THE Australian Open is down to the last-16 stage and both Andy Murray and Dan Evans are in overnight action as they bid to keep the flag flying.
Title favourite Murray faces Germany's world No.50 Mischa Zverev and is 7-19 at Marathonbet to win 3-0 while BetVictor make Zverev a 10-3 chance to win a set.

The Packers signed a WR off their practice squad today which isn’t a good sign with Nelson, Adams and G-Mo questionable. There has also been a virus going round the Packer camp which Aaron Rodgers admitted to having but said ‘he’ll be ok’. As much as I’d love for the Pack to get to Houston, this is a massive game and I can’t back anything in their current situation. I posted the Pats to win the AFC weeks ago @ 11/10 so I don’t necessarily need to post anything this weekend. I’ve taken the Cook yards because he has turned into one of Rodgers most trusted receivers, he’s healthy, and also a matchup nightmare. Over 100 yards against the Cowgirls last week and has another defense who have been weak against the big men on the season. I may post another double but it won’t be until I know who is active for Green Bay.
Again I’ve posted Lewis to score for the Pats after his hat trick last weekend against Houston. The Pats are 15-0 when Lewis has started, and while Blount will get the touches at the goal line, Lewis showed he’s not just a threat out the backfield, but also in the return game.

LF, bets around EVS are hard enough to land as it is. If you ask me, there is no point doing bets like that as a challenge, because the chances of going on an unbeaten run are very slim. I know you don’t have to hit many to get to £200 (or wherever) but you might as well just do like I do and try and find something around that price everyday. If it loses it loses, but at least you’re not staking huge amounts on the 4th or 5th bet. Just an observation mate.

Basketball on the other hand – you have little to no chance of multiplying your stake by ten or more. If it’s £10- £20 you can afford to throw away for a little fun, then why not, but I wouldn’t expect to make any profit longterm.

Trying to preview this game is a little strange. You have one player who performed poorly in his 1st 2 games and then excellently in the SF against a player who performed very well in his 1st 2 games and then poorly in his SF. Both players have been on the brink of being knocked out and are here on borrowed time. Liang missed an easy black in the 1st round to beat O’Sullivan and then last night Perry was 5-2 down and needing a snooker when he staged a Lazarus like comeback.
Last night, Perry’s carefree attitude seemed to go out the window and he started to think more about his shots as the pressure grew. I think it was after 8 frames, his pot % was at 77. If it his pot % is 77 after 8 frames today, he will be 8-0 down. O’Sullivan finally pulled himself together yesterday with an exceptional performance against Fu. I think he will continue that into today and it could be over quite early. In the 18 frames he has won this week, he has made 15 50+ breaks and if Perry’s potting is like what it was yesterday, he will leave O’Sullivan in the balls with plenty of chances to score big.
As expected the price on O’Sullivan has shortened a little. If 4/6 is a little short for people, -4.5 is available at 11/10 which I would also expect to land as I reckon it finishes around 10-4.

Don’t have time for a write up this afternoon, but quite like Lakers to win this one outright.
Adams, G-Mo and Nelson are supposedly all a go today for Green Bay, with Nelson supposedly wearing Kevlar sheets to protect his ribs. Although all are likely not fully fit, Rodgers has the ability to make any receiver look good by his ball placement and the PAck will still get their joy. The points total was set high for a reason and the winner will need to put up 30 to win. Both sides could easily eclipse that though. As I said last week Seattle left many points on the sidelines from penalties and turnovers, Rodgers won’t make those kind of errors (I hope). While our offense should still click, there’s no denying Atlanta’s will and Capers will have to dial up some zone blitzes to keep Ryan guessing.
One NFL no-no I have is to never back against Brady and Belicheck at home, and despite the Steelers having the better offense, Belichick always takes away his opponents best player. While you could toss it up between Bell and Brown, for me Bell is their main threat. That should give Antonio Brown some joy on the outside (he’s got the better of Malcom Butler in their previous match-ups) but to go against Brady on his ultimate suspension/fifth ring revenge would be suicidal. Like Rodgers, he’ll make any receiver look like a Pro-Bowler and they should get to Houston and land my AFC bet if they can do what the Chiefs did last weekend and limit the Steelers to field goals.
I’ve decided not to go for a double as my AFC bet may come to nothing, but I’m going to post one without points staked. Some people might think that is wrong, but at the end of the day I am on here to advise bets as well as placing my own, and not everyone posts points anyway, so how do we know they are placing them?

Hey all your main man Max here with my tips for the NFC Championship game. Last Saturday I went 4 out of 6 and whilst Sunday wasn’t as good I did smash Witten’s prop and my unloved dog tip landed. Beasley was 1yd shy but I did advise lower yardage to my followers at smaller odds and I know they appreciated that.
The line is as big as I can remember in all my years watching the NFL and you can understand why. Last time they met it was a shootout and Falcons are averaging close to 35ppg. Green Bay have given up 300+ yads through the air the past 5 weeks and now they head to the Dome to face Matty Ice. I’m taking him to go O312.5yds at 5/6 Paddy Power.

Disappointing to finish the week with 2 losers. If anyone sees me putting up a tip with the name “O’Sullivan” on either side of the bet, someone quickly remind me of all the money he has lost me before. Cannot get the right side of him at all.
