IT looks like a difficult weekend to come up with a winning treble in the Irn-Bru Scottish Football Leagues.
But that has made us even more determined to pick up a decent paying line that will have punters laughing all the way to the bank and bookies crying into their pints.
We kick off in the Irn-Bru First Division and runaway leaders’ Ross County’s away trip to face Hamilton. County have been in excellent form as they have stormed to the top of the division on the back of a 22-match unbeaten run and are nine points ahead of second-placed Falkirk with a game in hand.
The experts insist County’s fine form must stop soon but I can’t see that happening and fancy their chances against an Accies side they are 29 points ahead of in the table.
County have won their last three matches and defeated Accies 2-1 in their last trip to Lanarkshire last August. I reckon they will run out winners again and am taking them at a tasty 13-10 with Betfred.
We move on to the Second Division and look in on Cowdenbeath’s trip to face East Fife. League leaders Beath go into this clash 19 points ahead of their rivals – and I reckon they can extend that gap further.
Beath have won the last four meetings between the sides, including 6-2 and 4-0 thrashings. No surprise then that I am taking them as the second side in my treble at 7-5 with sportingbet and William Hill.
We finish up in the Third Division and a northern clash between Elgin and Peterhead. Elgin have moved into the play-off spots after a fine run that has see them lose only twice in their last eight games.
Last time they faced Head they thrashed their rivals 6-1 – and I am going for another win for the Borough Briggs boys at 5-4 with sportingbet.
