THE new football chat thread has proved popular so we'll continue with it for now – and remember the top tips post is where you should put all predictions and betting chat.
This is the place for general debate on anything to do with football with one of the hot topics at the moment surrounding the future of Lionel Messi. Is there any chance we'll see the Argentime genius in the Premier League?
Bun fights between supporters are for fans' forums – so keep them for those sites. Talk to each other but don't be abusive, bigoted or racist.
I said we'd give away three £10 free bets at bet365 to kick off this thread. The first two went to bigmick and Wolerine and the third one is for nathan ufton.
The Derby fan will have earned it big style with his posts on his team if they beat Nottingham Forest by a few goals on Saturday. Email me at mrfixit@dailyrecord.co.uk for details on how to claim your prize.
Oh dear
Not sure Messi wwould fit into the Premiership, English football is a different breed plus some plaayers might want there pounds worth of flesh, personally i dont believe he’d prove tto be a genius of football like he has done at Barca
Good chouce Mr F,Nathans quote about the early kick off clashing with big lad Reids dinnertime was class.
Anyone interested hearts over 1.5 tg is 2/1 @ betfair
Anyone got any thoughts on china v Uzbekistan

I think liverpool will splash out and buy carvani from psg things in tormoil at psg with carvani/psg
Why are my posts not being registered anyone else having problems
Pg tips, your post asking why your posts haven’t appeared has appeared. Strange.
As a Villa supporter, Liverpool would be wise to stump up the 3 million or so required to get Delph now. He’s just the sort of dynamic, warlord midfielder they need! We will miss him but it’s good to see that we bought a decent looking AM from Valencia. I won’t hold my breath but we may actually now, and this is probably unrealistic, score an actual goal. Crazy talk.
That’s the £50 vouchers through this morning Paul cheers, 10 £5 ones instead of the 5 £10 vouchers a few years ago. Gonna stick a double on tonight Southampton/Spurs and looking at a £30 treble of Peterhead, Man utd and Aberdeen at the wknd. Will pick up coupons the day and have another look but Birmingham look a great bet at 9/5 at Leeds
Alves, good stuff – hope you make them work.
Mr f – who won the super single competition at the weekend please? Ta
Simon, I don’t know – I don’t pick them. I assume they’ll be put on the site soon.
Guys apologies if this is just me but I can’t seem to see the top tips page on the site today. I’m using my phone as I do everyday. Nearly sure I seen it last night.
looking at Friday , think the draw h/t hearts f/t could be worth a bet 6/1 .
Has the top tips thread been removed just now, can’t see it?
Jamie, it’s back up – don’t know what happened there.
Jamie … i cant see it either.
Barney, it’s back up – I’ve contacted admin because comments have been lost. Will see if they can be restored.
notts forests financial fairplay regulations including this transfer window will affect all their dealing for 3 transfer windows, I’m guessing they can forget about being taken as a potential promotion candidate for next year, unless it involves getting back into the championship. theyre 6 points from being in a relegation fight, that should be 3 by Saturday. and theyre 25/1 to get relegated with bet365. overpriced?
Cheers just a simple £5 double on Southampton and Spurs tonight for 13+ and the good thing is there’s no cash out :)
Watching Ipswich v soton game Ipswich number 17 is called bru surely his first name isn’t irn ! And I got excited when I saw ambrose on Ipswich team but sadly it was Darren and not efe!!!
mystic greg, piece in Racing Post today about Ipswich midfielders Hyam and Bru!
Millwall away to Bradford and losing 3 nil, anyone any ideas what sort of side they’ve put out? if its their best team, I’d say theyre screwed for their next game.
Bet365 just took an age to offer a cashout on an in-play, I bet against benfica’s opponents not to keep a clean sheet and by some stupid reason, they made me wait till fulltime before I got my bet settled.
So I had a play.
I chose the argentina u20 game, 1st goal before 70th minute – landed, took the same bet again with slightly better odds, landed, then the 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th, its halftime now and if the 7th lands in the first 25 mins of halftime, I shall walk away and won’t push my luck anymore today. I guess it was just one of those games that the goals are flowing, I mean argentina are carving equador apart, the score is 5-1.
maybe one or two are on it already.
How come on certain betting sites whatever you bet it never wins?? I can’t buy a win on some betting sites
Has everyone gone to bed, or has Armageddon occured.
No posts anywhere for nearly 90 minutes.
having seen the FA cup results come in and picking up a bit of news here and there, Ipswich play millwall away, and having seen most of the Ipswich game, I don’t think they were that focused on their FA cup tie, they also changed out half their team. Apparently a virus has hit the Ipswich team, having said that, they’re playing a millwall side that’s stareing at the trapdoor who just got thumped 4 nil by Bradford. Not sure what team Millwall put out yesterday, any fans on here know if they put out a weakened team?
nathan, Millwall made changes but not drastic ones from what I read – they wanted the Chelsea game after all.
Derby have just signed Stephen Warnock from Leeds.
Mr F and gents I have been give a free £5 bet token with coral I Just wanted your thoughts on whether just to treat it as a bet I would normally do each day around evens or should I just go with a higher priced selection on the golf for example or accy on a few teams over the weekend which I don’t really do now to be honest.
Wato, it’s up to you – remember you don’t usually get the stake back. If it was me I’d take a long-shot golfer each way.
Anyone heard anything about the Ivory Coast line up today, seen the Sweden team and thinking of pulling the trigger on the Ivorians
Mental mickey, not seen anything yet and just heading to the office.
Nathan,id love to know how much hes on a week,he was one of our big earners, along with Hunt whos also gone.To be fair, hes played ok on occasions, these last few weeks, but dont they all when their contracts are coming to an end.Thought i was reading about a different player in the Telegraph, after seeing your gaffers statement.MOT
Mr F cheers I fancied Chris Kirk to do well this week in the Sony Open after his brilliant final round last week. At odds of 20/1 not the best odds for a small ew bet like that so I just took him to win
I love this site and the punters/tipsters on it. Now do I assume that the majority of people on here are from Scotland but a fair few of us scattered about the rest of the Uk and Ireland?
Just for a bit of interest I would like to share my joint football club alliance.
I am living in Essex, a Dagenham & Redbridge Season Ticket holder as well as an Albion Rovers Season Ticket holder. The Albion Rovers ticket came about as preseason Albion had a scheme of Pay What you Want for a Season Ticket which I found out went Worldwide.
September 2014 I made my first ever visit to Scotland, I arrived on a Saturday just in time to attend Inverness v St Johnstone, Tuesday we went to Ross County v Hibernian Cup game and on the following Saturday we left to visit family in Hyde, Lancs stopping off to watch Albion v East Stirling. We had a great time during our visit, bought shirts at each club and had a great week meeting and drinking with many new people we met as well as doing the usual tourist spots the visiting English tend to do. Haggis Pie as served at Ross County should be on all football ground menus, level with the Morecambe and Shrewsbury pies so far.
Whilst at Dingwall we celebrated visiting our 100th Football Club and the staff at Ross County did everything possible to celebrate our milestone day.
We are hoping to do a similar away days Scotland trip next Season and are hoping that the fixtures fall kindly once again for us.
We have a few daggers fans that visit Europe yearly to add to their tally of clubs visited and we also have about a dozen Norwegian “Daggers” visit yearly and plan their visit around us and other South East based clubs.
I wonder if any of you guys on the forum have done something similar? Or any other football ground tales to tell?
Terry DRFC, next time you come up make sure you visit Clydebank – we’ll make you welcome.
Would love to Mr Fixit. We have to work out a fairly central place to stay 7 nights to visit two clubs including a midweek fixture and then another Saturday club to visit as a detour on the way home. We struck lucky last year.We used the holiday park at Nairn which we didn’t book until the fixtures were out. Precision planning with an element of luck on our side with the Tuesday cup game. We got to Inverness half an hour before kick off having stayed in Carlisle the previous night to break our journey. 1500 miles by car in 7 days.
Liverpool have recalled Jordan Ibe from a season long loan from Derby with immediate affect. So now I’m thinking Darren Bent could end up with his first start.
