I TIPPED Serena Williams to win the women's singles at the start of the tournament – and it was a no-brainer really.
The American has cruised into today's final barring one scare when Heather Watson pushed her all the way.
That was a shock but Williams has grown into the tournament and swatted away the annoying Maria Sharapova in the way a grizzly bear would shrug off a fly.
Williams now faces surprise girl Garbine Muguruza who is given little hope in her first Grand Slam final – Williams has won 12 of her last 13 finals – despite beating her in the French Open last year.
The Spaniard has battled through superbly, beating the likes of Caroline Wozniacki and Agnieszka Radwanska but no one can live with Williams or the power and accuracy of her serve at the moment.
Williams is chasing the Serena Slam and the Grand Slam and is no bigger than 1-6 with William Hill to win the title and just 1-2 at Hills to triumph in two sets.
I'm hoping Muguruza can take the fight to her more illustrious opponent but 2-0 looks the most likely scoreline. To win 2-1 Williams is 7-2 at Ladbrokes while Muguruza is 11-2 at boylesports to cause a major surprise by lifting the title and 13-8 with Coral to win a set.
She is 11-1 at Coral to triumph 2-0 and 11-1 with bet365 to beat Williams 2-1.

Hi MrF. I don’t comment much, if at all, as I am not confident enough with my betting to advise others on my selections. However I have followed your site for a while now and thanks for the past tips!
What are yours (or other site users) thoughts on over 3.5 aces from muguruza today? Pays evens and doesn’t seem a lot even if she is up against serena…?
Alternatively over 15.5 aces in the game pays the same…?
Also any tips for the friendlies today?
JY, over 15.5 match aces is likely if it goes 3 sets. I don’t know the Muguruza stats from previous games to say whether she is expected to hit four or more aces.
Looking at today’s football card at the moment – lost a day yesterday.
Ok thanks for the reply, might just have a small stake on the suggested then.
