THERE have been plenty of shocks in the Women's World Cup and Copa America but when it came to the crunch the tournament favourites won both finals.
I did a simple double on USA Women and Brazil and both covered the -1 handicap although 10-man Brazil suffered a few scares before getting over the line.
My double gave me a profit of 2.7pts but I lost 0.5pts covering the Brazil result before their late third.
Well done to all the winners on Sunday and there were plenty. It's not been the easiest of close seasons but “real football” is just around the corner with the likes of Celtic and Rangers in European action on Tuesday and the Betfred Cup.

Profit for the day as the main bet lands comfortably enough! Felt a bit hard done by with the 17/10 and 3/1 bets – I thought Pella might cause an upset against Raonic but played it more cautiously and paid the price! Pella was out of sorts for the first two sets losing both. Not quite sure what was wrong with him but he was popping pills half way through the 2nd set.
