MANY sports fans will be early to watch Andy Murray v Novak Djokovic in the Australian Open Final. If it turns into a marathon you might not want to switch over to Real Madrid v Getafe.
I can't remember the last time a Real match kicked off at 11am UK time but it gives punters a chance to land an early boost.
Real were back to their best in hammering Valencia 5-0 in La Liga before taking their foot off the gas for a 1-1 second-leg draw.
Jose Mourinho's men lost in Getafe earlier in the season so will be busting a gut to wreak revenge. Biggest price on a home is 1-6 (various).
Elsewhere I've suggested Liverpool, Chelsea and Spurs minus one in the FA Cup and it could be day to back the favourites this way, including Barcelona against Osasuna and Bayern Munich at Stuttgart.
I was going to put a treble but although I don't like doing a sixfold, looking at these I can't see any of them slipping up.
Odd are short of course but the super six pays just over 4-1 and that's similar to what I'd do with the treble.
You could be even greedier and add Celtic against St Mirren in the League Cup semis and PSG at home to Lille in the French league but I'd never advocate an eightfold.
For my Super Single I looked at AC Milan at Atalanta but settled for Napoli at Parma. Napoli will be lifted by the fact leaders Juventus were held at home to Genoa on Saturday so they can close to within three point of the champions.
Parma are unbeaten in six but have lost four of their last five to the Naples outfit. The difference here could be Edison Cavani who has netted 11 goals in his last 10 games and is 7-2 at Betway to bag the opener.

Tiger Woods, who didn’t even come to Torrey Pines on Saturday, remains in the driver’s seat — in more ways than one. Not to mention, Woods is hitting the ball extremely well. He leads the field in both driving distance and total driving which is a lethal combination on a damp South Course that will be playing longer than its 7,698 yards. He’s not going to be undone by the delay, either.
“I have been out here long enough to know that this is a part of the game,” Woods said. “I’ll be ready to go tomorrow.”
None of the seven players closest to Woods have won a PGA TOUR event, either. He has won 74, which ranks second all-time, including three last year. He had to start somewhere, though, way back at the 1996 Las Vegas Invitational when he was 21 years old, and they might as well, too. But it will likely take the best golf of their careers.
“The guy that’s winning the golf tournament has won a lot before, so in order to beat him, you’re going to have to play some good golf and everybody knows that,” said Casey Wittenberg, who is among six players tied at 8 under, three off the lead. “So we’ll have to get out there and see what we can do.”
Billy Horschel, who said he never came close to warming up on Saturday, trails Woods by two at 9 under. He’ll play with him for the first — and second — time, too, since the players won’t be re-paired for the final round in an attempt to get done as quickly as possible.
“It’s a pretty cool thing that’s going to happen,” the eager 28-year-old said.
Horschel said he’s gotten plenty of advice from friends and fellow players about playing with Woods. Jim Furyk texted him and told the Florida grad to make sure and play his own game. Defending champion Brandt Snedeker cautioned not to get caught up in the atmosphere or anything Woods does.
“You’re going to have to grind some stuff out,” Horschel said. “Don’t try to match him or anything that he does. He’s going to be making some incredible shots, whether he’s 8 over par or 8 under par, it doesn’t really matter.
“I think the gist of it comes down to that everyone just said play your own game.”
Sometimes, though, that’s easier said than done.

Terrible day on th GG’s yesterday & my football was even worse. I did a crazy bet on Luton, MK Dons to win and Boro v Aldershot to draw which was looking good until the 93rd minute for about £1500 for my £10 – gutted or what?!
Anyway, on Monday me and 3 mates are doing a little comp we do 3 times a year where we all start with £200 and the person with the most winnings at the end of the month wins. We usually do either footy or horses and I do ok on horses but rubbish on footy and this time it is a combo of the two. The winner gets £200 off everyone so if you lose your starting pot you can end up losing £400. Any profit made by all of us goes on a good night out and some to charity etc. last time we did it was September and one of my mates mate just under £10K! Where as I went for bust on the last weekend and lost the lot – I was only on £350 but still cost me and its more about the bragging rights.
I was hoping that you and Mr F might fancy helping me out this time by suggesting bets and stakes for me? Have to be a bit cautious with it as you are not supposed to replenish your starting kitty – although I am sure some do but it means you lose more!!

Muzza, at the end of the day you’re playing a dangerous game because you’re inessence trying to chase a profit. If it was me I’d tke the tips I like here, betting mostly singles, and see where it takes me. The important thing is not to lose but even without your game that’s why punters try to do anyway. I’m sure, however, Milesey will give you some ideas because this seems right up his street.

Craig, I think it’s the right way if the prices are good enough. Some bookies, for example Betway, will return your stake if you get one wrong in an accumulator. But check the terms and conditions.

I have a query regarding the time of the 5th goal in the Man Utd vs Fulham match yesterday. I placed a bet on Under 4.5 Goals at a price of 10/11 in the Man Utd game in-running.
When the the bet was placed in-shop, Man Utd were winning 4-0, however, Fulham then scored.
What I am trying to establish is whether Fulham scored before my bet was struck or if they scored after my bet was struck.
My bet was struck at 19:05:46. At best, my bet would be void if it was struck seconds after Fulham had already scored.

Cheers Paul. I am under the impression that when my bet was struck, the betting was in the process of being suspended. What I don’t know is if the betting had already been suspended or was it in the process of being suspended? It’s a fine line with literally seconds in it either way.

If it was suspended they shouldn’t have taken the bet, just go in with your slip and see what they say when they scan it, they may just pay you out, if they don’t argue it, for they shouldn’t have taken it if the market is suspended !

I know many a trick for getting bets void, or arguing to get your money in the shops, a good one is always writing the wrong time on your slip for a dog race, if it don’t come in you get the bet void ;)

They still go through in corals even now, the shop has to be busy and the race just about to go off…. there is someone who used to do this all the time in my local corals and they banned him, another one of his tricks was to get his bet on late and argue that he has problems with his legs and went as fast as he could hahaha, he used to sit in the pub next door and get his lad to do them for him after he got banned, then a member of staff followed the lad into the pub and led them straight to the bloke that was banned already !

That’s the highest amount I’ve staked on him I believe. Its usually £50 first, £100 anytime. I will bet £100 first and £200 anytime for 4 weeks now and then may look at increasing again. Money for both, so it’s one Punters don’t seem to know anything about, alot of money for the draw 21/10, been told both are trading around the 7/4 mark. Maybe it’s one to leave alone for no one seems to know anything about whats going to happen here, the draw seems to be what people are favouring though, maybe because there have been quite a few draws already.
Guido, I’ve had a quick look at some of the sites I use and most preferred tip seems to be Cape Verde draw no bet. Suggestions are that they are closely matched but Angola lack a goal threat. Plenty tipping a draw but a draw doesn’t suit either with the winner likely to qualify. Might be better to watch it then have a go inrunning, especially if Cape Verde are looking decent.

For anyone who is interested here are the prices available for a player to score in first 10 mins. I would keep stakes fairly low (says me who stuck £50 on it). There are no coupons available in William Hill, the staff just have a small card behind the counter with prices. You just look at the price for first goal and you get the 10 min price. Id stick to odds on favs at home. It is a novelty bet but returns are great. For instance a £5 double on Hooper and RVP would return in the region of £975 and its not impossible. You could even pick 4 scorers and stick on a £1 yankee. £1 double will pay around £200. Anyway as I say there are no coupons, the staff just work from a small card with prices on it kept behind the counter. I asked the staff for a copy so they put it through the machine and copies it onto a betting slip for me. Anyway here are the prices:

PSG 1-0 was my get out of jail card for all the shocking results today. Wasn’t even goin to do it, told the boys at work earlier I’m finished for good. Decided to nip in to the bookies on the way home and have one last try, I’m not really a fan of correct scores either. I think I might have read here last week about French games finishing 1-0 on Sunday nights. Might be something to keep in mind !!
