Last Player Standing is a betting competition where a group of people each put in a stake and predict one team to win in a competition each week.
If that team wins, they progress into the next round, if they draw or lose, they are eliminated.
Each team can only be picked once throughout the game; e.g., if you pick Liverpool to win in week one, you cannot pick them again during that edition of Last Player Standing.
The goal is to be the final player left at the end of it all. The winner takes the full pot.
This weekend, the top two go head-to-head at the Etihad in what could prove to be a pivotal clash in the destination of the Premier League title, whilst the battle for survival heats up, with Roberto De Zerbi making his home dugout debut for Spurs against his former side Brighton.
This week’s best Last Player Standing tip: Leeds United
Leeds will look to take another step in securing their survival in the Premier League this season as they welcome bottom-side Wolves to Elland Road on Saturday afternoon.
Leeds put an end to their six-match winless run in the Premier League on Monday night as they claimed a memorable 1-2 victory at Old Trafford against rivals Manchester United.
That result moved the Whites six points clear of the relegation zone, and they’ll be confident of backing that win up at Old Trafford against a Wolves side that are all but relegated.
Daniel Farke’s men have won four of their six clashes at home against teams positioned in 12th and below (W4-D1-L1), and host a Wolves side that was thrashed 4-0 at West Ham last time out.
MFT’s top Last Player Standing pick: Leeds United
Having not yet picked Leeds United, Daniel Farke’s men seem the obvious choice this weekend.
The Whites could move nine points clear of the relegation zone by the time Spurs kick off against Brighton, and they face a Wolves side that remains winless on their Premier League travels this season.
