ANDY MURRAY has been eased out to 10-1 from 8-1 with Unibet to win the Australian Open following a tough draw for the British No.1.
The bookie is also betting on how far Muzza will go with a quarter-final elimination considered the most likely at 11-4 where he could meet Roger Federer. A semi final departure, where Rafa Nadal lies in wait, is 7-1 while a fourth runner-up spot in six years at the tournament for Murray is 6-1.
The betting is dominated by Novak Djokovic who is just 22-23 to defend his title. With nearly half of all bets on the men’s singles going on the world number one Unibet are also betting on the Serbian versus the field, offering 22-23 on Djokovic and 9-11 for anybody else.
Of the big four Federer is 11-2 and Nadal 7-1 with Unibet offering to refund losing bets if Federer goes on to lift his 18th Grand Slam title in Melbourne.
In the Ladies tournament Serena Williams is 9-4 to win her 19th Grand Slam followed by Maria Sharapova at 4-1. Unibet will also be refunding losing bets if Sharapova wins the tournament. Brit Heather Watson, who has made it to the final of her current tournament in Hobart is a best price 800-1 shout with Unibet.
In the Masters snooker it's semi-final day with Neil Robertson the 13-8 underdog at Stan James against Ronnie O'Sullivan (8-15, Sportingbet) and Shaun Murphy 8-11 with William Hill in his clash with 11-8 shot Mark Allen.
There's also plenty sporting highlights including top-class cricket and golf on a busy Saturday so post your sporting tips and chat here.
Wawrinka @ 16/1
I wasn’t planning on doing this before today, but Stan has to be backed just on the strength (or rather, weakness) of his draw. The defending champ has a ludicrously smooth route to the quarter finals, and given how well he has matched up against Novak in recent times Id much rather take a chance on Stan being the Man again than back Djokovic at a fraction above evens. Wawrinka has blown very hot and cold since winning his maiden slam last January, but he can beat the best in the world on his day and he should have a lot left in the tank come the second week if all goes to plan.
Tomic @ 120/1
If Tomic starts playing to his potential, and there have been signs so far this year he is heading in that direction, then this is a very manageable draw for him….at least to a point. He always plays his best stuff down under, and with a route to the semi finals that could read: Kamke, Kohlschrebier, Gulbis (may well not make it this far) Berdych, Nadal (question marks) you have to think there’s some value here. If he DOES make it this far, he would then most likely have to beat Federer followed by Djokovic to actually lift the title. But I’m going to worrying about crossing that bridge when he comes to it!
Monfils @ 360/1
You just never know! I was tempted to just leave my write up for Gael there, because what can you really say, but I suppose I’ll give it a go!
IF he’s fit, and IF he’s motivated, Monfils could make a mockery of these odds. The man who had two match points to take him to the U.S open semi finals has three winnable matches before he runs into Raonic (which is also winnable if he’s hit form) against Pouille, Delpo/Janowicz and Lopez/Mannarino. It gets harder from there on out but it always does. Monfils will probably bow out very early on, but I’m always prepared to gamble a few quid on world class talent coming good.
(I’ve also already tipped and backed Nishikori @ 16/1, and as the draw wasn’t especially kind I won’t bother with another write up here. Needless to say I think he can win it!)
Womens Australian Open Outright:
Maria Sharapova @ 5/1
This is a little on the short side for a grand slam winner who isn’t Serena in the women’s game, but draw and form both point to Maria. 4 matches, 4 wins and a title in 2015, and a draw that shouldn’t see her tested till she plays, possibly Bouchard, in the quarter finals. I’m not even sure Bouchard will make it that far and I’m not sure she’ll actually pose a serious threat to Sharapova if she does. The sensible pick (watch her tumble in round 1 now I’ve said that!)
Venus Williams @ 65/1
Venus goes one better. FIVE wins on the spin and a title so far in 2015. She isn’t getting any younger, but her win over Wozniaki in last week’s final showed she can still do battle with the best and come out on top. Her power game can trouble anyone and her draw is pretty good. Radwanska in the 4th round could prove to be the stumbling block, but that’s certainly a winnable matchup if she brings her best tennis to the table. It would be Kvitiva after that, and when these two met in an epic match at Wimbledon last year it could easily have been Venus walking off court the winner, with just the odd point here or there deciding it (and who knows, it could’ve been Venus lifting the trophy had they gone the other way!) It definitely requires a fairly sizeable leap of faith to believe Venus will produce the goods for an entire fortnight at this stage in her career, but leaps of faith are what gambling’s all about aren’t they?!
Ana ivanovic @ 22/1
The first few rounds should be routine for Ana Ivanovic, but it does get tricky after that. Pliskova in the 4th round I would expect her to win, but would by no means be a foregone conclusion. Then Halep, Sharapova and Serena stand in her way if it all goes to seeding (does it ever?!) and that is not easy at all. Still, it may not go to seeding, and since an Ivanovic v Halep match is the likely quarter final from this section, which would be anyone’s game, I’d rather take a punt on Ana @ 22/1 than on Simona @ 10/1. Also, how could anyone not want to get behind her in that short little black dress she wears on court these days?!
(I’ve also already ‘tipped’ Bacsinszky @ 500/1 for anyone who missed it! They’ll have to start calling this site Mr Ad’s Tips if it actually happens
Brian- looks a solid pick by your mate. I’m gna put a little on it. Good luck
**Posted Yesterday**
**LOST** SS/NAP: Warriors -1.5 @ $1.92 (5 pts)
**WON** EARLY DOUBLE: Pistons -1.5, Bulls -5.0 @ $3.69 (2.5 pts)
**LOST** LATE DOUBLE: Suns -13.5, Clippers -8.0 @ $3.69 (2.5 pts)
***Not a great night in the end after the fixtures looked very promising, but my early Double landed to at least mean it was ‘break even’ for the day.
The SS never really got going as it turned out Warriors had a couple of players out that I wasnt aware of before placing my bet.
As for the late Double, Phoenix Suns were on track leading by 16 points with 1 minute to go, but a later 3 pointer & 2 pointer from Timberwolves meant they finished 3 points shy of the handicap downing the double with the 1st leg.
Terrible game by gs warriors done me out of a nice 4 timer
NFL bets for the AFC and NFC Championship games. The tickets to the Superbowl. Will post reasoning for bets over the weekend but just getting the picks up early in case any spreads/totals change.
Main Bet
Seattle Seahawks -1
New England Patriots -2
@ 0.95/1 @ WillHill
Both of these teams have already played this year, both the Seahawks and Patriots won by 20 and 22 points respectively. Both teams picked are at home. If you took the Seahawks spread that I’ve picked, they would have won 8/9 home games this season, only losing to Dallas. New England would be 7-2 at home with the -2. Both big games and slightly worried about Lucks dominance at the Mile High, but I would never back against Brady and Belichick in Foxborough.
Main Prop
Russel Wilson (Seattle Seahawks) over 218.5 passing yards @ 5/6 @ PP (Subject to change due to total adjustments/prices at other bookies) **UPDATE** Still the lowest total with as many as 7 bookies. Highest 230.5 @ Ladbrokes. I honestly think Wilson will throw close to 300. He’s thrown over this total in 5 of his last 6 games, with 66.9% accuracy, averaging 10.89 yards each pass over his last three games. Lynch was quiet last week so sods law he’ll run all over Green Bay this week but they are underestimating Wilson and flattering the Packers secondary if I’m perfectly honest.
Smaller Prop Bets (25% Stake)
Luke Willson (Seattle Seahawks) Anytime TD @ 5/2
Luke Willson (Seattle Seahawks) over 32.5 receiving yards @ 5/6 @ PP (Also subject to change) **UPDATE** 365 have over 25.5 @ 4/6 which I have snapped up on the same stake as the Russel Wilson passing yards. The 2nd season Tight End has only really come into the team in the last three games. He has gone over this total in his last 3, averaging a massive 79 yards (he had a 139 yard and 2 TD game vs Arizona, and also scored last week against the Panthers). Jason Witten, the 32 year old Dallas Cowboys Tight End had 6 receptions for 79 yards in Green Bay last week with a 19 yard reception.
Daniel Herron (Indianapolis Colts) Anytime TD @ 11/8 @ WillHill
Daniel Herron (Indianapolis Colts) over 64.5 rushing yards @ 5/6 @ PP (Also subject to change) **UPDATE** 365 have over 57.5 @ 4/5. Probably the least confident of the props but Herron is the go to guy on the ground and has averaged 59.5 yards on the ground in the Colts two playoff games. The Ravens back Justin Forsett saw big gains against New England with 129 yards on the ground last week. Again I feel the bookies are being too generous to the Pats D.
Deontay wilder looks a sure thing 1/2 but can’t see anything other than a ok for him
@chris he most definitely is not a ‘sure thing’.
really annoyed this morning after backing gsw , i know a few were out but i think they`d have lost with them in.
The obvious play was over but the obvious single was the hawks , mentioned and agreed by attila.
so down to 7 from 9.
sorry guys !!
tonight im taking the on fire hawks , 5 poits win
Huggy – that’s my only play today as well. HAWKS -3.0. Line opened at Hawks +2.0 but straight away big money went on them.
I alai like Hornets -1.5 at home to Pacers, but hornets might have a couple of important players out so need team news first.
The other games all could go either way IMO.
Hawks to win by 7 points. Single on -3.0 only tonight!
Neil Robertson 5/2 to win masters just taken opening frame in semis
Huggy if they were that obvious you’d have picked em mate. Not to worry and we move on.
v true , good day on the footy for a change , hopefully it`ll spill on to the bb later.
pelicans really screwed your double , 2 changes and thats the total gone , this is why these guys earn stupid money.
gonna hope the hawks get me back on the money
Grizzlies -4.5
clippers -4.5
double 5/2
any thoughts on these games huggy?
mate these games are difficult to call , doubts about conley for grizzlies , he misses the game then a big chance.
clippers need to bounce back and probably will.
GL
Australian open round 1:
Krunic d Davis @ 27/20.
Australian open round 1 :
Lorenzi d Dolgopolov @ 21/10
A flurry of money and a crash in odds leads me to believe Dolgopolov is going to flop in this one. I’ve seen Lorenzi 3-0 tipped and the price change across the board is startling. Going to follow the money and hope Dolgopolov does indeed have one of those days.
For anyone wanting a bit of extra cover on their tennis bets PP are offering money back as a free bet if your player wins the first set but goes on to lose the match. Certainly worth considering,
My last non Australian open tip till The Slam has been and gone. Let’s see it in with a winner!
Garanganga d Jung (20:30 ITF4 USA semis) 1/1.
Shocking day on the footy, not 1 bet won…bloody Derby screwed a lot of coupons!
Hoping Hawks can get my losses back. Line is out -4.0 now…should have placed my bet earlier….always the way
Does ANYBODY have info on HORNETS team news, starters, outs, etc? They’ve gone from -1.5 to +1.5
Just found an update – Walker, Jefferson & Pargo all OUT for Hornets which means I’ll stay away. They’ve won 5 from 6 with Walker and without him and without the 2nd & 3rd string point guards i can see an angry Pacers team winning after last nights loss.
Walker, Jefferson & Pargo all OUT for Hornets – Pacers to win
just some input from my side again, after being away for a few days.
Will go with the hawks until the Streak ends.
They have brought me a lot of money already
Hawks -2.5
I know the wizzards are the much better team but there are some nice stats telling otherwise tonight.
Will try
Brooklyn +4.5
also like
Wolves +11.5
& Rockets -2.5 (tough call though)

My last pre-Ausie open bet lands….no idea what the final score was but my balance has had a little boost so I don’t really care! It’s not been all smooth sailing so far this season, but It was never going to be and I said as much all the way along. It’s been a month that’s shown profit, albeit small profit, but hopefully the floodgates open tomorrow. Bring on The Slam!
Ad, first two sets for that match ended in tie break though don’t know about third set.
Ps. My nhl overs treble looking goood
Well the worst it can have ended is a 7-6 win in the third and I’ll take that any day mate! Cheers for info.
Good luck on the overs.
P.s.Bacsinszky is now available @ 1,000/1 on betfair exchange. Worth £2 of anyones money just for the thrill of it if nothing else!
P.p.s. I will not be offering refunds on £2 stakes lost in this way.
Need just one more goal in Buffalo game for the over treble to come in, 15 min left in game… Fingers crossed
Predators v Red Wings o5.5
Flyers v Sabres o5.5
Islanders v Canadiens o5.5
137.5£ returns 1250£
### WINNER ###
Furthermore I don’t usually post but I’ve been here for years. I was on your overs treble and have been on plenty other winners you’ve unearthed…bloody good work sir, that was an excellent treble that I enjoyed very much :)
Fair play furthermore serious stuff.
The hornets fairly pulled that outa the fire pacers led all the way to the final few mins. Hornets got it to OT and win handy should have covered in running
Let’s keep on going, double
Ducks v Kings o5.5
LA Clippers -9.5
I tipped Hawks to win by 7, they won by 8! $200 profit as I lumped on the single -3.5 :-D
@Furthermore & @Huggy – how did yas have a good day on the footy?! I thought everyone was on Derby!! They screwed up all my Acca’s…but at least I got it back on Hawks plus double.
Nice one on the Hawks Huggy!
cheers jordan , was u on ?
Great single Huggy and a nice double with the overs.
Attila, Derby let down two of my accas, I had 10 accas each 5 quid. To return starting from 400£ to 10k. And two came in returning 1000+ and likes like Birmingham and Bradford let down other accas.
Hey Ad I’m on the exchange and I can’t see a market for the Oz open.
Furthermore, great stuff mate, that’s awesome winnings. Been a while since I got a big win on the footy. Sis you post your tips? Any chance you wanna share your Acca’s with me next Saturday ;-) ??
Attila, yeah sure. Though I did not have a winner for like 6/7 weeks till now. Just remind me when it comes closer haha
Anyone knows what’s going on with Kings v Ducks game? Says delayed due to ceremony but viasat tv doesn’t show it.
Huggybear, great tip with hawks bud, thats 8 from 10 now m8, Superb!!
