West Ham v Blackpool, Wembley, 3pm, live Sky

IT'S not the biggest game of the day but it's certainly the richest.

They say there is as much as £90million at stake for the winners of the Championship play-off final so you can see how important it is.

So there are bound to be nerves at Wembley and it could be case of survival of the fittest.

I think it's a tough one to call. West Ham are clearly the better team but Blackpool are probably the biggest battlers and of course have been here before.

The Hammer finished third in the regular season and hammered the Tangerines at Bloomfield Road in their last meeting.

I don't like writing off Ian Holloway sides but I have to go with Sam Allardyce's men here. They are 21-20 with Ladbrokes to win in 90 minutes and 8-13 at William Hill and Coral to be promoted.

Bet365 and Paddy Power go 11-8 Blackpool to go up while BetVictor and bet365 are 14-5 on Holloway's side to win in 90 minutes.

Both sides like to push up so I'll be having some of Coal's 10-11 for the match to produce three or more goals.

For first scorer I'd sideswipe the West Ham strikers and consider Wales midfielder Jack Collison who hit a double in the semi-final win at Cardiff. Collinso, who has recovered from a dislocated shoulder, is 16-1 (various) to score first and 6-1 (William Hill) at any time.

The guys he needs to beat to the punch include 6-1 shots Carlton Cole and Ricardo Vaz Te and Nicky Maynard who is 8-1 at Ladbrokes.

For Blackpool it's difficult to ignore the claims of play-off king Stephen Dobbie. The Scots striker is 11-1 to break the deadlock and 7-2 Paddy Power to score

West Ham

(21-20, Ladbrokes)

Collison to score

(6-1, William Hill)

Dobbie to score

(7-2, Paddy Power)

Over 2.5 goals

(10-11, Coral)

West Ham to win in normal time and over 3.5 goals at Will Hill at 4/1 seems pretty good don’t you think?

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Kaz, I think there will be goals in the West Ham game but reckon Blackpool will make it tough for them.

West Ham to win by only 1 goal, sound good? I think it was at 5/2 the last time I checked

when a say huge a mean the whole a new street duntocher rent fur the month lol …. mr fixit u no wit a mean

    • Mr Fixit 12 years ago

Danny, I know what you man. Prefer Old Street myself. Drogba’s bound to have a say but I wouldn’t go huge on anything because finals are pretty unpredictable and as I’m tipping a Bayern win I won’t be on Drogba to score first.

Danny only way chelsea will win is if they park the bus like when they played barca. But this time they have to do it with a second string back 4. Sorry mate but its Bayern for me!

Cant pick a winner here. I agree with scott in that blackpool are hard to back against but hammers are deserved faves. I picked blackpool at the start so favour them slightly. Maybe go over 2.5 doubled with under 2.5 in scottish cup final.

Just for a bit of an interest

…James Tomkins to score at anytime 17/2

Mark Noble to score at anytime 5/1

going blackpool 3 west ham 2 (40/1) wee 5 should do it with that but can see this score a mile off ..

going big stake with over 2.5 goals in the game though

most important thing is my big bet coming off but hope blacpool make it .
