WINS for Atletico Madrid, Benfica and Belenenses plus Falcao's opener made it a good Thursday – and there's enough for punters to get their teeth into tonight.

There's a big game in the Championship with Leicester entertaining Middlesbrough. A plunge on the Foxes, who have won four in a row, has seen their price drop to a best 8-11 (various) when you'd be looking for nearer evens.

Boro have lost two in a row but remain in the promotion hunt and have key players such as Andre Bikey back so it's not an easy call.

However, the difference could be hotshot Chris Wood who has netted six goals in three games since signing from West Brom. Instead of backing Leicester look at Wood to score at 11-10 at BetVictor and he is 7-2 (various) to hit the opener.

On the continent there's bound to be money on French league leaders Lyon at home to Evian who have lost five players to the African Nations.

Lyon have won their last two to climb above PSG and face a side that's lost four out of five even with their stars. I can't see past Lyon at 2-5 with William Hill and BetVictor and as that's short try them minus one at 11-10 with boylesports.

Schalke have lost three in a row in Germany and not won in six – but both teams have scored in all of those matches.

So that could be the best bet for the visit of a Hannover side who lost 5-1 at Dortmund last time out and whose previous five have seen both scoring. Ladbrokes offer 4-6.

Neither side inspire confidence but I'm tempted slightly by Hannover draw no bet at 11-4 at Coral while just to win Hannover are 4-1 with firms such as Ladbrokes and William Hill.

Both teams to score is also on in La Liga as Espanyol welcome Mallorca. This has come up in the last six meetings of the sides and pays 21-20 at William Hill.

PSV are no bigger than 2-13 at BetVictor to beat Zwolle so look instead at Sporting who are
9-20 at BetVictor at home to Beira-Mar. Sporting have won two in a row since appointing Jesualdo Ferreira and should pick up the points.

The Lisbon club's top scorer Ricky van Wolfswinkel is 3-1 at boylesports.

Recommendations

Wood to score
(7-2, various)

Lyon
(11-10,Boylesports)

Hannover draw no bet
(11-4, Coral)

Double Up

Lyon/Sporting/PSV

Pays £15.01 to a £10 stake at BetVictor

JB what did the handicap treble pay??

  7. Craig alves 11 years ago

Had straight win treble but was looking at the -1

  8. JB 11 years ago

@Craig 20.8/1 had £10 on it, sweating on Atletico the longer it stayed 2-0 felt Betis could sneak one but luckily not.

  14. Don't be angry at Chris Guy 11 years ago

Think I’ll for for Chris Wood first

  15. Arnie 11 years ago

I think I will put a small bet on Neil Hs longshot, it looks plausible.

My selections for tomite was going to be a treble (Leicester, Schalke and Espanyol) but am feeling lucky tonite and also going for a sixfold

    Espanyol
    Schalke
    Leicester
    Galatasary
    Caen
    Lyon

Good luck to those that follow

  16. BIG JOCK 11 years ago

Ill go against SMILESEYS favourite tip on IVORY COAST, THEY OFF NO VALUE AT ALL,my tip is GHANA AT 5/1
The reason I like Ghana over the much fancied Ivory Coast is simple – Ivory Coast have failed to deliver in this tournament time and time again. A squad which has boasted the incredible talents of the Toure brothers, Didier Drogba and Kader Keita should not have such an empty silverware cabinet. This golden generation have one last chance to lift the cup this year and I just cannot trust them at 7/4 A TERRIBLE PRICE IN A TOURNAMENT THAT VERY RARELY PRODUCES THE FAVOURITE AS WINNER!! – they have proved incapable of fulfilling their potential too many times before.
An honest assessment of what i see being a hard tournament to call, so look for value away from a sort priced favourite that as done nothing to justify those odds.

    Liecester over 2.5 8/11
    espanyol over 2.5 5/4
    shalke over 3 13/8
    lyon -1 10/11
    £10 4 fold pays £194.73
    hoping for plenty goals tonight.

  18. Don't be angry at Chris Guy 11 years ago

Chris Wood is out to 4/1 for first goal with Betfred although still 7/2 for last goal.

Not much betting from me tonight. £60 on Chris Wood First Goal @ 4/1 to get £300 back. That will be a nice pot for tomorrow.

  19. tony 11 years ago

    Lyon
    Caen
    Psv
    Espanyol

Hi to all. I’m new posting but not new reading your comments… yesterday was a very good choice. All games were correct.
Today I decided to choose 6 games but placed a secure bet 3/6 system
    Sporting to win
    Lyon to win
    Schalke to win
    Galatasaray to win
    Le Havre vs Lens BTTS
    Espanyol vs Mallorca BTTS
    £20.00 returns £91.00
What do you think? Will I be lucky enough?

  21. John Connor 11 years ago

    1 bet tonight, £25 at 1/1 on Lyon(-1).

Nice bit of info that Evian have lost five players to the African Nations.

  22. Don't be angry at Chris Guy 11 years ago

Just stuck £50 on Wolfswinkel first goal. Are you backing him Paul?

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Chris, Yeah I’m on Wolfswinkel and Wood.

  23. Tommo 11 years ago

Luis Suarez to put the diving comment saga behind him temporarily and continue his great record against Norwich City, two or more 3/1 and a hat trick 16/1 both with BetVictor. The hat trick price will fall no doubt…

  24. Peter Fiddle 11 years ago

    Schalke v Hannover
Yes -Both teams to Score? 1.65
    Espanyol v Mallorca
Yes -Both teams to Score? 1.9
    Lyon v Evian TG
    Lyon -Match Odds 1.4
    Trebles (1) £40.00

Trying to be conservative and get some chips for tomorrows games. What do you think …

  25. Danny 11 years ago

am not too clever on the horses theres a reason ive only had money on them when ive been steeming on grand national day wan eye shut here dawl whos the faviourite aye good 2 seconds till a get all the coins out ma pocket went through a spell doing trifectas n quinellas on the dogs but wasnt winning enough too keep up interest also please change your name back Chris your current one is bordering on the ridiculous nobody is angry at Chris Guy

  26. Guido 11 years ago

Not fancying much…gone for wee doubles n treble for interest on Hannover 4/1 Beira Mara 13/2 n Middlesbrough 17/4

  27. Don't be angry at Chris Guy 11 years ago

Suarez as short as 6/1 for hat trick with Skybet and bet365 so 16/1 is a good price

  28. Don't be angry at Chris Guy 11 years ago

Delayed kick off with Leicester game

  29. Don't be angry at Chris Guy 11 years ago

Very quiet on here tonight Paul. Charlie Mulgrew best price of 12/1 for first goal tomorrow which is quite poor but Mulgrew anytime @ 5/1 with hills must be worth a punt. He is due a goal.

  30. John 11 years ago

It’s nearly 2Omins gone on live scores and the game hasn’t even kicked off yet, very strange…lol

  31. Don't be angry at Chris Guy 11 years ago

    Where’s the goals zzzzzzz

  32. Craig Mc 11 years ago

That performance right there is why Lyon won’t win the league this year.

  33. Guido 11 years ago

Hanover score 4 away from home…..and lose!! FFS :-(

  34. Willie McGuire 11 years ago

Lyon at 4/11 draw again to a team nearer the bottom of the league. Didnt touch them tonight as still hurting from doing me for plenty when 4/11 at home to bottom of the league a few weeks back.

Something seriously amiss at these results. match fixing anyone!!!

  35. John 11 years ago

Just seen Holtby got a goal and credited with 2 assists, hope he will do well at Spurs next season, we could do with another Ginola too :-)

  36. Don't be angry at Chris Guy 11 years ago

Not tonight I’m afraid, another waste of £110

  37. John 11 years ago

Chris wouldn’t you be better doing anytime scorers? The odds are not as good but at least your bet goes to the end of the game

  38. Peter Fiddle 11 years ago

Lyon are such dog shit im convinced Italian and now french football is fixed !

  39. Mike 11 years ago

    Poor show from wood tonight

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Mike, Wood hit the wood a few times at 0-0 so unlucky.

  40. Don't be angry at Chris Guy 11 years ago

Paul Charlie Mulgrew worth a punt tomorrow?

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Chris, not sure. First game back I’d be a bit cautious. Maybe Hooper for first as he has a great record against Hearts who by the way will give a debut to Danny Wilson.

  41. John Connor 11 years ago

Good night for the bookies, as both PSV and Lyon fail to win.
