We wrap up this weekend’s FA Cup action with a trip to DW Stadium for tonight’s live match on ITV.

20 years ago Manchester United won the competition for an 11th time, and in the 19 years since then both they and tonight’s opponents have lifted the trophy on the same number of occasions; once.

The Latics famously triumphed over Manchester City and all its superstars in 2013 but appear to have been on a downward spiral ever since.

Current boss Shaun Maloney was part of that victorious side at Wembley and his side find themselves 18th in League One at present, however they would be in 10th were it not for the deduction of eight points at the start of the season.

In the opposing dugout Erik ten Hag will be praying for a much needed shot in the arm after a pretty disastrous December that saw his team crash out of Europe and slip to eighth in the table.

The Dutchman guided United to the final of the competition last season, where they fell short against their record-breaking rivals from across the City. En route the Red Devils had the luxury of playing all their ties at home, up to the semi-final stage, and even more remarkably winning all four ties by a 3-1 scoreline.

That would suggest the United boss will show tonight's clash the respect it deserves when it comes to his starting XI.

But backing the visitors won’t make us rich at 1/10 so how about a Corners x Goals BetBuilder?

United are averaging 6.30 corners per match in the Premier League and we should see them have the lion’s share of possession in Wigan’s half tonight, so over 5 corners looks very plausible. Add to that a couple of goals for the Premier League side and we have a BetBuilder that’ll double our money.

      The kaiser 🇩🇪
A master in his defensive role in a great West German side.
A prototype in the role now known as a sweeper.
Twice European footballer of the year, being a defender that’s pretty good as it’s them goal hanging strikers who usually catch the eye of those who vote on such things .

    Wigan v Man Utd
    Wigan double chance at 3/1
    Wigan to win at 14/1
Going to have a dabble on an upset, the Wigan manager was a part of the team that beat City so could well get his players up for this Cup Tie. United are 2/11 to win and they should do but you would have to be stark raving mad to take them on at that price against anyone.
    Best of luck

Only three people have won the World Cup as player and coach. Mario Zagallo who died on Saturday, Franz Beckenbauer who died today and Didier Deschamps who’s now crapping himself

    WIGAN v MAN U (PaddyP)

A dip into the player fouls market again with another player looking overpriced given the level of opposition and pressure they should well be under in the engine room..

    Tomorrow 11am. Or 12

    Japan v Jordan

Jordan hopeless so it all depends how many Japan want

The last time Jordan played a decent side was against Norway in September. They lost 6-0.

Gonna go for something like this

    Over 3.5 goals
    Btts no
    Goals in each half.
    2.47/1

The last time I posted about Japan. They scored 5 all in the second half.

So might do a high scoring bet also.
