WHAT started off as a Super Sunday ended with a couple of disappointments.
My Super Single won at 6-5 and the first two legs of my trebles came in. But I ended an Everton goal short on one and a late penalty winner by Malaga beat the other.
Celta Vigo's loss was the sorest one as it also finished off the Betting Club £10 to £1000 challenge after I'd painstakingly built it to £123.
Well done to Greg who bounced back from Saturday with a nice 6-1 goals fourfold.
So we move on to Monday and in the next two days my main mission will be to return the Super Singles total to profit while maintaining good figures on the accumulators.
Tonight's Premier League offering between Burnley and Newcastle could be a low-scoring draw while unbeaten Inter Milan should win well at lowly Verona.
The Inter game is one many will focus on and they'll be desperate to win and move back to within two points of leaders Napoli in what's shaping up to be a fascinating race for the title.
Inter have never lost away to Verona – winning five and drawing two. Five have gone over 2.5 goals and they have netted 2+ in six of them.
Verona sit second bottom with one win this season and that was 1-0 against Benevento who everyone has beaten. Backing Inter seems a no-brainer and they are a best 2-5 at William Hill.
For a Super Single I looked at Inter -1 at 5-4 with betfair but have decided to go with Inter and over 2.5 match goals at 19-20 with Ladbrokes.
I'll post a Celtic v Bayern Munich Champions League preview but for me Bayern are too big at 2-5. I'm doubling with Inter as it looks a nice even-money bet. My decision was made after Monday's papers reported Robert Lewandowski would be fit but he hasn't travelled and that's a boost for Celtic.
Frank Ribery and Thomas Muller are also out and Kwasi Olyere Wriedt is the only centre-forward in the squad. Boss Jupp Heynckes may therefore play with a false No.9 and there was such a gulf between the sides in Munich that I can't see past the Germans even with their injury problems.
In Spain Las Palmas entertain Deportivo four days after thrashing them away in the cup and Espanyol entertain Real Betis. I fancy goals at Espanyol with Betis matches averaging four a game – recent results include a 4-4 draw at Sociedad and 6-3 defeat at home to Valencia.
I agreed last night with Elvis Parsley's preview of Portimonense v Setubal and going for over 2.5 match goals. Portimonense's last six have gone over 2.4 including 3-3, 2-2 and 2-5 in their previous three.
Finally complete the treble with Newcastle not to lose at Turf Moor. Looks a close contest but Rafael Benitez's men have started well and before the weekend sat sixth which is a good effort for a promoted team. Defensively they have been tight and while under 2.5 goals is an option I'm backing Newcastle not to lose.

Like I said, Turf Moor can a tough gig but it’s a fickle beast this Premier League football and Newcastle’s style and mentality is potentially more likely to make an impact than other ‘bigger’ sides whose set-ups are thwarted by

I’ll second that Wato, the times i’ve added a 1/7 selection to a 5/6 to get it to Evens, only to then see the short one beat the bet. Taken a few times to learn that lesson! Its a lot of bets to get right without failure but from memory Nathan Ufton on here has a solid approach at doing it
@davel yeah it’s amazing how often it happens. I remember giving something like that a go a while back just for an interest starting small and with very low odds. I got to game number two using a strategy of I think it was under 5.5 goals and a match in the Spanish second division which pointed towards not many goals. You guessed it the game finished 5-2 or something crazy lol so I failed miserably before I even began. If Ross completes that I will be the first to applaud but it’s going to be very difficult.

This game was always one I had a feeling celtic could get a point from, and the news out today that they will be without muller and lewandowski on top of those who are already missing increases my confidence. To be fair Lewandowski being out makes a difference and this morning he was supposed to be in.
