RESULTS were poor for punters on Saturday – and bookies kept counting the cash in the evening with Real Madrid's draw at Osasuna a sore one for anyone who got involved.
Hopefully things will get better – and certainly the matches at Arsenal and Man United should provide more entertainment than most of the games featured on Match of the Day.
My top treble was a disaster after the previous week's winning but on Sunday I'm trying to make amends. Start with Lazio at home to Atalanta in Serie A.
Second-placed Lazio have won three on the bounce and beaten Atalanta four out of five at home – all to nil – as well as beating them earlier in the season.
The Romans have dropped just two points at home in eight games while Atalanta have lost four in row on the road.
Staying in Italy and Napoli should be too strong at home to a Palermo side that's lost five of their last six. The Sicilians have hit just one goal and picked up one point on their last five visits to Naples and lost the home fixture 3-0 this season.
Napoli have of course a class act in Edinson Cavani and I'll be on him to score first at 9-4 with Betway.
Complete the treble with Barcelona who travel to Malaga. Unlike Real I can't see Barca letting the side down even though they face fellow Champions League last-16 qualifiers.
Malaga are enjoying a great season but don't like playing Barca and since being promoted have lost eight out of eight, including 4-1 three times in the last four meetings.
Barca continue to show sides no mercy and have netted 23 in their last six away games. Lionel Messi scores against everyone but particularly Malaga and has hat-tricks in his last two outings against them.
So take Barca at 2-5 and look at Messi at just 7-4 at Betway to score first.
The treble doesn't page a huge amount and anyone looking for a bigger could consider Atletico Madrid, with Falcao back, at home to Zaragoza and Real Sociedad at home to Deportivo.
For my Super Single I'm risking Benfica at home to Porto. Both sides are unbeaten this season but I'm banking on home advantage giving the Lisbon the side the edge. They are 27-20 at Betway.

Lumped on Man utd on Friday night and topped it up a bit yesterday. Was gonna put £40 on RVP-Man utd score-win dble but decided to top up Man utd bet a bit more. I just think 10/11 is massive. Man utd only dropped points at home was against spurs back in september, won other 9. Liverpool 7 places and 21 points behind them. I know in a match like this form can go for nowt but just think its huge value.
In other game its a toughie, Arsenal very patchy and city go on good runs but i’ve watched them struggle at times. Maybe one to watch for in play punts. Also been very few goals when these two meet at emirates in last few years.

I hear what you’re saying paul, it is seen as a derby match so form can go out window. But Liverpool are work in progress and rely too heavily on suarez. I think there is a gulf in class between them and if Man utd turn up and can keep suarez reasonably quite, they will be too strong. In these kind of games teams need to win the battle first and fergie will have them fired up. United have shown this season they have the heart to win games even when behind. Maybe tight but united for me.

Mitchell, obviously I like Man Utd and Roma and Coventry can win if Thursday’s game plus the loss of David McGoldrick hasn’t affected them too much. Juve are odds on but might have to settle for a draw. Man City I’ve tipped but I think a lot depends on the Man United result. If United win then City will have to go for a win too. William Hill enchanced the Manchester double from 7-2 to 6-1 for a spell this morning (max bet £10) and that suggests to me they’ve gone cold on City. I haven’t put anything on City yet but may consider the double chance depending on how United fare.
Think I’ll go with four draws for today covering trebles and up. Liverpool are due something at OT- I had Preston down to draw on the pools– Carlisle and Coventry look hard to split and who knows with the Arsenal match- maybe another 0-0.

My only let-down was that I backed RVP to score first with Betfred at 3/1, the shortest price in the book. Fred was offering the double delight/hat-trick heaven on the odds if he scored again and again, however, he only scored once but I can’t really complain about that.

Chris, that’s fair enough but as far as I was aware the bonus you earn and the winnings you accrue though cash credited are different. Betway or anyone shouldn’t be mixing up the two. You have to play through a bonus but at the same time should be able to withdraw “real” winnings. We’re trying to get to the bottom of it with Betway.

I know Paul but I don’t accept any bonuses. Free bets are ok but I’ve grown wise to bonuses offered by various bookies, particularly with online casino. They often tell you its 50 x your stake and deposit before you can withdraw any bonus winnings but what they do Paul is they use your bonus money first therefore since you have used the bonus you have agreed to bet 50 x your stake and bonus resulting in you not being able to withdraw your own money. I always refuse the bonus.
