Man City v Hoffenheim
Champions League Group F. Wednesday, December 11, KO 8pm. Live BT Sport
MAN CITY need just a point in their final game to finish top of Group F.
That shouldn't be a problem for Pep Guardiola's side as they bid to bounce back from their first Premier League defeat of the season at Chelsea on Sunday.
I actually thought City played really well before conceding an opener to N'Golo Kante but they missed the deadly finishing of Sergio Aguero.
The Argentine superstar will again be missing, as will Kevin de Bruyne and maybe David Silva, so it's likely Gabriel Jesus will be given another chance to shine.
Raheem Sterling played as a false No.9 against Chelsea but it didn't work and he missed a great chance – Pep's options in attack are limited so he'll need to put his faith in Jesus.
City are ridiculously short at 1-6 with 888sport but it's understandable against a side without a win in four and who have conceded 15 in eight games and without a win in four.
Interestingly their last seven matches have seen both score with six of those seven going over 2.5 goals. Both to score and over 2.5 goals looks on with btts paying 3-4 at 888sport.
Sterling will be back in his wide position and looks a better bet to score first than Jesus. The England man is 4-1 at 888sport to score first with Jesus an industry best 17-5.
Hoffenheim are rock bottom of the group with just two points and 12 goals conceded which explains why they are 13-1 with the draw 7-1.
Looks a gulf in quality here and even without some stars I like City -2 at 6-5 with 888sport.
Recommended Bets
- Sterling to score first (4-1, 888sport)
- Both teams to score (3-4, 888sport)
- Man City -2 (888sport)
