Atletico v Sao Paulo / Sunday 22:30
Second match day from the Brazilian top flight, two of the main title contenders going head to head. The action comes from Belo Horizonte as Atletico Miniero host Sao Paulo.
Atletico came through a tough Copa Libertadores quarter final on Thursday night with a last minute penalty save from Victor ensuring their progress on away goals, they have now been installed as strong favourites for the competition at 1.81.
Led by the enigmatic Ronaldinho, Atletico finished runners up last year after a thrilling campaign outscoring every other team in the league. This season didn’t start so well, the ‘Galo’ lost their first game but that was due partially to them missing a lot of their first team.
Although a little jaded from the win over Tijuana they should put out their best eleven on Sunday for the first home league match of the season. Expect to see Ronaldinho supporting Tardelli and Jo up front, without a win in four in all competitions it’s time for them to up their game.
The visitors won’t make that easy. Sao Paulo have showed real intent in their opening two league matches, winning both and scoring seven in the process. Luis Fabiano looked red hot last week as they cruised past Vasco, they currently sit top of the pile.
New signing Lucio, the ageless indomitable defender will start again but don’t expect to see the much-hyped Ganso, his injury problems seem never ending.
The last time these two met was a month ago in the Copa Libertadores, Atletico shone, winning both legs and netting four at home including a hatrick for Jo.
With so much fire power on show expect an entertaining contest, goals are guaranteed so it’ll be worth staying up for.

Lanus are odds-on for their clash with Belgrano in the Argentinian Torneo Final this evening but the hosts could be vulnerable for win purposes.
When you lay over 2.5 goals and it’s 0-0 after 83 minutes you assume the bet is pretty safe. Not yesterday though as there were four goals at the death. While it’s chalked up as a loser for this column I hope that some of you used the Cash Out option to lock in a nice profit.
Lanus are third in the Torneo Final with four games to go after finishing fourth in the Torneo Inicial. They have only lost once during the second stage of the season, but seven draws from their 15 fixtures have left them four points behind Newell’s Old Boys at the top.
Guillermo Barros Schelotto’s sides sole defeat was actually last time out at the mid-table San Martin San Juan and they’ve now just won one of their last half dozen. It seems that the players are running out of steam and it’s possible that now the chance to finish top has all but gone, we could see them coasting for the rest of the campaign.
Belgrano finished third in the Torneo Inicial but similar to their opponents, they’ve drawn far too many matches in the Toreno Final and are down in 10th place with 20 points. They’ve actually only lost three times – a record bettered by just Lanus and River Plate – but they’ve recorded only four victories – a win percentage of a shade over 25%.
Nevertheless, avoiding defeat would be good enough for us tonight and that’s something they’ve done in in each of their last four fixtures. It gets even better on the road as away from El Gigante de Alberdi, Ricardo Zielinski’s men are five unbeaten, conceding just three goals in that period.
The draw is a huge runner in this one and I certainly wouldn’t back Lanus at odds-on. That’s why, with their price trading around the 1.9 mark, I have to make them my lay of the day.

Sweden has an important month in the World Cup Qualification, so they have included Ibrahimovic, Toivonen and Elmander in the squad which overall looks very strong. The Swedes are currently third in their group, but with good results against Austria and the Faroe Islands this months the blue and yellow vikings are a few step closer to Brazil.
Macedonia have no Brazil chances. They’ve opened with 4 points in 6 games, and they haven’t gotten any qualification matches until the autumn either. They’ve picked what seems to be a very attack minded squad. That said: Here they’ll miss their influential captain, Pandev.
1.25 – 1.30 (1/4 – 3/10) doesn’t look interesting for the home win, but since Sweden has scored two or more in 7 out of their last 10 home games I am having a look at the Asian Handicap lines. Sweden -1.5 at 1.95 (19/20) looks interesting. I think the Swedish defense with the likes of Olsson (WBA), Lustig (Celtic) and Granqvist (Genoa) should be more than capable of handling the Macedonian offensive players. The games bet365 price up around 4/5 5/6 10/11 for over 3.5 goals ( Norway, Iceland, Austrailian, u19 an u21 games in the Czech Republic, Hungary Finland etc) 1.5 fhg is priced around 5/6 10/11, had a lot of luck with those, hoping this keeps me tiking over during the sad depressing months of June an July! :)
Both Southside and Pine Rivers are in Capital League 1 which seems to be a league below Peninsula and Brisbane. Both capital league 1 sides are mid table and Pine Rivers haven’t copped any beatings in their league. Southside have lost 1-4 and 1-5 in their league but both away from home while today, they are home to a Brisbane side who are awful away from home with 5-6, 0-4, 2-3, 2-6 and 2-6 losses on the road in their league. I’d hope both games will have goals and would expect Peninsula to win by a couple whereas Brisbane might be on the end of a shock. We will see!

My unparalleled ability to lose shows no signs of ending. I really need to consider quitting betting because it’s just getting silly. I don’t bet on stupid outrageous events, I research and take my time but never get any luck. Worst of all, I miss out on winning bets all the time where I spot a game but am away when it is on. This losing streak I am on is depressing.
And I don’t know how you win so much on over 1.5HT goals Greg because I lose 85% of the time on those bets.

I’ve just lost my job and need to start thinking about giving up – might just start sticking £5 bet and placing bets of 1/5-1/10 try and build up slowly. 50 consecutive successful bets at these odds will net you over £500. At least you’ll still be gambling and if you lose, so what. It requires patience to build up your winnings though.

I’m telling you something, this gypsy curse is really killing me! Had a game with over 2.5 goals for HT at 11/8 involving a team at 1/33. Started very well and was 1-1 at 15 minutes. The favourite team missed a penalty at 23 minutes and it ended 1-1 at half time, fucking ridiculous.
I am going VERY aggressive on the Rosenberg game so I’d avoid it if I were you guys. I’m only half-joking.
I know the game you are talking about, i didn´t go in on that because the markets weren´t good enough and i didn´t get enough info. Remember what Bp wrote, Steinkjer isn´t as strong as Buvik or Orkla be careful. I´m checking the Portugal vs Bulgaria u19 game. Portugal has a very good team with Bruma already playing for Sporting´s main team and attracting interest from many top clubs since he is a “wonderkid”. João Cancelo also a good player from Benfica. I´ve bet on this game too but i´m always cautious with Portugal. Lack of strikers kills us. That and i don´t have much info on Bulgaria. Even so i´m going +1,5 and 2,5 ht on that game and +3,5 Ft.

Aye i´m checking it out on the Uefa site. I didn´t bet hard on that game, just think we have a strong team. Can´t bet strong without knowing the opponent. Even so i think the +1,5 ht and 3,5ft will probably go in, the +2,5 lets see how it goes
