Ajaccio v Nice (8pm)

THIS last Ligue 1 game of the season will matter only for Nice who are still in the fight for a Europa League ticket, even though the home side will try and keep a point to avoid a disaster scenario.

Ajaccio is standing 16th position with 40 points and are three ahead of Troyes (18th) and the relegation zone, with a much better goal average than Troyes.

But Ajaccio are going downhill towards the end of season with just one win in their last nine games.

Nice sit sixth position with a total of 61 points and are fighting with Lille for a Europa League qualification. Lille have just as many points but a much better goal average, so Nice’s destiny also depends on Lille.

Ajaccio won their first head to head this season, 1-0 in Nice, and I expect quite a tight game since Ajaccio needs at least one point to be out of trouble and will be aiming to end the season on a positive note in front of their fans.

On the other side, Nice have a more talented squad, and are still in the race for a European qualification which would be an amazing achievement. I will go for Nice at 2.1 with Bet365.

    NBA PLAYOFF BETTING – 01:30
    ——————————————

    Miami Heat @ Indiana Pacers

Live on Betfair Video and Sky Sports

After falling to a LeBron James-inspired buzzer-beating overtime loss in Game 1, the Indiana Pacers displayed their growing maturity by hitting back on Friday night to split the opening two games.

In fact, Frank Vogel’s men have arguably been in control for the majority of this series and have put themselves in a great position to pull off what would be seen as a major upset.

They have been here before though, and they went on to win Game 3 in the second round series last year before losing three consecutively to see their season end.

However, both Vogel and his players have been keen to stress their improved ability and belief to put things right this time round, and have been very effective at both ends of the court.

Both Paul George and Roy Hibbert have been vital to their chances, with the former leading the way in points and assists per game in their playoff run, while the latter on average has the most rebounds and blocks.

Indiana’s work on the defensive end has proven key as they have successfully limited the Heat’s three-point shooting which can be devastating on its night. The Pacers have held them to 30 percent shooting from beyond the arc, and that is testament to the all-round contribution from their roster.

While Miami boast the “Big Three” in James, Dwyane Wade and Chris Bosh, George was keen to stress that Indiana rely on their “Big Five” and that their team contribution is what makes them such a formidable outfit.

The Pacers are 6-0 at home in the playoffs thus far, winning by an average of 14 points. However, they will appreciate the risk of home-court advantage being immediately wrestled back by Miami, who are 4-0 on the road in the postseason.

That would suggest that something must give on Sunday night, and with James desperate to bounce back from a disappointing performance last time out, you can’t rule out the possibility of the Heat showing exactly why they are defending champions.

Nevertheless, Indiana have shown enough to suggest that they can handle what the Heat have to offer, while also putting up the points on the offensive end. They won both meetings at home during the regular season, and there is no reason why they can’t do it again when it really matters.

With a raucous Bankers Life Fieldhouse capacity crowd cheering them on, expect the Pacers to continue their excellent work thus far and take another step towards the NBA Finals.

River Plate v Atletico Rafaela – Sunday 22:10

Sometimes form can be deceiving, and perhaps Atletico Rafaela’s good run of late can be used as evidence of that when it is more closely analysed.

They are a solid enough team, and particularly so at home, but sitting in eighth and going well recently doesn’t necessarily tell the whole story.

Rafaela have not really had a good/outstanding result since the second week of the Torneo Final when they played against an out-of-sorts Racing. Since then they’ve only beaten sides found in the bottom half, and on the road they are particularly bad having won just one game all season.

River are strong, their squad is deep and it is hard to see anything other than a win for Ramón Diaz’s side. Playmaker strong>Manuel Lanzini is growing into his role and their dynamic frontline makes up for their occasionally questionable defence.

This game should be a regulation home victory.

    Estudiantes v Argentinos Juniors – Monday 22:10

Estudiantes’ campaign is evidence of how much a change in management can kickstart a team.

From insipid and winless, Mauricio Pellegrino’s influence since taking over has guided them to three wins in their last four and a climb up the table.

They now host an Argentinos side that is so bad that a fan threw his dentures at manager Ricardo Caruso Lombardi and the club President was forced to deny that he was deliberately getting his club relegated to save institutional favourite Independiente.

The visitors are a hapless excuse for a football team and there’s only one outcome here.

Recommended bet: Back Estudiantes at 1.84
