Last Player Standing is a betting competition where a group of people each put in a stake and predict one team to win in a competition each week.
If that team wins, they progress into the next round, if they draw or lose, they are eliminated.
Each team can only be picked once throughout the game; e.g., if you pick Liverpool to win in week one, you cannot pick them again during that edition of Last Player Standing.
The goal is to be the final player left at the end of it all. The winner takes the full pot.
This weekend, the title race continues as Arsenal host London rivals Fulham and Manchester City travel to Everton on Monday Night Football, whilst relegation battlers Spurs and West Ham face tricky away trips to Aston Villa and Brentford respectively.
This week’s best Last Player Standing tip: Arsenal
Arsenal will look to move six points clear at the top of the Premier League table on Saturday evening as they welcome poor-travelling Fulham to the Emirates.
Mikel Arteta’s men bounced back from their back-to-back losses away at home to Bournemouth and away at title-rivals Manchester City by edging to a 1-0 win over Newcastle United last weekend.
That result moved the Gunners three points clear of Manchester City, and with Pep Guardiola’s men not playing until Monday night, they have the perfect chance to move six points clear – albeit the Cityzens will have two games in hand.
Marco Silva’s visitors don’t tend to travel well, as they have picked up just 16 points from a possible 51 (W4-D4-L9), with that record changing to W0-D2-L7 when travelling to teams currently positioned in 11th and above.
MFT’s top Last Player Standing pick: Leeds United
Leeds United will look to take a huge step in confirming their Premier League status as they welcome already-relegated Burnley to Elland Road on Friday Night Football.
Leeds suffered FA Cup heartbreak last weekend, but you’d fully expect them to bounce back from that and take another step in sealing their Premier League status for next season with a win under the lights at Elland Road against already relegated Burnley.
Daniel Farke will take confidence from the fact that his side are unbeaten in each of their previous five Premier League matches (W2-D3-L0), after twice coming from a goal down to draw 2-2 at in-form Bournemouth last time out.
The Whites defeated relegated Wolves in their last home fixture, and should be too strong for a Burnley side that has picked up a solitary point from their last seven Premier League outings (W0-D1-L6) – as well as winning just one of their past 25 league matches (W1-D7-L17).
