THE new PDC world darts champ will be crowned tonight with reigning title holder Gary Anderson going up against record breaker Michael van Gerwen.
The Dutchman posted a 114.05 average – the highest in World Championship history – as he blitzed Raymond van Barneveld to set up a meeting with the Flying Scotsman, who eased past Peter Wright in the semis.
MVG is unsuprisingly odds-on favourite at 10-29 with Marathonbet to clinch his third world title while Anderson is 3-1 at Stan James.
The tennis season is back and Roger Federer returns from a six-month injury lay-off today as the build-up begins to the Australian Open.

Just in to see the NFL results. Not only was it disheartening to see Seattle taking knees after a third down conversion which saw them run the clock out, but also to see the 49ers score a safety by a botche dpunt which at 2 points, could have been the difference to the -3.5. It was a heavy loss on the final week but ante posts are still up for grabs which can be covered with the Lions to win. I’m not going to do so until possible late on as I’m looking at a nice sum back.

Really did not see a performance of that level coming from Barney. I’ve not seen him play like that since winning the Premier League. To average 109 and have a 68% success rate on doubles whilst losing is very unfortunate. Those type of stats would’ve seen him romp home against most player’s but all it served to do was put MVG in 6th gear. Nevertheless he now holds the record for the highest averaging loser in World Championship history. Just missed out on the 170 finish bet as MVG missed the bull after hitting two treble 20’s and there were a couple of near 9-darters in Anderson’s match but ultimately no joy.

Not had much time yet man, but at a first glance with little research… Warriors -14.5.
The Nuggets lost their last game at home to the worst team in the NBA.. and were crushed by Golden State by 24 points earlier in the season.
Nuggets also have the King’s at home tomorrow, which is a much more winnable game.. if they’re getting destroyed by the Warriors they could well just ease up, take a big loss, save energy for the King’s.
That’s my thoughts atm.

The final everyone wanted to see with the world #1 v #2. 2 of them have been pretty incredible so far especially MVG but that nearly has become his norm. Its hard to see either running away this with both likely to be averaging around 105+. I expect both to win at least 4 sets each bringing in the over 10.5 sets.
The 180s bet is a risky one as both are generally big hitters of the T20 but I just think the line is a little high. The world record for no. of 180s in a match is 32 so they could break the record and the bet could still land. MVG also likes to switch to T19 last dart occasionally which may be all that is needed to keep the total below 33.

Its the final we all wanted to see; current world champion Gary Anderson against current world number one Michael Van Gerwen. Anderson is chasing a historic hatrick of titles whilst MVG desperately wants to win the main one for only a second time after clearing nearly everything else up this year.
My main bet will be MVG to nail a 144 or higher checkout. On his route to the final he’s taken out some massive finishes including THREE 170’s, a 167, a 164 a 161 plus many more smaller mid to high ton outs. He is simply put the best finisher in the game and you feel that if he is presented with a biggie tonight at some point it will go. He is especially deadly on combination shots involving two treble 20’s so in theory 144, 152, 156, 160 & 170 outs will be right up his alley not to mention the fact that he is also just as good all over the board for other combo’s.
In last year’s Championship final against Lewis, Anderson hit fifteen 180’s in a 7-5 sets win. Yesterday’s semi final against Peter wright also saw him hit fifteen max’s in his 6-3 victory. He is definitely finding his range more now that he is playing with the glasses and he should be good value to find one more tonight with the additional set to break his 180 line.
Yesterday MVG came as close we’ve seen this year to a 9-darter throwing eight perfect darts before wiring the final one on double twelve. There has been a 9-darter every year in the World Championship since 2010 but we’ve been yet to see one. The final usually produces the highest quality arrows and considering the two participants its definitely a good idea to back the 9-darter.

Evening all i started off 2017 just like I ended 2016 tipping winners :-) I advised to stay away from dead rubber games and that proved the correct decision with the usual shock results in week 17. The 49ers were getting 11pts on the handicap and they easily covered that, hope nobody got burnt on that, same with the Browns taking Pittsburgh to OT.

The scoring was so heavy and consistent from both players that there was only a handful of opportunities for big checkouts. MVG missed bull for a 170 after hitting the first two treble 20’s and Anderson never really looked like taking out a high ton. When MVG plays like that it is near on impossible for anybody to stay with him – he simply gets better in matches whilst others endure dips or drop off. A very deserving champion indeed.
