THE games just keep coming in the Scottish Football Leagues – and our man Joe Wallace has been doing his homework again in the hunt for a winning treble.
On Saturday Livingston’s home clash with Peterhead was postponed but the other two selections came up trumps with Ayr defeating Alloa 1-0 and Dundee running out 2-1 winners over Queen of the South.
The double paid out roughly £29 for a £10 stake – but let’s see if we can go one better this time around.
We kick off in the Irn-Bru First Division and Raith Rovers’ home tie with Cowdenbeath.
The league leaders came a cropper at the weekend losing 2-0 at home to Partick Thistle.
Rovers are still hurting after that defeat but can easily get their title charge back on track by beating a Beath side who have won just once in their last six matches.
Take the Kirkcaldy men at (4-9, William Hill) to get back to winning ways.
We stay in the First Division and focus on Dunfermline’s trip to face Stirling Albion.
After a series of poor results the East End Park men boosted their bid to return to the SPL by beating fellow promotion rivals Falkirk 2-1 at the weekend.
Stirling are without a win in their last six matches and go into this encounter a whopping 31 points behind Jim McIntyre’s men.
No surprise then that I am going for an away win so take the Pars to earn all three points (widely available at 1-2).
We finish up in the Third Division and Annan’s away clash against East Stirling. The Galabank men are in the race for a play-off place and that was boosted at the weekend after a hard-fought 3-2 away win at Elgin.
They have now won their last two matches and I reckon they will be too strong for a Shire side who don't have a victory in their last six games.
Go for an Annan to win (11-10, Stan James, totesport and Boylesports).
