MONTROSE are a club that continues to punch above their weight and they can close in on a League One promotion play-off spot by winning at 13/10 this week at Stirling Albion.

Links Park boss Stewart Petrie is almost criminally undervalued given the job he has done and he's currently Scotland's second longest-serving manager.

And he's got a chance of taking the Gable Endies up another league this season too.

Montrose are in fine form – their only defeat in their last nine league games came at champions-elect and unbeaten leaders Falkirk.

They were held by Annan last week but have won six out of their last seven games, including a trip to Forthbank last month where they beat Stirling 2-0.

Stirling have had a fine season themselves after last term's promotion and look to have done enough to avoid the play-offs, but they've managed just one win in their last nine games and that was against already-relegated Edinburgh City at home.

ALLOA look a solid shout at evens to heap more misery on Queen of the South, who seem to be sleepwalking their way into a relegation play-off.

The Wasps rewarded manager Andy Graham with a new deal this week after a decent season and they look well placed to have a chance of going up in the promotion play-offs.

They failed to hold onto a one-goal lead at Kelty Hearts in midweek and will be kicking themselves for that. But it was only their second defeat in nine games and they have won seven of them.

Quite how Marvin Bartley has survived without any pressure at Queen of the South is remarkable given they are probably the second biggest club in League One and they are now scrambling to survive.

They have picked up just three out of a possible 21 points and face an uphill task to take anything from Clackmannanshire on Saturday.

Finally, it's a bit short at 4/6, but EAST FIFE look rock solid to increase Stranraer's woes.

The Methil side have picked up since Dick Campbell came in and are unbeaten in six.

League Two bottom club Clyde have dragged Stranraer right into the mix and could even overtake them at the weekend if results go their way.

Stranraer have won just once away last season and lost six of their last seven games on their travels and East Fife should justify odds-on favouritism at New Bayview,
