IT was all about the Lions and Andy Murray yesterday – with one whimpering over the line and the other roaring to victory.
A few people backed the NZ Barbarians on the handicaps and they almost won the tour opener.
I tipped Andy Murray to lose a set and after a dramatic opener when he saved several set points he beat Juan del Potro in straight sets for the first time.
The French Open continues today with hot favourite Rafa Nadal in action as well as Novak Djokovic.
Nadal should beat Roberto Bautista-Agut in three sets but it pays just 4-11 at boylesports. Djoko has a tougher assignment against clay expert Alberto Ramos-Vinallas and could drop at least one set.

Clermont v Toulon
Brain v brawn this evening at Stade Francais and i think brain will come out on top. Clermont have been much more consistent this season and after their defeat in the Champions Cup, they will be motivated to win today. Toulon’s form has been excellent recently to reach the final but I feel they have been quite fortunate to squeak their way through the playoffs.
Toulon are a richly assembled team of individuals that can turn it on when the time is right. They have a big pack with bog centres that can punch through the gain line. However, the back line of Clermont is full of skill and guile and they showed against Saracens that they can keep their nerve to the end in a big final.
Toulon will be missing Halfpenny which in my head means they automatically lose 6 points.

Not to be. Clermont looked on after scoring early doors, but from then onwards everything went to penalties with neither side opting for the corner. Also had a nightmare on the England U20 match. I thought i had opted for HT/FT, instead i had England to win both halves (probably explained the generous odds). So in the end both lost. Very close with both matches but overall a bad day.
Onwards and upwards. I’m looking at the BIL match against the Blues, and my gut is telling me that BIL will put on a show and pull through, despite a poor performance on Saturday. Hmmmmm

Real mixed bag over the wkend with 2 of the UFC doubles and the lil single falling but the other double came in as well the Rugby 5-fold. The cricket treble is still running and can be easily covered. Surprised by the lack of leg kicks from Aldo but a top performance from Holloway & I said it was too close to call….I reckon he’ll be champ for a long time! His only real competition now would be Frankie & I reckon he’ll take care of him with no real issues. Couple Lions games coming up and some Internationals next wkend so will be on those
