IT’S another action-packed Saturday in the Scottish Football Leagues – and as always our lower-league man Joe Wallace has been doing his homework to hopefully come up with a winning treble.
We kick off in the Irn-Bru First Division and Dundee’s home clash with Queen of the South.
Barry Smith’s side have been in excellent form in recent weeks and are unbeaten in their last six matches.
In contrast, injury-hit Queens have been struggling, winning only once in their last six encounters.
Add in the fact the Dens Park men are unbeaten in their last three clashes with the Palmerston side and it’s easy to see why I am taking them as the first side in my treble (4-6, William Hill).
We move on to the Second Division and a Livingston team who seem to be able to do no wrong these days. Gary Bollan’s men have won their last four clashes and face up to a Peterhead side who haven’t won in their last six.
The last time the clubs met Livi ran out 1-0 winners and I can’t see anything other than another victory for the Almondvale troops (4-11, Betfred, Stan James).
Finally, we stay in the Second Division and focus on the match at Somerset Park between Ayr and Alloa.
The Honest Men kept their play-off hopes alive last weekend with a 5-0 thrashing of Airdrie. They face an Alloa outfit without a win in their last six and who they haven’t lost to in the last six meetings between the sides.
So I reckon Brian Reid’s men will have just about enough to take all three points and are widely available at 8-11.
