THERE'S no doubt the double people will want to be tonight is Leicester and Atletico Madrid – but remember the La Liga high-fliers are without Radamal Falcao.

Leicester sit second in the Championship and are looking to take three points at home to struggling Wolves as they try to cement their automatic promotion spot and chase down leaders Cardiff.

The Foxes are no bigger than 8-15 with Paddy Power and Ladbrokes and while it's slightly skinny for a Championship game Dean Saunders' Wolves are worth opposing.

Saunders' arrival from Doncaster boosted optimism at Molineux but he's without a win in his first three games and battling to keep hold of players such as Sylvan Ebanks-Blake and Stephen Ward before the transfer window shuts tonight.

So it's Leicester for me and once again I'm tempted by Chris Wood to score first. He's taken his tally to 16 league goals with five in three after joining Leicester from Birmingham and he's hit the opener in two of his last four games – as well as coming off the bench to rescue FA Cup hopes with an equaliser at Huddersfield last weekend.

Wood is 7-2 (various) to break the deadlock and 1-1 at 888sport to net at anytime. Team-mate David Nugent will give him competition and he is 9-2 at Ladbrokes and 6-5 respectively.

Ebanks-Blake and Ward are set to start despite the speculation over their futures and the experienced striker is 19-2 with BetVictor to score first and 10-3 at Coral to net at anytime.

Four of the last five meetings have seen both score so it's worth considering at 1-1 at boylesports but it might be better going for over 2.5 goals at 4-5 with BetVictor in case Leicester romp this to nil.

The Leicester/Atletico Madrid double pays £26.30 with William Hill and Atletico are aiming for an astonishing 20th home win in a row against Sevilla in the first leg of their Spanish Cup semi-final.

Atletico have won the last 11 of those to nil and Sevilla have failed to score on their last three visits to the Vicente Calderon – including a 4-0 defeat in November – so consider Paddy Power's 15-8 on another home win to nil.

The Madrid men are 8-11 at William Hill to carve out a first-leg lead but punters have to decide whether they can do it without hotshot Colombian striker Falcao.

Atletico missed him badly as they crashed 3-0 to Athletic Bilbao at the weekend but they are more than a one-man team and the Calderon's turned into a cauldron with many visiting sides beaten before they step on to the pitch.

Sevilla are unbeaten in four but I'm willing to keep with faith with Atletico who need the likes of Adrian and Turan to step up to the plate in Falcao's absence. Adrian is the most likely scorer and he is 8-5 at bet365 to net at anytime.

Alvaro Negredo, 12-5 with Paddy Power to score, looks like missing out as Everton negotiate a move for the striker.

Sevilla are as big as 9-2 at Paddy Power and Ladbrokes to win and anyone who doesn't fancy Atletico without Falcao can consider Sevilla draw no bet at 3-1 with 888sport.

I'm thinking about going under 2.5 goals at 1-1 with 888sport with a low scorer looking a possibility.

Ajax threw away a two-goal lead to surprisingly lose 3-2 at Vitesse in the league at the weekend – and were also beaten by tem at home earlier in the season. The sides meet again in the cup tonight and I can't see Frank de Boer's side repeating the slip-ups.

In a match moved from Vitesse's stadium to Emmen's home, Ajax are a best 4-5 with Blue Square and De Boer has promised not to be a bore by fielding a strong side.

Thirteen of the last 15 meetings have been over 2.5 goals so consider over 3.5 at 11-8 with bet365 as over 2.5 and both teams to score prices are pretty short.

The Leicester/Atletico/Ajax treble pays a best £45.90 to a £10 stake at William Hill but as I've written there are some doubts over the Spaniards and Dutch.

Recommendations

Wood to score
(1-1, 888sport)

Under 2.5 goals
(1-1, 888sport)

Over 3.5 goals at Vitesse
(11-8, Stan James)

I’m not sure if i will be betting on anything tonight … with it being transfer deadline day I’m sure a lot of player/ managers heads will be else where and there could be some upsets tonight … will prob just leave it until the weekend

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

AC, you could be right although teams playing tonight will have been aware of the situation for some time.

  2. AC 11 years ago

Doesn’t stop the panic buying at the last minute, I suppose the teams playing tonight shouldn’t be too effected … it does look like the QPR medical team are going to be very busy tonight.

  3. Jonathan Grieve 11 years ago

I read Everton were on the verge of signing Negredo. Maybe worth checking 2 see if he plays before betting on that game
