EVERY time I see Alaves on a coupon I can't help thinking of alves who is a regular contributor to the site.
I always wonder if he backs them and now and again swaps his Hoops top for an Alaves shirt.
Anyway I digress – the Spaniards have started the league brilliantly and have won three in a row including a 5-1 rout at Vallecano at the weekend.
After Wednesday's shock defeats for Barcelona and Real Madrid there is an incentive for Alaves to join the giants at the top of the tables and they should make it four in a row at home to Getafe – and if you prefer take them draw no bet as they are a decent price.
They're on a treble with Benfica -1AH at Chaves where they have won to nil the past two seasons. Benfica have dropped two points in their first five to lead the away and should stay in front of rivals Porto. A straight Benfica win isn't much shorter so that's an alternative.
Complete the treble with AIK at Gothenburg as they close in on the Swedish title. AIK are six points clear of Norrkoping after seeing off previous closest rivals Hammarby and face a side in poor form and just five points above the drop zone.
Elsewhere on Thursday there are two Serie A games – SPAL v Sassuolo and Empoli v Milan – and two more in La Liga as Girona tackle Betis and Valladolid take on Levante.
The treble is likely to be my only bet as I've got the funeral at lunchtime.
Yesterday my good run on the Super Singles continued with an over 2.5 goals win in games at Rangers and Sevilla although I didn't expect Real Madrid not to score. My two trebles were losers so it was a break-even day.

Chelsea v Liverpool
I grew up on the terraces at Griffin Park with my dad as a Brentford fan as they mucked about in the lower leagues. The story goes that I felt left out at school as all my friends supported United, Arsenal and the other PL powerhouses, so I took a shine to my Uncle’s first love Chelsea FC. Years later, I’m forever justifying why I support two clubs but it has at least given me a good bit of knowledge about either side.
Watching last night’s game at Anfield, I’m sure my perception of the game might differ slightly to Macca’s given my blue tinted specs. Both sides certainly were far from their full-strength, but I was surprised at how well Chelsea controlled the ball in the first half an hour or so. The squad has clearly taken to Sarri’s philosophy far quicker than I could’ve imagined and seeing us going to Anfield to ‘play’ was a breath of fresh air.
However, what last night also reaffirmed is where Chelsea are currently struggling with the philosophy – losing the ball in dangerous areas when playing out from the back. Granted, Christensen, Cahill and Azpi aren’t the most dependable ball playing defenders, but the mistakes last night were innumerable. A Liverpool fan would view their side as pressing well and forcing errors, but either way a large portion of their clear cut chances came from Chelsea defenders (and Ross Barkley) surrendering possession in dangerous areas.
Admittedly, Luiz and (hopefully) Rudiger will return to the side on Saturday, but the flaw is still there no matter who lines up in the back 4. It was evident against Arsenal at the Bridge earlier this season when, if not for some dire finishing, the Gunners could’ve scored a sackful before half time. If there’s any side that will press and take advantage of a susceptible, ball-playing back line like Chelsea’s, it’s this Liverpool side.
It’s certain that Sarri will not budge from his philosophy no matter the opponent. Though I’d be more comfortable of Liverpool’s first 30 minute ‘blitz’ occurring at Anfield, I still think they will cause Chelsea real problems on Saturday once they field their strongest XI.
I’d be all over goals in this one, but my only worry is Liverpool’s stronger defence coupled with them being a little more streetwise in big games now might mean that Chelsea struggle to contribute. Instead, I’m on Liverpool at what I think, if I’m betting with my head, is a reasonable price.

Afternoon Guys been a busy week for me but i had time to check on today games and one game caught my eyes in fact two games caught my fancy, the games between KALMAR VS HACKEN, and EMPOLI VS AC MILAN; lets start with hacken who are currently flying with more than 2 match goals scored per match at home or playing away from home, with kalmar conceding goals and losing the last 4 and drawing their last game you can tell they are struggling, and with current form on the visitors i cant see past more than 3 goals scored here.
