Ok I’m going to trial something next 2 weeks on here with a view to doing a weekly piece next season when the new site comes.
I haven’t commented much for a while but for people who don’t know me I travel about watching football pretty much here there and everywhere but my expertise lies in the spfl and specifically the premiership. For my sins I am hibs daft and follow them everywhere but when not at hibs games I can be found at any ground in scotland! Last week for example I was at firhill Friday, tannadice Saturday and sadly Easter road Sunday! :(
So my plan is to preview each game briefly in the prem and give a recommended bet/opinion and at the end give a nap and nb.
So here goes week 1 sparky spl preview
Celtic vs Aberdeen
Aberdeen have had a tremendous season but since winning cup it’s fair to say they’ve gone somewhat off the boil. Celtic are hard to call just now one minute brilliant next minute sloppy like at motherwell a fortnight ago. I think celtic will be up for this tomorrow. The dons have pretty much single handledly blighted celtics season first taking them out the scottish cup and then taking their unbeaten record as well. With this in mind and current form I fancy a a bit of pay back for the tic!

I was going to put reasoning for all recommendations but don’t want to block up a whole thread. If anyone has any questions though I’ll be glad to pass on my thoughts. For the record Dundee utd is the only one I’ve backed myself and I did them last Sunday at 13/8. Hope people find this of interest and it’s something I can do next season on a weekly basis and if I’m hopeless I’ll gladly disappear of into the sunlight.
Sparky, just one thing. If you post them earlier I could lift them for my Daily Record column and save myself a pile of work. My thoughts are Celtic by at least 2, Dundee Utd, St Mirren, Partick and Hearts and the one I’m finding tough to call is Motherwell v St Johnstone. Dundee to win the Championship is my main hit in tomorrow’s Record though.
Lol very good Paul.
Lennon and Adams are the most negative managers in the league and I reckon they’ll both gladly take a point tomorrow.
Agree about game at Fir Park and not surprised money has come for St johnstone. When prices first went up well were odds on which was wrong. If you go on form saints look a great shout I just fancy well to bounce back and think McCall and his team will see tomorrow and wed vs ict also at home as a huge chance to reel aberdeen in who have trips to park head and tannadice this week. Think saints could be forgiven for starting to think about cup final and taking it easy also.
Couldn’t put anyone of thistle at Easter road but just think we are due a bit of luck. I also think thistle are the most nervous team in the league when leading lose a lot of late goals!
Would you believe I nearly ended up at meadow park the other night! I was in ayrshire for golf and it suddenly dawned on me that there must be some junior football on. By the time I’d thought of this I’d already arranged to go for dinner with some friends in prestwick or you’d of got a tap on the shoulder! I trust you were there. Saw meadow won 1 nil! :( one day I’ll surprise you and appear at a clydebank game!
Sparky, you missed not a bad game. Bankies should have got one second half but it’s our hoodoo ground where we’ve lost every time. I’m away next week so will miss our cup quarter-final with Shettleston but after that there will be hopefully a semi and final for you to look at as we’re the best team left in the competition.
I’ve got a bit of golf coming up through west so every chance I might make a game. Of course I might have some playoff games to attend also but hopefully in a neutral capacity!:)
Sparky, might see you there then or at Dumbarton next season!
