THE grasscourt is back upon us and Andy Murray will be in action on Wednesday after missing the French Open through injury.

Murray is likely to face Nicholas Mahut, an expert on the surface who knocked out the Scot at Queen's last year.

However, having had the benefit of an extra week or so's practise on the grass after missing the French clay Murray should be in good shape to make a run at the tournament.

Whether he can go all the way is another matter and odds of 7-4 with Ladbrokes and Coral aren't that attractive.

Tomas Berdych is second favourite at 11-2 (various) ahead of Jo-Wilfried Tsonga who I might have fancied had it not been for the tame exit he made in the semis of the French to David Ferrer having previously beaten Roger Federer.

Tsonga is 6-1 but the man who could be worth an each-way punt is another big server Juan del Potro who is 8-1 at Skybet.

Queen's often throws up shocks though so don't go too daft and maybe pay attention to the comments made by Ellis. He wants to do some tipping on sports such as tennis, darts and cricket so let's see what he's got.

As I said earlier the site will be changing in the close season and with Milesey away we'll be looking at bringing in a new racing tipster.

In the meantime check out Ellis's tennis tips when they go on and don't be too hard on them if they don't all win.

    Thanks for the Intro Mr F :) so yeah basically I love tennis, darts and snooker and I want to try and give you guys some winning tips on these sports. Don’t shoot me if they lose, just give me chance, i’m sure I will win you some money (darts being my favourite hunting ground). Here’s my starting tips on a limited card tomorrow and hopefully they go well;

Queen’s Club Tennis – Daily Tips
    ___________________________________________________
    ***TOP TREBLE***

LUKAS ROSOL TO WIN vs Samuel Groth 2/5 – Seeded 12th in the tournament the Czech Republican has been working his way up through the rankings ever since his major triumph over Rafael Nadal. His performances since the win have not been great, however, he should have the power and experience to see off the qualifier from New Zealand in Samuel Groth. He put up a great performance at the French open before narrowly losing to Fabio Fognini and only last month picked up an ATP tour trophy in Nastase seeing off some difficult opposition including Andreas Seppi (seeded number 3), Viktor Troicki (seeded 8) and Gilles Simon (seeded 2). Therefore, I see this as good value to easily despatch the qualifier from New Zealand.

MARIN CILIC TO WIN vs Ivan Dodig 4/11 – Seeded 5th in the tournament Cilic faces his fellow Croatian counterpart in Ivan Dodig. Cilic has had an extremely impressive season, seeing off the best players on the tour in his rise to 12th in the singles rankings. The main advantage I see here is Cilic’s giant serve which I believe will play majorly in his hands against a much more inexperienced played in Dodig, who only just despatched Jamie Ward today who is ranked 245th in the ATP men’s rankings. Dodig has failed to get past the second round in his last two tournaments and I believe that Cilic’s technicality and effective serve will be enough to put him past Ivan Dodig.

NICOLAS MAHUT TO WIN vs Rhyne Williams 4/9 – Recent form suggests that Mahut will struggle to win this match. However, he loves the grass surface and more importantly he loves this tournament, stressed with the fact that he knocked Andy Murray out of the competition last year. Rhyne Williams only turned professional last year, and he has struggled to pick up wins on the tour, stressed by the fact that he has only got past the second round of one tournament this year. I therefore believe that Mahut’s experience of this surface and this tournament will just edge him through this match.
    Treble pays 2.76

    ***EW BET OUTRIGHT***
THOMAS BERDYCH 11/2 – Thomas Berdych has been going about his business quietly on the tour, dispatching of top players on his way to this championships, dispatching of players such as Andy Murray in his last tournaments. It is this theory that makes me believe that Berdych is certainly a good bet to reach the finals in a favourable section of the draw. On route to the final his likely opponents would be Marin Cilic and Juan Martin Del Potro and I simply believe that an inspired player in Berdych who’s all around technical game is sound will have what it takes to dispatch of the closely matched opponents he may likely face on the way to the final. When looking at the draw I think this is a sound bet overall.

    ***OUTRIGHT BET***
ANDY MURRAY 7/4 – In terms of the outright bet I have had some difficulty in coming to a conclusion. Andy Murray has just got over an injury and therefore it is difficult to determine which Andy Murray will turn up. However, he does have past pedigree in this tournament winning it twice within a four year period and it is therefore extremely difficult to look past him winning the tournament. If it all goes to seeds it will turn out that Andy will play Jo-Wilfried Tsonga in the semi final’s who is bang on form after his rise to the French Open semi finals easily dispatching of Roger Federer, before losing to David Ferrer. It is therefore difficult to identify Tsongas frame of mind after this heavy loss and I think that he may not bounce back so quickly on the grass surface. I think that if Murray does meet Berdych in the final, however, he will have a very tough game, but, this will then be much easier to cover the bet.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Ellis, treble looks good, might back that, so good luck with the bets.

  2. Ellis 11 years ago

Cheers Mr F, hope to hit more when we get a better card, the queens card looks nasty tomorrow with potential upsets, Ryan Harrison looked a good single, but, on recent form I think its a shocking price

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Ellis, yeah I had a quick look before you sent in your tips and apart from Mahut and maybe Cilic no one stood out. Dodig I read somewhere has a good record against Cilic but I don’t know if that’s right.

    • Ellis 11 years ago

He does have a good record against him yeah, he beat him in straight sets a month ago, however, Cilic won the tournament last year and he loves the grass court

ICC CRICKET TIPS – INDIA VS WEST INDIES
    __________________________________________________________________________________

Having correctly predicted every game of the ICC so far this is where it is bound to go wrong as I am siding with the outsiders. The West Indies were extremely impressive against Pakistan and their many forms of powerful batting in the shape of experienced ODI player Chris Gayle, powerful batter Keiron Pollard and skilful technique of Dwayne Bravo, the Windies have a team capable of scoring a high number of runs. Their fielding was slightly temperamental at times against Pakistan, their consistent batting was enough to set a high total which was enough to see them through the games.

However, this time around they face a much harder game in the form of an Indian side who are quite ruthless at bowling the ball through players such as Umesh Yadav and Ravichandran Ashwin. This extremely talented fielding line up (the majority of which are fresh after taking part in the IPL) were enough to easily dispatch of the South African team they previously faced. The only fear I have in terms of India is that there batting power is poor and I see no real game changers in the form of Virat Kohli, Shikhar Dhawan or Murali Vijay. Whether their fielding power will be enough to see them through the game of not I do not know.

I therefore believe that the Windies influential batting line-up may be enough to provide the first loss to an odds on favourite at this tournament. The only worry is that the strong fielding from India will counteract the strong batting of India, however, the experience of Chris Gayle and Marlon Samuels should be enough to see them over the line.

    ***RECOMMENDED BETS***

Back West Indies to beat India at 6/5
Back Chris Gayle to beat Shikhar Dhawan in the batsman match bet market at 4/5

Hey fellas, recently became aware of site (first post). firstly thanks for this amazing resource, Mr F & others. euro soccer etc is a good way to widdle away the hours in somewhat uneventful australia.

Anyway, Ellis, i also am huge cricket fan, and must say this WI vs IND game is doing my head in. WI has better record at the Oval 9-2 compared to Ind 3-7. (first WI game vs PAK was at OVAL)
skill and talent of indias batting compared to the blunt power and freakishnish of WI.

For me Narine is key 3/34 vs PAK he can destroy india’s batting, with Rampaul, Roach and Bravo their a pretty well rounded team.

It’s a big call, i agree that WI might just get over.
If too close on win, checkout DHAWAN or SHARMA Over25.5 at $1.86 (dont know the fractions sorry), as well as Narine most wickets for WI at $3.50.

good games in this trophy tho, fun betting. thnks for tips guys :)

    • Ellis 11 years ago

Good reasoning pal and I’m going to try and put a cricket tip each day (if it goes well me and Mr F will look to hit the ashes). I know what you mean, however, I do like the value of the Windies. I was also looking at West Indies highest opening partnership at 2.0

    • Ellis 11 years ago

      ohhh dear… goodbye Chris Gayle

    • Guy.L 11 years ago

hey ellis, on the cricket. dhawan is almost certainty for over 28’s or even highest innings scorer, so strong and such good form atm.
i initially backed india in a multi, then ashamed to say made contigency bet on windies. but the narine and dhawan over 28 got up, but gayle above 28 no good. oh well all fun, go a cpl bob.
new zealand might be a chance tomorrow i think…$2.12 is a bit short tho for underdog. watson over 28 definate….and really like ross taylor although not in the best form. ashes are going to be exciting….however much aussies get pumped by.

    • Ellis 11 years ago

dreadful day at the office pal :( I think im looking into Australia tomorrow claw some back

  5. virtuoso 11 years ago

    E.Gulbis – M.Baghdatis 1
    Del Potro – Mallise set(2:0)
    B.Paire – Kudla set(2:0)

    super single:

    Raonic – G.Monfils 2

    Good luck everybody :)

    • Ellis 11 years ago

I think Milos Raonic is a good bet mate, but isn’t that not at queens?

  6. Malisha 11 years ago

    Querrey @1.2 vs Bedene
    Wickmayer @1.55 vs Putintseva
    Goerges @1.35 vs Cadantu
    Larsson @1.6 vs Beygelzimer

  7. Ellis 11 years ago

I stick by my earlier tip and

BACK THE WEST INDIES IN PLAY AT 11/10

  8. Titou 11 years ago

i backed over 10.5 Games in the 1st set of Monfils vs Raonic @ 3.5 Looks tough Monfils has started well Raonic abit shaky

  9. Ellis 11 years ago

Receent form told me not to back Raonic, without his serve on top game hes useless

  10. Titou 11 years ago

    3 Fold of
    Jerzy Janowicz
    Lukas Rosol
    Gael Monfils
    @ 2.78

    • Titou 11 years ago

Just realized my 3 fold has now turned into a 2fold Monfils & Rosol both won, backed Jerzy Janowicz to beat Philipp Petzschner turns out that match got cancelled & Voided by bet365, had my eye on him vs Basic too saying that 1-1 on set 5-5 last set might have saved my winnings

    • Titou 11 years ago

Jerzy Janowicz Lost to Mirza Basic Happy Days :)

  11. Titou 11 years ago

even when his Serve is on top form his return game is Poor i was expecting maybe a tie break was a close one on to the next one ayy ;)

  12. 1plus2 11 years ago

Rosal 1-0 down so he needs tae get his erse in gear 2nd set ;-)

  13. Titou 11 years ago

1-1 he up’d it nicely ;) come on Lukas

  14. 1plus2 11 years ago

Yup Titou should have had a snifter at 7/4 in play but always in hindsight, gamblings such a roller coaster of a ride at times ;-)

  15. 1plus2 11 years ago

Rain delay now ffs with Rosal finally setting the pace hopefully it does not scupper him on the return, 3-0 up tho in last set surely it won’t go pete tong ?

  16. Titou 11 years ago

haha hindsight’s a beautiful thing 1plus2, he wrapped it up nicely 6-2 last set :D Get inn

  17. 1plus2 11 years ago

Nice Titou lol well done Ellis 1 down 2 to go

  18. Titou 11 years ago

    Thanks man

  19. 1plus2 11 years ago

Jerzy Janowicz lost so a blessing in disguise maybe ?

    • Titou 11 years ago

      Most Definatly

  20. Allen 11 years ago

Hi Mr F. could you open the Racing Tips & Chat thread up so those tips are on their own, not hid in the ‘Tennis Tips.

    Cheers,

    Allen

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Allen, we’ll sort something out at the weekend or next week. I’m away tomorrow for a couple of days so hopefully get racing on when I return.

  21. Ellis 11 years ago

no worries 1plus2, not up yet so don’t thank me haha, close game though, mahut on soon

ill be doing some posts daily hopefully make you all some money after having discussions with Mr F

  22. Ellis 11 years ago

hopefully, ill be off to a winning start today, the first of many I hope

    • Brian 11 years ago

LUKAS ROSOL TO WIN vs Samuel Groth 2/5
MARIN CILIC TO WIN vs Ivan Dodig 4/11
NICOLAS MAHUT TO WIN vs Rhyne Williams 4/9

      2/5, 4/11, 4/9

      you got any value?

Nearly as bad as your basketball tip, weren’t you the one who tipped a 1/16 shot?

    • Ellis 11 years ago

Mate, I’m here to try and help people win some money

If I see a 10/1 shot I think will come in I will give it whats the point. Id rather give tips where people can easily double there money or just under which will win, hence tips with reasoning, 10/1 shots or even 3 or 4 to one shots are there for a reason

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Ellis, Brian is Milesey so best to ignore his comments.

    • Brian 11 years ago

      I beg your pardon ?

    • Brian 11 years ago

I AM BRIAN AND SO IS MY WIFE

    • Ellis 11 years ago

      Cheers Mr F

    • Brian 11 years ago

£10 for a £17 profit ? is that worth it.

you fancy these players to win then why not bet 2-0 in set betting, be more value if doing a treble, i can get that profit on one 2-0 single, not 3 players having to win.

    • Ellis 11 years ago

Yes Milesy, im not getting involved in this argument, but tennis players aren’t perfect. If you had have backed Rosol to win 2-0 then you would have lost so ill pick my trebles, singles or whatever out and try and win people some money. I picked him to add value to my money

    • Brian 11 years ago

i’M NOT mILESEY,BuT oTHERS HAVE been slated for putting on odds on trebles, Lets Hope yours Dont go down the Pan Like your 1/16 BASKETBALL tip you gave, i am Sillius Soddus or Biggus Dickus !

    • Ellis 11 years ago

its nearly 2/1 many people see that as value

  23. 1plus2 11 years ago

I am usually pants at tennis especially when they are meant to be certainties so I am more than glad to look at your tips m8 at least that way I can blame someone else lol.

PS your positivity there fills me with confidence ;-)

  24. Ellis 11 years ago

Haha the rain delay isn’t helping

    • 1plus2 11 years ago

Was fine for Rosal I’m sure it will be fine for the rest m8 kismet as they say lol

  25. Lord Clegg 11 years ago

I think I’m going to go back to betting on the tennis- my success rate is better. Backed the wrong Follo last night and it cost me a tenner! My tip is don’t follow Follo.

  26. Ellis 11 years ago

Milesy, it was part of a four folds that won,, look people can slate me all they like, ive been given an opportunity to provide winning tips. you wouldn’t have picked any from todays tennis card it was limited. just leave me to it mate

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Ellis, as I said don’t rise to it. If your treble comes in at 2-1 it’s better than putting up a 10-1 loser. That’s something I’ve learned down the years.

  27. Guy.L 11 years ago

WI – Narine most wickets $3.5 Sharma and Dharwan both over 28’s…..WIndies don’t have an ‘innings’ batting lineup, too much cameo, not enough glue. but called these 3 :)..NZ cld be dark horse vs Aus.

  28. Ellis 11 years ago

yeah I might leave it tomorrow for the cricket, will probably post some tips tonight… Narine is joint on wickets isn’t he?

  29. Ellis 11 years ago

Rain delay at the cricket….lets hope for a call off haha

  30. Ellis 11 years ago

Is a tennis thread going on tonight Mr F or would you like me to email you one

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Ellis, I’ll put up a thread then you can comment again.

  31. Madi 11 years ago

    Did the treble come in??

    • Ellis 11 years ago

Rain delays have meant two havnt started yet mate

      Rosol won

  32. Ellis 11 years ago

we will get the refund for postponement haha

  33. Darren 11 years ago

Cheers Ellis some of us appreciate the tips, unlike some people.
If makes a profit however big or small i’me happy.
If people don’t want to bet on them, don’t bet on them,no one is making you bet on them.

  34. Ellis 11 years ago

no worries pal, hope I do well for you, all being well ill be doing them a bit more often now

  35. Ellis 11 years ago

off to work now and hope the tips come in, will put tomorrows on when I get in late tonight

  40. ellis 11 years ago

Mr F put the treble on hold
Looks like we are waiting until tomorrow for cilic result due to postponement

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Ellis, no worries, at least it wasn’t a loser.

  41. Madi 11 years ago

Waiting on Cillic for the treble, nice one :)

  42. ellis 11 years ago

Haha eager wait until the morning. Just finished work. Will put tips up later but might be treble again as postponements mean full schedule won’t be sorted

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

ellis, I’ll put up a post now. Whether I do a new tomorrow depends on my wifi availability and state of soberness in Amsterdam. If I don’t get a new one just post Thursday’s tips on the old one.

  43. ellis 11 years ago

Yeah no worries Paul. Email me when you speak to admin as I say I will love the oportunity and todays response has been positive

  44. ellis 11 years ago

Just let me know after the conference

  45. Ellis 11 years ago

1plus2, Mr T and Titou, tomorrows tips are up welcome on your thoughts

  46. 1plus2 11 years ago

    Here’s a thought Don’t give yer day job up !!! ;-)
