I SAID Saturday would be a tough day and that's how it proved although I just about broke even.
My Super Single won at 6-5 while the moneyback fivefold gave me my stake back for four out of five. On my other three trebles I had two out of three correct.
I have to give credit to cockerspaniel for the Hamilton not to lose Super Single when he pointed out they were too big at 9-2 at home to Kilmarnock. Indeed they were and won 2-0.
Well done to all the winners although there weren't many. Desmond landed a both to score double but I didn't see too many others. However, on his Motherwell vs Celtic preview SlipsTips had three winners out of three so well done there.
On Sunday there are some decent games to look at including Newcastle v Arsenal, Man United v Chelsea and Leicester v Wolves as well as Rangers v Hibs and St Mirren v Aberdeen in the Premiership.
Its's a tough start for Man United after criticism of their transfer policy as we see the first meeting of big six teams on the opening weekend.
Newcastle, under Steve Bruce, face an even more difficult task and while Leicester v Wolves is tough to call I wonder if Wolves' midweek Euro trip will help or hinder their performance.
There should be wins for Rangers and Aberdeen but again both faced Euro travels last Thursday.
Greg's Nap is Rangers and over 1.5 goals and I agree it could be a high scorer. Even at this stage Rangers need to win after Celtic's flying start and I'm backing them even if goals are tempting.
My only bet just now is Rangers, Leicester not to lose and Arsenal draw no bet. The Gunners have won 12 out of 13 against Newcastle and are boosted the arrival of £72million man Pepe from Lille.

Heerenveen look a massive price to score at nearly 2/5 tomorrow. Feyenoord had to rescue a 2-2 draw at home to Sparta Rotterdam on the opening day while Hereenveen were swatting Heracles aside 4-0 on the road. There are often goals when these two sides meet, with BTTS landing in 7 of the last 8. Feyenoord haven’t kept a clean sheet here since 2011, either. The Rotterdam side have just played on Thursday night too, so they will be coming into this one with a little less rest. 2/5 is more than fair on the home side to bag one.

Chelsea’s pre-season could well be an indicator of how their games might go this season, which is typically not the case. Lamps has still got them playing out from the back like last season, but Salzburg and Moenchengladbach both proved that their frailties to an organised press remain. Not to mention, they’re obviously a little light defensively with Zouma’s passing a particular concern. They look susceptible to leaking a goal or two anyway, but if they play their way at Old Trafford, there’s every chance they will cause themselves problems, too.
Where the play style has changed in comparison to the so-called Sarriball is that Lamps has got them moving the ball much quicker, particularly from front to back. When playing 4-2-3-1 with Jorginho and Kovacic at the base, both have been seen to be playing forward passes far more often than the sideways, possession recycling fare seen under Sarri. It’s likely Kante might be fit and play alongside one of those two (unless Lamps opts for the 4-3-3 instead), but regardless, I like what I saw of Chelsea going forward in pre-season. They were clinical in front of goal and did look sharp on the ball. Some of the passages of play against Salzburg in particular were impressive.
All in all, I think there could be goals in this one. I see Macca fancies United to win but both sides to net in his score prediction, and I wouldn’t necessarily disagree. What I do see is both sides netting here.

So I promised to dive into some Danish today and the more I look at this game the more I am willing to put my money on it.

With four games remaining we have all but secured our place in the Championship next season sitting at the dizzy heights of 9th place.
In the last 3 away matches we’ve had a victory at Toulouse a draw at Bradford Bulls and a 31-30 defeat to Leigh due to a last minute drop goal. One of those players used to watch on the terraces as a young boy with his grandad. His name is Marty Ashton he’s our fullback and his the leading try scorer in the league. He has pace to burn and he his on the radar if many Super League clubs and it’s only a matter of time before he gets snapped up.

Arsenal fielding a much weaker team than most people expected myself included. Would have liked to have seen Luiz in the team and pretty much anyone other than Mkhitaryan up front, but this side still has some talent in it, and this match is a great opportunity for Nelson and Willock to impress.
