We head in to the final international break of the season this week and the last before Euro 2024. Thankfully!
There’ll be plenty to play for when the domestic action returns before the end of the month including a three-way fight for the Premier League title.
Arsenal might be at the summit but its champions Man City who head the betting at 6/5. Liverpool’s dreams of a treble were ended by Manchester United yesterday but Jurgen Klopp is 2/1 to sign-off in style as a Premier League champion. The Gunners are the outsiders of the three at 11/4.
On paper, Liverpool have the easiest run-in whereas Arsenal have some tough trips to Manchester City, Spurs and Manchester United still to come.
Things are just as tight at the top of the Championship where Leeds United nosed in front of Leicester City while they were on FA Cup duty at the weekend.
The Foxes are 8/13 to return to the top flight as champions with Leeds at 15/8 to pip them to top spot. Ipswich are still in the mix, just a point behind Leeds, but are ranked 10/1 shots to claim an unlikely title.
The race for the title looks like it’ll go to the wire in Scotland. Rangers’ match at Dundee was postponed yesterday meaning Celtic go in to the international break top of the table.
The Hoops lead by a point having played a game more but it’s Rangers who are the shortest price at 4/7 whilst it’s 11/8 for the Bhoys to retain their crown. The sides have still to play each other home and away before the end of the season.
Manchester City are favourites to win the other two trophies they’re still contesting. They’ll face Chelsea at Wembley for a place in the FA Cup final, which they are 4/6 to win. The Blues are 11/2 to win the famous old trophy for a ninth time.
Manchester United will be firm favourites to progress at Coventry City’s expense and are 9/4 to end a tough season with some silverware. The Sky Blues are 33/1 to repeat their 1987 success.
Pep Guardiola’s men must overcome Real Madrid again if they’re to defence their Champions League trophy. The semi-final draw has paired them with the 14-time champions of Europe but they’re still bookies favourites at 15/8 to conquer Europe again.
Arsenal (5/1) are second favourites despite being in the same half of draw as City. The Gunners need to navigate their way past Bayern Munich to reach the semi-finals.
It’s a strong last eight with the likes of PSG (8/1), Barcelona (10/1) Atletico (12/1) and Dortmund (25/1) all in with a fighting chance.
Liverpool are clear favourites to lift the Europa League at even money but runaway Bundesliga leaders, Bayer Leverkusen might have something to say about that at 7/2.
West Ham are 14/1 to enjoy European success for a second season in a row.
England’s only representative in the Conference League, Aston Villa, are also favourites at 7/4. There’s not too much recent European pedigree among the teams that remain but Serie A side Fiorentina are 3/1 whilst 2021’s Ligue 1 champions, Lille are 5/1.
Who do you think will pick up silverware when the prizes are handed out?

Very little on this week so I’ve been looking ahead to the weekend and there is one international friendly I think could be worth a punt.
As much as Scotland have improved over the last few years I just can’t see them troubling a decent Netherlands side, especially away from home. With odds of 4/6 I’m quite happy to go with Netherlands to score 2+ goals against a Scotland team that have conceded multiple times in their last 5 matches. Can’t see these odds remaining in place for long so getting on it early
Have Holland got a full squad available, you’ll find a lot of International players pulling out faking Injury to save themselves for their clubs run ins. Best to check the squad news before betting.
3 players out only. De jong will be missed but they have more than enough quality replacements.
3-4 days break for me , this weeks very quiet fòoty wise so a chance to have a breather.
