AFTER three days without a Super Single it's back. The top tips will be up later but I'm posting my thoughts on the Super Single because it's an early kick-off (12.15pm).
As hinted at earlier in the week I'm going with Leicester at Leeds. Elland Road boss Brian McDermott looked a picture of misery last weekend as his side slumped 6-0 at Sheffield Wednesday.
And much of the damage was self-imposed by former Hearts defender Marius Zaliukas who had a nightmare after his side were reduced to 10 men.
The Lithuanian made a series of schoolboy errors and after watching the highlights I immediately checked to see who was next up for the Elland Road strugglers.
When I saw it was Championship leaders Leicester I quickly marked them down as a Super Single contender – and nothing can out me off the Foxes.
Leeds have now lost four in a row – including an FA Cup exit at Rochdale – and are without a win in six.
McDermott's under severe pressure and a lack of bodies means Zaliukas, who to be fair to him may have just had a bad 90 minutes, is likely to keep his place.
Leicester blew Derby away last Friday night and have won five in a row in the league. The Foxes are unbeaten in three trips to Leeds and I'm on them at 21-20 with Ladbrokes and bet365.
4pt Super Single
Leicester (12.15pm)
(21-20, Ladbrokes)
What’s the points rating for the super single Mr F? Excuse me if I have missed it, cheers
JK, sorry it’s 4pts – I pretty much always forget.
Excuse the newbie question but what’s a 4 point super single
Paul j, a 4pt Super Single is a very confident pick. Max pts 5, minimum 1 so anyone doing points system would have put four times their unit stake on Leicester.
23/20 at b365 currently
hi sorry I know this is a footy thread, just that its only loading up so many racing comment threads on my laptiop and ipad
if anyone knows what john b Saturday racing tips are please can you post here much appreciated
sorry footy fans
b, new racing thread will be up soon.
Surprised the price has held on Leicester, in-fact it has drifted slightly on B365 21/20 to 23/20, i seem to remember Leicester were flying last season and then the wheels came off, it was as if they didn’t want promoted last year, i think this is their year to go up…
11/10 now on Bet365. Looks like the bookies have just seen your tip lol!
Not a huge fan of the English lower leagues but this looks like a very good tip.
As a Leicester fan it’s great to see us doing so well, but I will warn you. After years of watching us mess it up and this being the Championship, I wouldn’t bank on us winning tomorrow. On paper we should walk over them, but Leicester don’t like to do things easy…
My bets for tomorrow
Over 2.5 goals – 4/5
Lloyd Dyer to score – 9/2
After watching Dyer all season and Leeds last weekend, I expect Dyer to tear Leeds a new one down the left hand side.
The penguin has been brave (or foolish!) £100 on the SS – that takes your favourite Penguin to a balance of £0
Will skybet recoup all their money back and take the penguin away for sometime?
Hopefully not!
#prayforpenguin haha!
Penguin Ive gone higher, game over by half time I think. half a grand on it. Leicester super fan and we keep winning this season. The price is too high so lets make some money
King – I hope you’re right! :c) – £500 wow! I thought I was brave at £100!
Good choice Mr F. I’ve already lumped on this. Put a tenner on it @ 11/10
It’s all down to the first goal. Leeds score, crowd with them. Leicester score, crowd against. I will be on it but I think a draw has a strong chance. Good luck all!
Wyorkie11, it’s all about opinions and if you think it will be a draw back the draw.
Toulouse -21 evens in rugby closes thing to a CERT you’ll see all wend . Sorry footie fans. Might add to somebodies accums
I like the look of the super single.
One bet which has taken my fancy this weekend is Villa away to Liverpool. 9/1 DNB will Bill Hills is great value in my opinion.
They have won 4, drawn 3 and lost 3 away from home this season. Lambert sets his teams up well away from home and they counterattack well. These are the type of games Liverpool have tripped up in the past (albeit not so much this season).
I think the value is there and as a result I will be having a sly tenner on villa DNB.
David N, Sturridge and Suarez reunited – I can’t see anything but a big Liverpool win. You wouldn’t tempt me with 20-1 Villa.
Not sure on this one. When I saw this on the coupon some warning bells started. Leeds were beaten by an inform Sheffield in a local derby. This division is all over the place and I’d suggest that Leeds will not perform as badly this weekend. Chances are sooner rather than later they will gain some form again (even against a very much inform Leicester. MIDDLESBOROUGH would be my choice in this division this weekend.

I’ve made some good money this week and most of the 500 is profit! Think we are safe on this SS.
Pat L the mighty Leicester are not lower league!
King, didn’t mean any disrespect; I actually live in Leicester :D I just describe teams outside of the top flight as ‘lower league’ out of force of habit.
NO completely understand your logic but over the last few weeks I’ve had my fingers burnt on more than one occasion with this division. (Division 2 is not much better, Hyde!). Will still probably look Leicester for the super single as to be honest so far, still on the right side of where I want to be.
tentdad, Hyde are a non-league side. There are no away bankers in the Championship – it’s just a tip and should be taken that way.
Tentdad I think you should do some research before committing to the SS
Nancy let me down bigtime today,
Leicester will get me back on track I hope.
Hibernians, Aberdeen, Middlesbrough and Birmingham 4 fold for me. £5 pays £55 with mcbookie. Good luck if you follow.
Leicester -1.0 on Asian handicap is drifting and is now 2/1
i went to the game last week, leeds were truly shocking, cant remember seeing a team so devoid of ideas and passion for a long while
Žaliūkas started off really confidently, head up with the ball, driving out of defence a la alan hansen, but he suffered some embarrassing mistakes after that, he and leeds will not play that badly again this season, so that stops me recommending the away win
wednesday, i thought, looked no great shakes themselves, but simply had more desire and capitalised on truly shocking defending from the whole leeds team. mcdermott tried to change formation at half time, but smiths harsh red for clattering into the monster shape of reda johnson who went down like he’d been shot, poor behaviour in my book
so i wont be backing wednesday today for sure, and i really think leeds will buck themselves up for another game in front of the sky tv cameras
saying that, leicester look superb and they have become a sort of bogey side for leeds
a swerve for me!
Leicester -1 @ 11/4 mcbookie super single
S. Taylor to score @ 10/1.
Always a threat when he comes up forward. Newcastle lacks creativity imo, really don’t understand why Ben Arfa doesn’t play. I think a free kick or corner will do the trick.
Thoughts on this acca Leicester, Wigan, orient, Blackpool and Newcastle.. 5 aways who on their day should win comfortably getting around 55/1
Verona to score 2+ 3/1
Port Vale to beat Oldham
8/5 @ William Hill
I wasnt able to get Leicester @ 21/20. Hopefully they’ll still win. Need to start this weekend with a win. =)
looking4wisdom, game about to start so I’m off. Hopefully Leicester will win but remember they’re priced over evens. This is not a Man City v Cardiff type of 1-7 pick.
I know Mr F. 0-0 at halftime. I dont wanna get Nancy-ed like yesterday.
Mr F – as I’ve got 100 quid on this if Leicester score – cover with Leeds dbl chance, right?
Leicester game over 0.5 goals 2/1 ???
MrF-that`ll do nicely!Cheers.
Lol
Thanks Mr F, great ss, the bread & butter bet proves fruitful, cheers.
Nice work mr fix f, started the day off nicely
Nick, cheers. Just having a laugh at some of the earlier comments. I don’t know why people write off teams just because they haven’t scored or have been second best. All that counts is the final score so for someone to describe Leicester as a “terrible” tip is stupid. To save his embarrassment I’ve deleted the comment. And as I pointed out earlier if Leicester were a banker they’d have been 1-7 or something like that. No even-money shot is ever guaranteed.
