1.5 goals 15 points. That’s a good few weeks paid for already at the 40/1. Well done sir.

We fairly tanked his bottle of vodka.

  72. wasclueless 6 years ago

some cracking wins again on the thread today – WD all the winners

  73. hairyheid 6 years ago

Kisner won comfortably, unfortunately Molinari bogeyed the last for a 67 and tie Cantlay for a push on that leg, Brugge win 3-0…so winner reduced from 6-1 to 3-1, I’ll take it ?
WD all winners tonight, some crackers, especially @gregbrowning ?
    ——————————
Giving the uspga another bash, bet365 18-hole match-ups:
Kisner to beat Z Johnson 23-20
    Molinari to beat Cantlay 4-5

Also adding in Brugge -1.5AH 8-11
    Trebles pays ~6-1

Watched a fair bit of golf last night, thought Kisner was very solid 67, easily have been a couple better and Molinari finished very well after shaky start, +3 after 7 holes, finished with 68.
Good luck all with a bet on today ?

    • hairyheid 6 years ago

USPGA suspended due to weather at the minute, although possibly resume soon. Watching Mcilroys group and Mcilroy playing well without scoring…8 pars on the trot. Fancy him to pick up at least a couple of birdies on the easier back nine…bet365 in-play, Rory to shoot under 68.5, 10-11. It should reappear when play resumes but possibly worth a small stake (I’m doubling with Hulls Nap) Good luck ?

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Been keeping an eye on it but no bets yet – might start at 12.30am.

Nap Brugge win/over2.5 & United to win double @7/5 Wins…Liverpool playing catchup already Macca lol.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Lol the way United played at home is almost embarrasing, counter attacking football at home,a penalty that never was,Leicester deserved at least a draw.Having watched the full game i don’t think the top sides have anything to fear from United lol.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Man Utd started really well and crowd got behind them.
Reckon Mourinho will be happy just to get the win but Leicester are no mugs and will take points off many good teams.

    • sasaharv62 6 years ago

Don’t know how you can say it wasn’t a pen..Moved his arm towards ball..stonewaller….Then again i cant expect anything else from you Macca,At least we have the pleasure of you being wrong for once haha..ps,im not a Man utd supporter.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Not convinced it was a pen either – looked a bit harsh.
But everyone’s entitled to their opinion.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

      I said I wasn’t convinced – I didn’t say it wasn’t.
Anyway everyone thinks differently on these kind of decisions – all that matters is it was given.

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Yes mate i only just been able to get on.No joy with Leicester City,i thought they played well and deserved at least a draw,a penalty that never was, great saves from De Gea and Vardy’s missed sitter cost me the bet but thats football.

    • elvis parsley 6 years ago

Got to agree, we look no different to last season, lukaku 1st touch like an elephant, Sanchez strangely shackled again, rashford not playing in dangerous areas, de gea our best player and took Luke Shaw’s 1st ever goal to win it.
The new players already look weighed down by mourinhio’s tactics, he should be backing his players to express themselves but Jose’s fear of losing gets in the way.
