Last Player Standing is a betting competition where a group of people each put in a stake and predict one team to win in a competition each week.
If that team wins, they progress into the next round, if they draw or lose, they are eliminated.
Each team can only be picked once throughout the game; e.g., if you pick Liverpool to win in week one, you cannot pick them again during that edition of Last Player Standing.
The goal is to be the final player left at the end of it all. The winner takes the full pot.
This weekend, the title race continues as Arsenal host Bournemouth on Saturday before Manchester City travel to Stamford Bridge to take on Chelsea on Super Sunday, whilst the battle at the bottom intensifies with West Ham hosting Wolves to kick the weekend off on Friday night.
This week’s best Last Player Standing tip: Arsenal
Arsenal will look to strengthen their position at the top of the Premier League table as they welcome mid-table Bournemouth to the Emirates in the lunchtime kickoff on Saturday.
The Gunners are still in pole position to clinch their first Premier League crown in 22 years, as four consecutive wins has them nine points clear of nearest challengers Manchester City, albeit Pep Guardiola’s men do have a game in hand.
Mikel Arteta’s men have been formidable at home this season, picking up 38 points from a possible 45 (W12-D2-L1), with that record changing to W11-D0-L0 when welcoming teams positioned in 6th and below.
Bournemouth have become draw-specialists in the Premier League this season, with 15/31 (48%) of their encounters ending in a stalemate, including in each of their last five and seven of their past 11.
However, Andoni Iraola’s men tend to struggle when travelling to the top sides, losing four of their six visits to the top seven (W0-D2-L4).
MFT’s top Last Player Standing pick: West Ham United
West Ham United will look to move outside of the Premier League relegation zone on Friday night as they welcome bottom-side Wolves to the London Stadium.
West Ham headed into the international break still a point from safety following their 2-0 defeat away at Champions League-chasing Aston Villa.
That was only the Hammers’ third defeat in their last 10 Premier League outings (W4-D3-L3), and they remain unbeaten in their previous four at the London Stadium.
Nuno’s men also have an impressive recent record at home to Wolves, as they have each of their previous five Premier League meetings against the Old Gold, scoring 12 times and conceding just once.
