FOR weeks I'd been tipping Hibs to finish second bottom of the Premiership and they finally fell through a potential trapdoor by losing at home to Kilmarnock.
Terry Butcher's strugglers now face a two-legged play-off with Falkirk or Hamilton and their confidence is so low you have to fancy the Championship side at this moment.
Hibs are bookies favourites to retain their place but I'm tempted by Hamilton who should beat Falkirk over two legs.
After the excitement of the bottom-six matches it's all about the fight for second spot with Aberdeen a point clear of Motherwell going into the final match.
I tipped Aberdeen to be second at the start of the season and they are in good enough shape to grab the draw they need but interestingly haven't beaten Well at Pittodrie since 2008 (eight matches).
A Motherwell win pays 11-4 with the likes of bet365 but I'll be on a draw at 5-2 with Ladbrokes.
Champions Celtic need one more to make it a century of goals at home to Dundee Utd and should manage that against a side preparing for next weekend's Scottish Cup Final. Celtic have kept a clean sheet in four of the last six matches against United and are 11-8 with Hills to win to nil.
There have been 25 goals in Celtic's last four matches and the promise of plenty more on the day they receive the trophy. The last seven meetings between the sides at Parkhead have produced 30 goals so consider over 3.5 goals at 6-4 (various).
Inverness are 11-4 at William Hill to win to nil against St Johnstone with the home side achieving the feat in six of the last eight meetings between the teams. Saints will also be guarding against injuries for next week and ICT are 6-4 with Ladbrokes just to win.
Best bet here is to check team news – or listen to Greg Browning – and back Inverness if the Saints line-up is weakened when revealed.

I’ll be shocked if Hibs survive the play offs. Butcher is loathed by the players and has detstroyed the confidence of their youngsters. If Hamilton get past Falkirk, I’ll be lumping on them.
Aberdeen 11/10 NAP
Motherwell need to win and dons can pick them off on the break
StJohnstone 21/10
Don’t be fooled here this is a big game with decent prize money up for grabs. Saints will want to win this and put themselves in shop window for cup final place. Saints are better team and at prices must be the play
Celtic to score 3plus 19/20 NB
At home big crowd and dundee united can’t defend at the best of times let alone with a cup final ahead of them.
And for the record as someone who follows hibs home and away I’d just like to state there’s more tosh written on this website about my team than any other. In my experience people in glass houses shouldn’t throw stones and I’ll leave it there!
I like Hibs, and hope they stay up, but don’t think they will. Sparky, are you confident they’ll win the play off? Do you think Butcher should stay?
Wouldn’t put any money on us staying up but I don’t think the blame falls squarely at butchers door. He inherited a team that can’t pass, tackle or score from jose fenlon and was able to do next to nothing in January. I think his man management of the situation has been questionable but I genuinely think he was probably caught a little unaware of just how bad this squad of players are. I’ll judge butcher in 6 months time after he’s brought his own players in. If it was nt for griffiths we’d of went down last year. Worst thing griffiths done for hbs was bring us back from 3 down in cup semi vs falkirk last season as that saved fenlons job and put us back another season!
