IT was a day of mixed results but I was happy to land my 10-1 Betway enhanced top treble and the Five to Follow treble at 6-1.

Yesterday I was strong about Motherwell's chances and although they won it was a bit of a sweat against managerless Hearts.

I'm backing against another side who have parted company with their gaffer recently in Dundee. The Dens men, staring at relegation, have brought in club legend John Brown as interim boss and he faces a tough task today at home to Dundee United in the William Hill Scottish Cup.

There's no way Dee can avoid finishing bottom so this is their cup final and although Brown will extract fight from his players – as he did in the midweek draw against St Johnstone – I believe United have too much quality as well as a real desire to pick up a trophy under new boss Jackie McNamara.

The last three meetings of the sides have finished 3-0 to United and although it's unlikely to be as easy I'm on the away win at 5-6 with Ladbrokes.

Dundee Utd have a doubt over leading hitman Johnny Russell so first scorer have a look at skipper Jon Daly who is 11-2 at Ladbrokes.

Brown will have his men fired up and it could be a red-hot derby so consider a red card at
12-5 with Ladbrokes.

The other Scottish Cup tie between Killie and Hibs looks a draw as it was when they met last Wednesday. It was 2-2 then so consider over 3.5 goals at 14-5 with bet365.

I've also tipped goals at Spurs v Arsenal and over 3.5 pays 7-4 at BetVictor. Jermain Defoe is back to support goal machine Gareth Bale but after profiting so much on the Welshman recently I can't ignore him at 11-8 to Stan James – and is actually shorter than Defoe.

So Dundee United start my treble and I'm adding Siena at home to Atalanta. Siena have hit three goals in their last two home wins against Lazio and Inter so should boost their hopes of beating the drop with three points. They are 13-10 with William Hill and BetVictor.

Complete the treble with Sampdoria against a Parma side crashing down the table after four defeats in five. Samp on the other hand have won their last three at home, scoring 11 goals, and have conceded just once in five.

Mauri Icardi has netted eight in nine games and is 13-2 at bet365 to score first. Samp are
11-8 at William Hill and BetVictor.

Icardi's on my anytime scorers Yankee with Falcao as Atletico Madrid visit Malaga. It's a big game for both sides but Atletico will be in buoyant mood after sealing a Copa de Rey final against Real Madrid and the return of their Colombian has raised their level again.

Malaga are chasing a Champions League place and of course are still in the tournament but I'm willing to risk Atletico at 13-8 as my Super Single – just ahead of Cagliari – with Coral and William Hill while Falcao is 9-2 at Stan James to score first.

Betfair now gives you the facility to mix and match your multiples across a huge range of sports and markets with the easy-to-use betslip.

Bet 1: Back Tottenham to draw with Arsenal at 3.4
This latest renewal of hostilities between these two old rivals could be a defining match, not just for this season, but for the balance of power in North London. Tottenham haven’t finished higher in the league than Arsenal since 1994/95, but a victory on Sunday would leave the Gunners trailing by seven points.

Arsenal’s season is handing by the slenderest thread. Out of the FA Cup, and almost certain to be dumped out of the Champions League later this month, their run of five league games unbeaten is small consolation for another trophy-free campaign.

In their last six meetings, these teams have produced 33 goals, and Arsenal haven’t kept a clean sheet in thirteen matches. We can expect another high-scoring encounter, but it may prove hard to separate these bitter foes. Spurs haven’t lost to their nearest neighbours at White Hart Lane since 2007 and Arsenal will be desperate to get something out of this game. A draw is the sensible play.

Bet 2: Back Pakistan to beat South Africa at 2.3
After Friday’s wash out, the Twenty20 series will be decided in Centurion on Sunday.
The home side are favourites after their 3-0 Test series victory, but I think the visitors can cause an upset. They were no match for South Africa in the five day game, but twenty overs is their speciality. A win rate of 59% in this format is about the best around, and they’ve reached the last four of every Twenty20 World Cup.

Pakistan have a full strength twenty over side, having recalled Shahid Afridi, Umar Akmal and Kamran Akmal, and will be looking to restore some pride. South Africa are likely to field a much weakened side, missing Dale Steyn, Hashim Amla, Morne Morkel, Jacques Kallis, and the injured JP Duminy, and Pakistan should be able to beat an inexperienced home line-up.

Bet 3: Back New York Islanders to beat Ottawa Senators at 1.68
New York Islanders may be bottom of the Atlantic Division but are an improving team, blessed with plenty of young attacking talent, and have pulled off some great results already in this truncated NHL season. They took Toronto Maple Leafs to overtime on Friday and have had a day off to prepare for the visit of Ottawa.

The Senators have an extensive injury list, but are battling hard to stay in contention in the North East Division. They lost in Boston on Friday, then went down 2-1 in Philadelphia on Saturday in a particularly hard-fought game.

On paper, they are the better team, but this third game in three days of their East Coast tour may just catch up with them. Back the Islanders to upset the visitors.

Total Odds for this multiple: 13.14

  13. weordie 11 years ago

Badham I’m in the same boat, Watford let me down for quite a bit, lost quite a lot saturday regular kick off games then had a 4 fold of Leverkusan, Milan, Liverpool and Valencia to at least finish with some profit. Was just about to text my mate saying it was all good when they conceded too…

If I don’t get a win today I’m done for the month already (I hate betting on a cold streak and give up for the month when it hits).

Got Mr. F’s treble and Bale 1st goal and Giroud 1st goal on betfred’s double delight

  14. Badham 11 years ago

Anyone have any doubts over Bayern Munich covering the -1 handicap vs Hoffenheim?

I’ve just seen Bayern’s starting 11 and it’s not their strongest. Mandzukic, Kroos, and Nuer are all on the bench, while Robben has been left out all together. Mario Gomez starts up front though.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Dean, if you’re backing Bayern it’s the only way to go. But loads of top sides have one eye on the Champions League so can’t say for sure.

  23. JackSparrow 11 years ago

Anyone got any info on Cuba U20s tonight at 9? Some guys on twitter earlier said they’d been in good form and a decent price around Evs at home.

  34. Dean 11 years ago

That’s it, my account has been wiped out. Won’t be putting on another bet again for some time. Bayern not beating the handicap was the straw that broke the camel’s back. I’ve found this site to be very useful and informative but I won’t be around now

What odds would you have got for the four scottish cup games to finish 1-2?

  36. Lord Clegg 11 years ago

I did three of your four to score Mr Fix and only Daly has failed so far. I took Carzola instead of Falcao so in with the chance of a treble if Arsenal can find the net and they still have plenty of time.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Lord Clegg, good luck with that.

  37. Craig alves 11 years ago

sorry colin, just back on, it was on twitter wi mobile and computer links for it. sure they would’ve had it on site as it’s the ‘#voteforvalue’ where people vote for selection tae get enhanced and bale 1st was most popular. lif it’s any consolation never had it on myself as skint but was just flagging it up

    • Colin 11 years ago

Craig could only find it as 4/1. Didnt have it on either but would have at 7/1. Next time

  38. Don 11 years ago

Well, that’s it for me folks.

I’ve basically been betting recently to get rid of some mounting debts (not the wisest strategy, I know).

That Arsenal goal has just brought a massive win up for me today. I did a very big lump on Bayern and over 2.5 in the Spurs game (didn’t post as I didn’t want to jinx it!), after building up a pot to play with through the week.

Just wanted to say thank you for all your tips (kudos to Guido for last nights!) and cheers to Mr F for running a really useful site!

So good luck to you all in the rest of your betting adventures.

I’m ducking out and taking my weekends back!

    • Dave 11 years ago

yah did right Guido, i checked out the stats and it looked like a non bts mind so i didnt take it either. I was waiting for roma and benfica games to remain 0-0 for a bit then id take them but didnt happen. Only got Lanus for later left now i think!
