SCOTTISH football continues its Friday night experiment with a game from the First Division that's tough to call.

Hamilton and Partick Thistle had contrasting results in the Scottish Cup last week but in the league it's the Jags who have looked better.

However, with Accies welcoming back keeper Tomas Cerny who has been a big miss and skipper Alex Neil they could have the edge.

They will, of course, miss experienced central defender Mark McLaughlin and striker Dougie Imrie is on the verge of a move back to the SPL with Dundee United.

It really is a tough call and best advice may to assume there won't be many goals. The two meetings between the sides this season have ended 1-1 and 1-0 Hamilton.

Three of Hamilton's last four have been under 1.5 goals and Thistle's last three have been under 1.5 goals.

Under 1.5 pays 9-4 at William Hill but you'd be safer with under 2.5 at 4-5 with Stan James. Paddy Power offer two or three goals at 1-1.

To win Accies are 6-4 (various) with Thistle 7-4 with the likes of Ladbrokes and Paddy Power. However, I'm sitting on the fence here and a draw returns 13-5 at bet365.

Recommendations

Under 2.5 goals

(4-5, Stan James)
