Top Football Tips

I PUT the mockers on Duvan Zapata but at least his Atalanta side won to help land my Super Single double.

Zapata failed to score for the first time in 11 games but a 1-0 was enough for me having been doubled with Rayo Vallecano to score at home to Leganes.

Zapata was in anytime scorer double with Mo Salah for a 1pt loss and another 1pt went on the speculative 16-1 treble that was offering a profit after Rayo levelled against 10-man Leganes before conceding again.

It was a good night for Greg with his Belgian reserve goals and well done to all the winners.

It's a bit busier on Tuesday but the card lacks qualify. There are four FA Cup replays – Brentford v Barnet, Newport v Middlesbrough, QPR v Portsmouth and Wolves v Shrewsbury.

As always with cup games teams news is vital so check before having a bet. I'm chancing an FA Cup treble starting with QPR draw no bet at home to Portsmouth. QPR did well to draw away to Portsmouth and should now beat a League One side whose promotion hopes are suffering after failing to win since New Year's Day.

Add Newport to score at home to Middlesbrough. They kept the tie alive with an injury-time equaliser at the Riverside and won't give their visitors a warm welcome. Rodney Parade is a tough place to go and Newport have lost just one in 14 on home soil. Could win this but I'm taking them at a decent price to score.

Complete the treble with over 2.5 goals at Brentford v Barnet. The first meeting was a 3-3 thriller and I expect more of the same. Brentford's last four games have totalled 23 goals and Barnet's last four have produced 19 including another 3-3 draw with Carshalton at the weekend.

My other bet is a both to score treble starting with Stranraer v Stenhousemuir in Scottish League One. Stranraer's last four have gone this way – all defeats – as have three of the previous four meetings. Stenny have netted in 12 of their last 13 including two Scottish Cup meetings with Aberdeen.
Add cup games in France and Germany – both based on stats. I'm most confident about Borussia Dortmund v Werder Bremen with both teams scoring 10 of the last 11 meetings. Dortmund are flying high at the top of the Bundesliga with an almost perfect home record but are likely to make changes.
Bremen have their last six visits to Dortmund but have scored in five of them – a total of 10 and losses have included a 4-3 and two 3-2s so the fixture has a clear history of goals.
Just two points split Nantes and Toulouse in Ligue 1 so this should be closely fought. Nantes won 4-0 at home last October but prior to that the previous five saw both scoring – three 2-1s and two 1-1s.

2pts FA Cup Treble

  • QPR draw no bet
  • Newport to score
  • Brentford v Barnet over 2.5 goals
  • (27-10, Coral)

2pt Both to Score Treble

  • Nantes v Toulouse (5.30pm)
  • Stranraer v Stenhousemuir
  • Borussia Dortmund v Werder Bremen (8.45pm)
  • (4-1, sportingbet)

One for tomorrow night that is a banker stonewall
    Everton v Man City
Man City to win -1.5 asian handicap at 1.880******(NAP)
Man City aren’t happy at playing this fixture midweek but it is so they can fit in the league cup final into their schedule. Now if i were City i would be happy they have two things going for them here, firstly they are playing Everton WHO WILL rollover for them as it will help them knock Liverpool off top spot,Everton hate Liverpool and vice versa, secondly it gives them chance of tasting top spot if only for a few days,City should cover the handicap here with something to spare.
    Best of luck

    • sean567 5 years ago

Looks very easy money that. I think city will batter them

    • maccathered 5 years ago

They will sean, and like i said the fact it is Everton ,you won’t see an easier bet all season.

    • jimba 5 years ago

Agree maca City will win this comfortably.

    • sean567 5 years ago

I said last look out for city to score 4 or 5, ill be having some smaller stakes on that. -2 asian for a bigger bet

    • wanwirsiy 5 years ago

Thanks Maccathered, I will join u in buying money.

    • Mr Fixit 5 years ago

Everton won’t roll over but in my opinion they’ll lose by at least two so agree with the tip.
Teams look after themselves these days so they won’t go down on purpose to hit Liverpool.

    • maccathered 5 years ago

Mr f,this is Everton mate.Liverpool and Everton are bigger rivals than Man Utd,Everton hate Liverpool and vice versa,if Everton have the chance to see Liverpool off the top spot they will quite gladly gift City the win,you wouldn’t understand what it would mean to Everton knowing they haven’t done Liverpool any favours, you will see that in the Everton performance tomorrow night.

    • anton 5 years ago

The Everton players won’t roll over but will take a beating from City. The supporters, on the other hand, will gladly give City the 3 points,

    • maccathered 5 years ago

The Everton players will rollover, absolutely. It wouldn’t surprise me if they played a weakened team.

    • anton 5 years ago

Silly statement. The players have no true connection to the club or City. They are there for the money. Paranoia creeping in.

    • maccathered 5 years ago

Not at all,i know what i’m talking about even if you don’t get the jist.

    • alex_mufc83 5 years ago

not being funny here, but saying Everton will simply ‘roll-over’ without trying their best and City beating them fair and square almost sounds like getting excuses in early.
Everton and the Marco Silva are under tons of pressure to turn things around so will try their best, but expect City dominance and agree with your tip.

    • sean567 5 years ago

the form both clubs are in, I think its fair to say most people would expect city to smash them regardless.

    • alva glen 5 years ago

Of course Everton wont lie down what tosh. They are a poor lot tho.

    • Mr Fixit 5 years ago

No chance – Everton will want to win for themselves.
As someone said hardly any of the players are Everton fans – they’re there for the money and bonuses.

    • alva glen 5 years ago

Mr F , exactly like the rest of the teams too.

    • maccathered 5 years ago

You know better mr f,your from the city

    • Mr Fixit 5 years ago

Wouldn’t happen up here unless it was a dead game – like when Aberdeen won at Celtic last season.
I don’t think Everton can afford to lie down to anyone and their manager won’t allow it.
Also the result tomorrow won’t decide anything – it’s still all to play for.
Having said that Man City should win comfortably by being better than Everton.

    • oneoff 5 years ago

Goodison park will not be bothered if we lose Wednesday and that atmosphere can be passed on to the players.the intensity might not be there not like when the crowd are behind your team.i know what your saying macca

    • oneoff 5 years ago

      Plus were crap haha

    • maccathered 5 years ago

Carragher said the same as i have said on here last night,”we won’t expect Everton to put a shift in”,it’s not rocket science.

    • Mr Fixit 5 years ago

If Everton don’t try it’s a disgrace and they should be hammered.

    • oneoff 5 years ago

Your right about the players not rolling over but were crap and the fans won’t be pushing the team

    • evens knievens 5 years ago

I think anyone who thinks Everton will roll over is just using Alex Ferguson type psychological tosh to try and get Everton hyped up for the benefit of LFC. Not really a surprise if Carragher makes that comment as he would obviously like to goad Everton into giving 100% and pulling off a shock.

If City win (and statistically and form wise they should), it will be because they are the better (and more expensively assembled) side and they have gone into the game fully focused.

If they are not completely in the zone, then Everton are capable of getting something.
They are not that bad and I for one would be very nervous about the outcome of this game if it was the last one required on a big accumulator.

    • maccathered 5 years ago

Carragher is an avid Everton supporter.

    • oneoff 5 years ago

Yeah city by far the better everthing but what were saying is the fans don’t really care if everton win or lose.so this can be passed onto the team in the stadium.

  12. mr h 5 years ago

It’s no very often that I think bookies price a game wrong but I’m struggling too understand the odds in a game in the AFC Champions League. Singaporean Home United v Persija of Indonesia, these 2 met in the AFC Cup zonal semifinals last season and Home United won 3-1 away then 3-2 at home on their way too the overall semi final. The bookies have Home United 11/4 outsiders at home and that in itself is to big given the H2H from just 8/9 months ago so recent enough to matter. That tag as outsiders allows a generous price on team goals and to score 2+ it’s odds against 5/4 which they managed both home and away in the AFC Cup. Home United have scored in 48 of their last 54 home games in all competition, Persija have scored in 19 & conceded in 16 of their last 21 aways. BTTS & o2.5gls should land at 4/6 but 5/4 for 2 home goals is generous

    Home United o1.5tgls 5/4

    Bigger odds

    Home United win & o3.5mgls 11/2

    • GigiKenzo 5 years ago

Spotted it strange too Mr. H but i reckon it might be down to the fact Home united’s last game was a cup match at the start of october last year and their form up to that was patchy while Persi has been active up till date with a better form.

    • mr h 5 years ago

I looked at the dates of their recent games too Gigi, from what I can gather both teams are preseason for their respective leagues starting in March and April. Persija have played a couple recently and my understanding is they were domestic cup games against lower league opposition, kinda like the group stages of Scotlands league cup. Surely Home United will have had friendlies or such that aren’t listed lol

    • GigiKenzo 5 years ago

Certainly. Can’t be doing nothing for 4 months

    • mr h 5 years ago

Gigi I just had another look and as you said Home United ended the season with a few defeats but 2 of those were cup games against unbeaten 3 in a row league winners Albirex Nigata. Home United actually had a good season and finished best of the rest in 2nd hence their participation in the champions league. Goals are surely on the menu

  13. alex_mufc83 5 years ago

just a heads up my nap for the weekend is going to be Stockport County to get a result away at Guiseley. regular followers on the site will know i’ve been backing them every week since mid-December and they’ve certainly delivered, consistently. avoided backing the cup game vs league-above Harrogate away as thought it could be a banana skin, but they turned Harrogate over 4-2. some result that.
depending on odds will be taking the straight win for County, possibly team goals too.

  15. alex_mufc83 5 years ago

    –Single–
    Brentford v Barnet

Brentford expected to see this tie off at home tonight, but given Barnet’s performance in the 1st leg, I can see them getting on the scoresheet again tonight. Brentford are fairly leaky at the back and tend to concede more often than not. Barnet have nothing to lose here and everything to play for, for a place in the next round. The odds for both teams to score is generous considering.

Celtic 3 tg’s 6/5 nap. Celtic 4 tg’s 3/1 nb. Only concern would be James Forrest out injured. Maybe push Burke wide right and Johnstone through the middle. Hibs losing Neil Lennon could dismantle there season.

    • mr h 5 years ago

If Forrest is out then you’d expect Burke wide right as you said but I reckon Weah will start through the middle tomorrow after another impressive cameo at St Johnstone. Hibs could take a beating tomorrow night and but for the injuries it could have been 5 or 6

I would go with Weah to just think manager might give Johnstone a run out first half. Weah is flying and Turned the game when he came off the bench at St.johnstone but Celtic had run the guts out them and just before the subs were made you could see Celts goals coming. Hibs really could get battered if Celtic go all out in this game, if we score early then a cricket score is on the cards.

    • mr h 5 years ago

Its times like this that indicate the strength in depth that will carry Celtic onto the title. Tierney, Boyata, Benkovic, Ntcham, Rogic, Griffiths, Edouard all injured for tomorrow and possibly Forrest & Christie too. Thats 7 top end first team players missing and potentially our 2 most creative outlets in Christie and Forrest. But there’s still Brown, Bitton, Macgregor, Sinclair, Burke, Johnston and Weah too call on from midfield to front.

Can you imagine a Rangers side without 7 of the following 9 for any period of time….Tavernier, Goldson, Katic, Davis, Arfield, Kent, Candeais, Defoe and Morales. Every game from here on in is a must win for Rangers until the next Old Firm game which is most definitely a no lose scenario

    • alva glen 5 years ago

No I cant imagine it so that’s what it is imagination.Of course Rangers know they cant afford slip ups but they must be delighted they are right in the mix at this stage.

    • sean567 5 years ago

Forrest won’t play and if you start with both weah and Burke then it doesn’t really leave a centre forward to come off the bench later if it needs changed. I think Hayes or Johnston will start on the wing with Burke up top.

  18. micky belfast 5 years ago

Any1 know what bookie would do man city win league + man u top 4 double? Checked a couple but they are just letting me do singles

    • Mr Fixit 5 years ago

You’d probably need to ask for a price.

    • aarron19888 5 years ago

WH has some interesting your odds future markets,

2/1 for ole to be permanent manager and man utd top 4 – so 0 value tbh

man utd to finish above spurs 4/1

this is laughable – higuian to score over 15.5 prem league goals 18/19 season – 6/1 – LAUGHABLE, same price for liverpool 3rd.

sometimes I do think the bookies are at it.

this is a v v v nice bet, aguero to score 260 plus career prem league goals 20/1 – this is the only one i’d chuck £ at.

    • sean567 5 years ago

I think he has 157 in 7.5 years. so at his current rate hed need to play for another 5 year and continue scoring like he does just now. at 30, cant see it happening

    • aarron19888 5 years ago

if he hits the most he has hit in a season in the prem – which is 26, in 2015 season, – so another 12 this season – which is do able, as they will probably win the league and he will possibly be the leagues top goalscorer, then really maths wise he COULD land this bet over the next 3/4 seasons – so deffo worth a stab

    • newts68 5 years ago

      Are you having a laugh.
No value in Ole being permanent manager and united top 4 at 2/1.

Bit of an early one for the weekend but West Brom look a cracking price to win at Stoke this weekend @ 19/10. Stoke have lost 3 out of their last 4 home games. West Brom have won 5 out of their past 6 away games in the league, when teams don’t put 11 men behind the ball like they do at the Hawthorns.

The only concern is West Brom having a mid week game against Brighton. At least if it’s level after 90 minutes it goes straight to penos. If it weren’t for this game I’d be lumping on but it still seems like a good price for a more conservative bet.

Huge night in the Scottish Premiership tomorrow

All eyes will be on the Aberdeen vs Rangers game (and Hamilton vs St Johnstone :) )

Rangers game really tough to call – its absolutely must win for Rangers, every game for them now is a cup final and I think they may sneak it – going to have a look at the bookings markets as it should be pretty tasty

My NAP for Wednesday is going to be St Johnstone to beat Hamilton – our record against the bottom 6 teams is fantastic and our record against Hamilton is even better. Have probably tipped us to win more times this season than the previous 3 or 4 combined .

Won the last 7 games against Hamilton, just one defeat in 14 against them – we are head and shoulders above them in terms of quality. Be desperately disappointed and surprised if we didn’t get three points tomorrow night

Delighted the bookies are underestimating us as we should never be as big as 11/10 against a team we have owned for the last 4 season and are a massive 22 points ahead, yes, 22 points

    Wedneday’s NAP

St Johnstone to beat Hamilton 11/10 (Betfred)

You have to be kidding me! Within the space of 2.5 hours Betfair have slashed the odds on the selections i had picked out, i only managed to place one bet, the others i was double checking when i got in from work.

My main selections were going to be on:
Over 40 booking points, was 6/5, now the market has changed to Over 60 booking points (in line with other bookmakers)
Card to be issued after 75:00, was 1/2, now 1/4

Managed to get on McCrorie to be carded 4/1, now 11/5 (best priced now with WH 7/2)

Raging i’ve missed out as they clearly hadn’t done any research with the original prices.

    • fraser51 5 years ago

As posted on Monday, i will be on Shinnie to be carded, betfair were top price of 6/4 but cut into 13/10, mcbookie now best price at 29/20 but i am waiting on bet365 pricing. They can be generous at times, fingers crossed they are.

    Ad vocem to Greg Browning.

    Hello!

Sorry but I cannot understand you…did I said something wrong?no way!just mentioned that maybe
you could post something more..The idea of Belgium Beloften is okay tough…
Actually I played ov 3.5 mgs treble..If you want to stick only to your NAP only it’s fine. Maybe you
bet large amount of money..My stake was 20 quid @ 7.6/1..
    Good luck!

An example from today’s card Dortmud-Bremen is very likely -BTTS game, one could say is a NAP
but it’s also BTTS & ov 2.5 mgs shot as well as Dortmund- win/BTTS…

So just chill out and continue doing your gret job.Good Luck!

i have already said that there will be a lot of twists and turns in the run in to the premiership title, last night i thought west ham would have beaten liverpool in which they should have robbed by the linesman ,im going for the draw tomorrow night everton v city 5/1 .i can’t see everton rolling over think its a stupid for macca to say so .bit of praying going on there i think.

    • maccathered 5 years ago

Praying for what.Liverpool have pretty much handed the title to City i am under no illusion as to where the title is going and isn’t Liverpool.Liverpools race is ran in that respect. As for Everton not rolling over and calling me stupid for saying it is unfair as i know 100% that Everton will not give their all tomorrow night.

Barnet get their goal, despite the expected drubbing from Brentford

    29/20 ladbrokes (boosted price)

    HOWEVER……………………
If you placed the bet at ladbrokes as I suggested you will have been paid out as a winner. I don’t know why, but I have and it’s not the first time this has happened. I also had a game finish 1-1 before and they paid out. I think it depends on which bit you choose to back the goals. (There’s a 2+ section, but also an over 1.5 bit.) I think they are getting the over 1.5 bit mixed up with match goals personally but who knows. For gods sake no one tell them 😂😂👍🏻
