SPRING is in the air and we look set to have a full fixture card in the Scottish Football Leagues.
And our lower-league expert Joe Wallace has been hard at work on the look-out for a winning treble.
We kick off in the Irn-Bru First Division and Dunfermline’s clash with Morton at East End Park.
The Pars go into this match in second place in the table, three points behind leaders Raith Rovers.
They know they have to keep picking up victories if they are to win promotion to the SPL and that should be all the motivation they need to see off the Cappielow men who are 13 points behind them in the table.
Add in the fact the Pars have defeated the Ton in the last four clashes between the sides and it’s no surprise I am taking them as the first team in my SFL treble (4-6, Victor Chandler).
Next we move into the Third Division and focus on second-placed Arbroath’s home clash with Annan.
The promotion-chasing Gayfield men suffered a disappointing 3-2 defeat at Elgin last week and will be desperate to get their title charge back on track.
They face up to an Annan side they are six points ahead of in the table and who they defeated 2-1 away from home the last time the sides clashed.
I reckon the Lichties have to win this one and fancy them at (4-5, widely available).
We stay in the Third Division and concentrate on league leaders Stranraer’s home match with fellow promotion chasing Albion Rovers.
Keith Knox’s men are on a high after returning to top spot in midweek following a 3-1 defeat of Clyde and will be looking to stay in pole position until the end of the season.
The Stair Park men have won four of their last five matches will have just about enough in the tank to take all three points in a hard-fought encounter. Stranraer are 21-20 with Stan James.
