Top Football Tips

MY day started with a 2-1 Super Single winner and later I landed a first-scorer 80-1 double on the VIP tips.

In between I lost five points on three accumulators although two of the them were just a goal short.

My 80-1 double was on Motherwell's David Turnbull and Crystal Palace's Wilfried Zaha and followed last week's 40-1 winner on three draws. And the Super Single was Bournemouth draw no bet.

Good to see a few people were on the scorers and hopefully most are getting these members tip.

It was an exciting day of football with Celtic clinching eight in a row by thumping Aberdeen and Liverpool keeping their title hopes alive after a battling 3-2 win at Liverpool.

Myself and maccathered had a bit of banter over my claim Newcastle could avoid defeat. I wasn't too far away and my main tip was Newcastle +2 at 4-5.

Looking forward to Monday night's Man City v Leicester but I expect the champions to win and maybe with something to spare although credit Liverpool for ramping up the pressure.

Some big games on Sunday and Spurs' defeat means the top-four battle will go the wire. Chelsea, Arsenal and Man United are all in action and all should win.

The treble pays 6-4 at Betfred and others. Some match previews have been posted including sliptips' Huddersfield vs Man United and kevinmac's Rangers vs Hibs tips. I've reckon all will win but have a higher odds treble that includes btts at Chelsea v Watford withthe last three at Stamford Bridge between the sides finishing 4-2, 3-2 and 2-2.

There is a full Championship card with games kicking off at 12.30pm and two issues to be settled. It's Norwich or Sheffield United for the title with the Canaries needing a point at Aston Villa. I imagine Villa will rest players for the play-offs so Norwich could win this. The promoted Blades travel to Stoke.

Derby will take the final play-off slot of they beat West Brom who are already there. If they fail to win they could let in Middlesbrough or Bristol City.

For a Championship treble I'm on Derby, Norwich not to lose and Sheffield Wednesday, who are finishing the season well, to beat a QPR side who have lost three in a row without scoring.

In Scotland it's Rangers v Hibs but it means little now with the title race over and there are some big games in the Continent. For a Super Single I'm on both to score at Rangers which is too big at over evens.

There will be less intensity to the game with the title gone but Steven Gerrard wants to finish with three wins and Paul Heckingbottom is defending an unbeaten league record. All three meetings this season have been draws – two 1-1s and a 0-0 – and Hibs have netted 11 on their last seven visits to Ibrox.

It wasn't an easy Saturday but well done to all the other winners.

For me it’s 2 Man City wins.
To send off the Liverpool player last night he would have had to stop play and give a penalty which they could have missed.
Ref played on and Newcastle scored.

    –Single–
    Luton v Oxford United

Looks a pretty even fixture this, with Oxford having the better recent form of the two. Both sides have had a lot of goals – Luton’s last 8 games in a row have all seen a minimum of 3 match goals, whilst Oxford’s last 3 have all seen the same pattern, with them scoring twice or more in each of those. Luton will want the win as they have Barnsley breathing down their neck on equal points.

The last 4 head-to-heads have seen both teams scoring and at least 3 goals on the board, they certainly have a high-scoring history. Looks a good value bet.

Apologies from the late start from me, my thoughts are not that different from yesterday, this derby v WBA game is there to be won. Derby made 1 change and back to 4-1-3-1. Holmes on for Huddlestone. Derby started brightly but finished slowly. It was 1 nil, but WBA have just fired in an equalizer. With Borough winning 2 nil, Derby have to up their game. Waghorn was subbed early and Nugent is on. Not sure I’d of picked him ahead of Marriott.
Wilson/Lawrence and Mount all need to contribute more. Derby need to get a foothold back in this game. Pressure is on.

Well done Derby – must have a chance against a Leeds side that’s been poor recently.
Villa in the final will be a bigger problem.

    • Avatar of Nath
      nathanufton 6 years ago

On current form, I fancy Derby to beat Leeds, but they’ve got the better of us twice. I think early on in the season they did us 4-1 at our ground. Don’t think the game at Elland road was as bad but they beat us 2 nil. Leeds form has been on the slide this past 4 games and I think Derby have only been beaten once in 12 matches ( Blackburn? ). We have the home leg which isn’t a gimme, we’ve got to do much better and then the real test is at Elland rd. If we can put on a show at Derby and scrape a draw at Elland Rd, we could get to Wembley.
I never really doubted Derby before we kicked off, I mentioned yesterday we should beat them with spare, but I forgot to mention the stats/ref that likes a card. Shows 6 yellows and a straight red, so my bad for that one. I saw overs 3.5 @ 4/6, so apologies for not pulling that one out.
I don’t think Villa will whitewash WBA but it is a local derby over 2 legs and anything can happen. Villa put Derby to the sword I’d say way more clinically than Leeds did and aside from a 15 minute spell in the 2nd half, WBA were awful. I get the straight red, it was more about intent than what he actually did but Robson Kanu gets a 2 match ban? that thins out WBA’s attacking options. I thought Lawrence’s penalty was a joke. VAR would of seen it overturned and another Derby yellow. But this season, I’ve seen Derby players stay on their feet when they should of gone down and got nothing so it equals it out a bit.
I think Villa will be in the final, they deserve it. WBA will be glad they don’t have to face Derby in the semi’s, but I think Leeds would be marginal favourites to make up the final.
But then again, we’ve all seen teams win playoff finals where stats and form don’t reflect the final result.
In all honesty, I think Villa will beat WBA twice and Derby and Leeds will beat each other with home advantage. If memory serves me right, doesn’t the away goal rule not apply to the playoff semi’s? If so, then the Derby/Leeds component will be who wins their home game by the bigger margin. 6 matches back, I thought Derby wouldn’t have a prayer of making the top 6, but results have gone our way and we’ve seized our chance when it’s been in our hands. So I’d rather be playing Leeds at this stage of the season than at any time before. Derby have momentum, Leeds don’t.
However, I think Derby are nowhere near ready or good enough to compete in the top tier should we go up. Our best 3 players are all loan signings. Can’t see Derby shelling out for Mount/Tomori and Wilson. It would be north of £30-£40 mill for those 3.

Stjarnan are favourites for a reason but it’s been a rare occasion when these two have met without both getting on the scoresheet; of the most recent 20 H2H’s, just 3 have failed to see btts trap and two bets looks to offer good value:

Just over 19/1 moneyback acca can be covered by backing Huesca dc to go for a decent win either way, or can be left alone to guarantee moneyback at least

    Putting this up now

Pinneberg vs Sasel 🇩🇪 Sunday 2pm

Pinneberg have been good to me since I discovered them recently, they concede for fun

Played 31 games and conceded 169 goals and have 3pts

    Last 10 games have had 9, 10, 4, 14, 8, 4, 10, 8, 3 and 14 match goals

    Over 4 match goals (bet365 betbuilder) 1/1 ✅

More markets will appear closer to kick off will be on FH Goals and more match goals

Only just scraped in finishing 1-11 😂

Pinneberg you will be missed next season!

Thanks Mr Pesh. Got on when you posted, I just saw the lovely green tick on my phone but didn’t realise the score was anything like 1-11.

      Cheers

I love a bet on the cards Cockerspaniel but I think you are looking too high in the French match tonight. The referee doesn’t flash many cards and always seems to let a few things go ,where other refs would be showing yellows. Good luck all the same and hopefully I’m wrong for your sake

All the 5 sides in the moneyback acca have something to play for, which I’ve put in brackets. GL today. Nothing from for oz this morning- I hate backing games in which the 2 teams involved play in this season.

Arsenal goal away from full house. Only had 81 mins to get the second too, the useless ………
