IT'S all about the Europa League tonight with Celtic, Rangers and Burnley aiming to reach the groups stages.

The Scots are massive favourites to go through and should do so but I can't see Burnley overturning a 3-1 deficit to Olympiakos. A 2-0 win will see them qualify but they haven't won any of their five ties inside 90 minutes and maybe the club are beginning to realise how badly a Euro run will affect Premier League form.
Rangers to score at Ufa and Celtic -1 at home to Suduva pays just over evens and I'm putting it up as a Super Single. Celtic will probably be without Moussa Dembele as Lyon step up their bid for the striker but should have enough quality to cope with the Lithuanians.
Other games of interest are Copenhagen v Atalanta and RB Leipzig v Zorya – and check out the separate match previews – as well as Molde v Zenit and Apollon v Basel.
On Wednesday I was a goal away from landing my treble to getting close. BATE were the team to beat me. Well done to al the winners.
My Super Single is a double and it's reasoned on a separate preview and I've added a both to score treble.
Start with Molde v Zenit with the Russians leading 3-1 after coming from behind last week. Zenit have been living on the edge in the competition but feel one away goal should be enough. Molde are a decent attacking unit who beat Hibs 3-0 at home but they've conceded nine in three games which must be a worry.
Next up it's Midtjylland v Malmo. It was 2-2 in Sweden and this should be another closely-fought affair with plenty of goals. Midtjylland battled back well from 2-0 down and will feel they are favourites but Malmo are unbeaten in 14 and will give it a go.
Complete the treble with Brondby v Genk which was another high scorer in the first leg. Genk won a thriller 5-2 and are almost through but the Danes will push forward knowing the first goal will be vital. If the get it should be another goalfest.

2pts Both to Score Treble

  • Molde v Zenit (6pm)
  • Midtjylland v Malmo (6.15pm)

    Morning all….

Was one corner away (in PSV game) which in hindsight would have been the riskiest match..
    Champs league matches last night
    First half corners
At least 5 corners in each match
    6.29/1 treble Betway ..2/3❌

Quite a few meaningful 2nd legs in Europa tonight (but some teams will want it more than others!!) which could see similar 1st half corners ( may take >3.5 corners if available) will try and look more into stats later. B365 and Betway best for these but may not be up at moment.

    Good luck all today ??

    Besiktas v Partizan

Besiktas is having significant problems in defense. There is no harmony between Vida and Pepe yet also experienced goalkeeper Tolga [doubtful / injury] and new transfer Karius [not registered] will not able to play in this fixture so young goalkeeper Utku likely to play in this match. I think Besiktas will be more effective on offense than the first game, they have a clear system, uses both wings efficiently, scoring at least 2 goals at home shouldn’t be as difficult as the first match but I don’t trust their defense.
Partizan is young but inexperienced team but their offensive names can be effective that we have seen against both Nordsjaelland games.
That’s why I recommend goals at first.

Both teams to score & over 2.5 goals
Besiktas to score over 1.5 team goals
Besiktas win & over 2.5 goals

    ——

    Copenhagen v Atalanta

Fatigue could be disadvantage for Atalanta [vs Roma/Monday], we should see balanced game at first half and most fluent football in second half. Copenhagen got the advantage by away goal and they are champions league experienced team , I don’t see Atalanta keeping clean sheet here , expecting home team to score in this one tho.

Copenhagen to score / Atalanta no clean sheet

Atalanta have the advantage as they only need to score,Copenhagen may well have to come out and these types of games Atalanta relish.

as you said if Atalanta needs to score, so Copenhagen is and they are at home.

  10. mr h 6 years ago

Celtic should put Suduva too the sword tonight having had 72% possession in the first leg but couldn’t convert chances just like Athens. With Dembele seemingly heading too the south of France and Edouard coming back from injury it will be Leigh Griffiths who leads the line and he’s a goal shy of 100 for the club. Goals and corners for me….

    Morning gents,

Away fishing in the Yorkshire wilds today/tonight – hit and miss signals but better since they erected the phone mast made from pipe cleaners and old pieces of iron from the mills.

One game that catches the eye for anyone looking for an earlier kick off and it comes from the Helinki ja Region of the Finnish Kolmonen…

    VJS VS. POHU (1715 KO):

VJS ought to be too much at home to a Pohu outfit who are living up to their name; the away side sit 2nd bottom and have accumulated an impressive run of 1 win in 15 matches whilst conceding 51 goals during the spell.

The highlight (well, lowlight if you’re lucky enough to be a Pohu supporter) was a 10 goal home thumping of 2-8 – the other team – you guessed it!

Back on home soil for the return match 3 months on, VJS sit 2nd place and could put a hatful past Pohu – I notice PP haven’t even listed the game amongst the other Kolmonen fixtures so that tells us a lot about their own expectation:

    GL 5.0,5.5…1.900

Does anyone have any idea why Rangers to win are priced so high? Only logic I can think of is due to the game being played in Russian & previous British success?

Rangers pretty cruised in the last game & an away goal tonight would likely see them through?

    Whats everyones thoughts?

Going to tip Rangers to win @ 15/8 with BET365.

    • mr h 6 years ago

Rangers should score but by no means should they be favourites on the night. This is very much still a team in transition despite the supposed early undefeated success which still leaves them behind Celtic in the league. I said before there’s too many folks getting excited about Gerrards team when they’ve achieved nothing so far. The acid test is Sunday. BTTS is the shout for me in Russia and hopefully Rangers progress

    • chirry 6 years ago

Disagree with the “achieved nothing” quote, their europa qualifying campaign has been impressive considering the team had only been together a matter of weeks

    • ausie11 6 years ago

They’ve hardly came up against tough opposition. If they go out tonight have they still achieved something?

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

It’s a big achievement for Rangers to reach the group stages – they’ve had to come through 4 ties, some tough ones in there, with a new team and a rookie boss. Gerrard has faced adversity and come through it and even at this stage looks like he’ll be a really good manager. Lucky Liverpool!

    • cockerspaniel 6 years ago

A draw would suit Rangers harleec. It`s a tough call imo. Good luck.

    • harleec7 6 years ago

I’ve got no idea what Rangers strongest line up would be, anything to look out for?

    • maccathered 6 years ago

Best bet would be to leave well alone,.

    • mr h 6 years ago

Chirry what have they achieved? They’ve beaten St Mirren, Shkupi, Osijek, Maribor and Ufa once each and drawn with Aberdeen, Motherwell, Osijek, Maribor and Shkupi. Despite this terrific start they still find themselves a point behind Celtic and with a tougher route too the group stages. Sure Rangers have improved but that wouldn’t have been too hard given the comical appointments since Warburton left in a storm and the drubbings left, right and centre against Celtic. Let’s not forget the aggregate scores since Rangers return too the top flight stands at 30-6 in 10 meetings. There’s only 1 winner this season again but it will be tougher guarenteed

    • mr h 6 years ago

      GK – big sh@gs Macgregor
      DEF- Flanagan, Taverner, Goldson, Katic
MID – Arfield, Jack, Kent, Ejaria, Candeias
      FWD – Lafferty, Morales

    • harleec7 6 years ago

Thank you for the heads up. Still going to go for the win, nothing heavy.

      Might also re-bet whilst in-play.

    • mr h 6 years ago

That’s eleven outfield players harleec so expect Lafferty or Morales sit out with one up top and 5 across the middle

  15. GregBrowning 6 years ago

    Morning gents

Anoher Thursday and another set of Europa League Qaulifers to get stuck into – 2nd legs always tend to be more open affairs for obvious reasons and their a quite a few games that look good for goals

    Molde v Zenit KO 6pm

Since knocking out Hibs, Molde have shipped 3 goals in each of their last three matches and that included a 3-1 first leg defeat in Russia last Thursday. they have it all to do tonight and know a Zenit goal all buts ends the tie but they’ll need to attack to over turn this deficit. Can see them scoring at least once but that said, Zenit since they were hammered 4-0 in the last round first leg by Dinamo Minsk, they have been terrific and are more than capabale of grabbing another few goals here. Should be a good game with both sides contributing to goals

    Brondby v Genk KO 7.30pm

Another side with it all to do is Danish side Brondby who were blowen away 5-2 in Beluim last week.. They are strong at home though and have only lost once in their last 11 Europa league matches at (I’m sure JohnB will remember it well) They need to go for it and they could well play into Genk’s hands, a side who are absoltuely flying at the moement on all fronts. They are top of their domestic league and have won 9 of their 10 competitive games this season (drew the other). Again expecting goals here from both sides

Back over 2.5 match goals double 6/4 (Bet365) (NAP)

    ***********************************************************************************

Skybet special – will be on the usual 1st half goals and over 1.5 match goals in the later kick offs today but one bet i really like the look of is total match goals accross the 9 games kicking off from 7pm

These include the Brondy, Bordeuax, Celtic, seville and Rapid Vienna matches, all of which should see goals to get us on our way to the 25+ goals being offered – its less than 3 goals per game and i fully expect some of these games to see 4-5 goals

Back 25+ goals to be scored 4/5
back 27+ goals to be scored 11/8

bordeuax v gent BTTS – evens

    Genk over 1.5 team goals – 5/6

RB leipzig win & under 3.5 – evens

    Apollon v basel – under 2.5 – evens

will back as singles and a four fold for about 14/1

    good luck

    • jjy1992 6 years ago

mixed bag for me & a stark reminder of how erratic the europa league is

2 winners , 3 losers certainly nothing to write home about

RB leipzig were incredibly lucky to even win their game watching them try to defend was comical at times based on what ive seen tonight i think id back cheltenham town to score 2+ against them

just finished watching bordeaux & gent …..ok game …..gent’s build up and delivery was absolutely horiffic and painfull to watch at times no idea how they score so many goals domestically probably best they go out now

i can’t see bordeaux setting the world or the competition alight either …..the words “hook & crook” come to mind

they could be due a crash in ligue 1 soon

      congrats to anyone who profited

  19. williegee 6 years ago

Hi Guys, Can’t see many goals happening in the Rangers game tonight. FC Ufa, in last 10 games, have drawn a blank in 7 games, scoring 4 against a weak Luxembourg outfit over 2 games, and 1 against NK Domzale . Of their last 6 home games F C Ufa have failed to score on 4 occasions, only scoring against aforementioned Luxembourg outfit and bottom of the table Anzi. Rangers 3 away ties in Europe have only produced 1 goal, so feel this tie will be a tight affair, as Rangers being 1 goal up don’t really need to score.

Back on home soil for the return match 3 months on, VJS sit 2nd place and could put a hatful past Pohu – I notice PP haven’t even listed the game amongst the other Kolmonen fixtures so that tells us a lot about their own expectation:

    One for the early evening…

CARLOS MANUCCI VS. WILLY SERRATO (2130 KO):

Somethings up in the Peruvian Segunda and life’s becoming more difficult every game for the travelling side.

Not only are they named after a hideous sounding STD but they are having an absolute shocker of a season.

With just 2 wins in 21 games, Serrato have conceded 52 goals in their last consecutive 15 matches.

The fact they have been hit with scorelines of 1-4, 8-0, 6-2 and 7-0 in the last 8 games spells out a big SOS and I reckon a solid Manucci side will smell blood here – just over 12 months ago they beat Serrato 5-2 in their last home H2H and it doesn’t bode well once again.

@mr-fixit , I’ve had one eye on a team in the lower divisions and results for them have played pretty much how I’d of thought.
    Lincoln.
They’re Top of the league having won 4, drawn 1 from 5 league games, won the 1st round leg of the League cup but got hammered by Blackburn in the 2nd round. – Expected given there’s a gap of 1 league between them.
We they signed former Derby central defender Jason Shackell. He was our player of the season in his first stint/season with us and we sold him on the cheap to Burnley – who went up that season. Burnley were immense at the back. They had a season in the top flight, Shackell had a few injuries, never really got much of a sniff in the top flight and Derby re-signed him the following year – 2017/18 season. Injuries hampered his chances at Derby, but I believe he was on good money, ” we ” – balancing books – released him. Hence he ended up at Lincoln.
His introduction to the Lincoln team came via the subs bench in the 2nd league game. Having already won their opener, they then went on and won that 2nd game 4-1.
Disregarding the Blackburn result, they’re having some stellar football. They’re playing away to Exeter in third spot – they’re having a good start to their campaign, but Shackell for me is the reason Lincoln are doing so well. That was a damn good free signing from their management, if he stays injury free, he’s a solid championship level central defender and Lincoln could be in amongst that race for promotion to the championship.
Lincoln are 31/20 with bet365 to do the bizz away at Exeter. I have my in-play Derby double double still to ride, but I might just drop a cheeky tenner on another double, Derby win to nil @ 7/2 and Exeter win @ 31/20. I’ve not shopped around, they’re bet365‘s prices, I’m sure there’s better prices.
Incidentally, Derby and Hull fielded weakened teams on Tuesday, Derby’s team was still very very strong. Hulls gate was only 4600 or so, the fans are happy, Derby know how to play against them at their ground and Hull have not scored against Derby at Hull in 4 attempts in all competitions. 1 draw last year ended 0-0. the rest have been wins to nil for the rams. Hull have not won at home in the last 6 games, they’ve lost the last 3 at home in all competitions and their fans have voted with their feet midweek against the new owners. Hull don’t look like a happy side.
    Derby’s price has started to fall guys. They’re now 31/20 @bet365 .
If you guys fancy a cheeky 1pt double, follow my lead on the above 2 picks for Saturday. A £10 stake returns around £65.

    • nathanufton 6 years ago

My bad, forgot to edit before posting, Lincoln are in League 2 not League 1. So Shackell is playing between 2 and 3 levels down where he’s capable of.

    • nathanufton 6 years ago

Sorry, fat fingers, the Hull fans are NOT happy. Lol

    • nathanufton 6 years ago

Aaaargh, made a few mistakes in this post. The straight Derby/Lincoln double – both at 31/20 each pays around £65 from a tenner, but a ten on the Derby win to nil/Lincoln win – prices up to date on bet365 @ 10/3 and 31/20 to give a combined double price of 10.05/1 or £10 to return £110.50

I’m not quite as sharp right now, but my accuracy/stats and prices will be back up to speed long before the weekend.

    • Mr Fixit 6 years ago

Cheers, Lincoln are on my aways shortlist with Derby – that currently numbers 7.

The Night Owl sees me punting in Paraguay on what may not be the most thrilling game ever but one that still a chance of some value…

LIBERTAD VS. BOCA JUNIORS (2330 KO):

Boca hit this 2nd leg with a 0-2 advantage after a comprehensive home tie in Argentina and I’d assume they’d try and snuff out the fun from this one.

    But!

Paraguayan football may not (yet) be at the Argentinian level however, they are no mugs and Libertad are certainly one of the better sides and have hit a decent spell of form particularly at their Asuncion home.

I’m taking on a speculative pick on the basis of the above and the fact that Libertad simply have to go for it thus either scoring and putting the onus back on Boca or leaving themselves wide open:
