LEAGUE CUP SEMI-FINAL: ABERDEEN v ST JOHNSTONE TIPS

ABERDEEN haven't reached a cup final for 14 years and this could be the day.

Derek McInnes's men are favourites to finish second in the SPFL and with Celtic – and Rangers – out the way this is their best chance in years to lift silverware.

In 23 knockout contests the Dons have never lost to the Perth men so Tommy Wright's side will have to make history to set up a final showdown with Hearts or Inverness.

Aberdeen are a best 1-1 with Betfred and Coral to win in 90 minutes while McBookie are offering 3-1 to new customers, max bet £10. Saints are 11-4 at Coral and Ladbrokes with the draw 13-5 at bet365.

The difference between the sides could be Adam Rooney who looks a useful signing. He netted on his debut at Motherwell last weekend and is 6-1 at Coral to bag the opener and 15-8 at bet365 to net at anytime.

To qualify for the Final Aberdeen are 4-9 at McBookie with Saints 7-4 and to win in extra time it's 8-1 the Dons and 16-1 Saints. Both sides are 14-1 to win on penalties.
