ANYONE know how tonight's Championship clash between Wolves and Blackburn will go? I've got admit I don't have a clue.

This assessment is nothing about form and all about the clubs' managerial manouvres.

You baulk at backing against a side with a new boss because invariably there is an immediate change in fortunes – so what do you do when both clubs have are in that situation?

Dean Saunders takes charge of Wolves for the first time while Michael Appleton is set to be named Blackburn boss.

Without Saunders on board this would have been an away win and Blackburn are a biggest
19-10 at BetVictor. They have won three out of three under caretaker Gary Bowyer who will again be in charge tonight.

But ex-Doncaster boss Saunders can't do anything but improve a side at rock bottom after defeat to non-league Luton in the FA Cup and without a victory since December 15 – ironically against Appleton's Blackpool.

Whether Saunders can work enough magic in such a short space of time is debatable so I can't back the home at 6-4 with the likes of BetVictor.

So for me draw is the best bet at 5-2 with BetVictor but as I said anything could happen here.

Safest punt could be both to score at 4-6 with Ladbrokes as Wolves are likely to press to impress their new gaffer while Rovers are the league's third highest scorers on the road with 21. But for better value look at over 2.5 goals at 5-6 with Ladbrokes.

Rovers also have Scotland striker Jordan Rhodes who will net if given a sniff. Rhodes has scored in two of Bowyer's games – as has Ruben Rochina – and he is 9-2 to break the deadlock and 7-5 (various) to net at anytime.

Rochina is bigger at 12-1 with boylesports and is 9-5 at Paddy Power to score. Kevin Doyle could be Wolves' biggest threat but has netted just five this season so I'd prefer to be on
13-goal Rhodes.

Recommendations

Rhodes to score
(7-5, various)

Over 2.5 goals
(5-6, Ladbrokes)

    Score draw 2-2

  2. AC 11 years ago

I’m going for a Blackburn win and either a 2-1 or 3-1 scoreline.

    Horse Treble

    12.40 (Sedge) – Counsel
13.20 (Hunt) – My Tent or Yours – Henderson horse i like
14.40 (Sedge) – Uimhir A Seacht – will be a hard horse to beat but the odds reflect that

    Singles

12.40 (Sedge) – Three Kingdoms – Even though I have Counsel in my treble I have to back Three Kingdoms at 2/1 to cover myself, this horse will handle the conditions today well and his trainer Ferguson has a 55% strike rate which has to be taken into consideration

2.20 (Hedge) – Asaid – Shows some value at 5/1, On paper the fav Brass Tax is the best who have tackled chasing, however Asaid was the best hurdler on show and can transfer ability. With the large weight allowance and trainer form (Ferguson again) it has a good shout and arguably better value than Brass Tax.

AC, overs is about the only thing I feel confident about at Molineux.

    • Milesey 11 years ago

I am on the Blackburn WIN

Mr Fixit, can you believe it, 89th Minute yesterdays game coventry v preston, a punter rings through, £50 on a coventry win @900…………. Unbelievable. Bet got in just before the market got suspended in the 90th Minute.

    • AC 11 years ago

      incredible

    • Milesey 11 years ago

I heard the conversation this morning for they all get recorded, and when the first goal went in he was still on the phone and went absolutely Mental, then the phone just went dead ! so i can only imagine what he was like when the 2nd goal went in. He didn’t trade the bet at 2-2 either !

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Mileses, why would someone do that? I know he won but why even think about betting it?

    • AC 11 years ago

Mr F … you definetly think about it! whenever a team goes behind late in the game you see the odds for them to win sky rocket … I for one always think worth a tenner but i never have the balls to do it … to think £50 is a bit strange thou i’ll agree with you there

    • Milesey 11 years ago

It always happens with Man Utd, if ever they are behind coming to the end of a game. Most recently against West Ham in the cup, people who had backed West Ham, were then laying them near the end of the match, or were trading out their bets on west Ham to win, when they were 2-1 up.

    • Milesey 11 years ago

£50 strange ?, that is small.

I’ve seen people empty their Betfair account and go on the lay coming to 10 minutes to go and the team 3-1 up.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Milesey, I’m not talking about the stake, it’s the bet I mean and as you say why not come back in when it went 2-2.

    • AC 11 years ago

I think that bet stake is strange … especially if like you said he is betting on the 89th minute for a team needing 2 goals to win … at 900/1 … no way would i stick £50 on it

    • AC 11 years ago

unless i have understood this wrong and he is Layin his bet then it makes sense.

Not if he is just sticking a bet on the game in the 89th minute.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

AC, it makes sense but surely he never thought it would come in and when it did go 2-2 why not come back. Or maybe he passed out.

    • Milesey 11 years ago

West Ham V Man Utd Fa Cup…… I know of several bets that went through 1k, 3k, On Man Utd win in the 87th, 88th Minute when 2-1 down to West Ham, you don’t hear about them for they don’t come in, but people out there do this and on a permanent basis too.

    • Milesey 11 years ago

The coventry game last night, the bloke rang through and BACKED coventry to win @900….. £50 @900, then that was it, let the bet run, didn’t trade it after the goal… left it, you could hear him on the phone shouting when the 1st goal went in, then went completely dead, maybe he passed out hahaha

    • AC 11 years ago

i’m not saying it doesnt happen, i’m just saying for me personally it’s a lot of money to bet on the 89th minute for a team to score 2 goals having being behind, my brain wouldn’t let me but thats probably why i never hit the 45k jackpots!

haha what a feeling that would be thou

  3. madi 11 years ago

im on psg win, nantes or draw, dijon or draw, and over 1.5 goals in wolves game. can get it at evens. all very short priced which im looking for

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Madi, don’t know if I’ll get time to do French tips because I’m writing my Daily Record column now. But PSG are a standout at a shot price and of course Ibra always worth a first scorer bet. Another one that stands is under 2.5 goals at St Etienne v Toulouse because neither have been scoring in the league. In Spain I’d be tempted by Rayo Vallacano at Athletic Bilbao.

  4. Craig alves 11 years ago

Thats some win but he was maybe waitin on preston double chance for a bit of ££, or maybe just got too much money haha, 45k for £50 bet tho, wouldn’t see me for a dust haha be on the next available flight out of Edinburgh airport

  5. Craig alves 11 years ago

Wee £1 treble for just under £10 on monumental man, counsel and my tent or yours. Few favs coming in today already

    • AC 11 years ago

Yep counsel and my tent or yours already come in … i’m just waiting on Uimhir for some money back that i lost yesterday

  6. Craig alves 11 years ago

£1 in play on megastar at 6/1 :)

  7. Craig alves 11 years ago

A was waitin on man utd in v west ham and put £5 singles on man u double chance and over 3.5 gls. Man utd always score late goals whoever they play tho but a bet there was thousands on city last game of season to win. Av only used betfair, betway and betdaq for new customer offers cos dont really know how to use it but if your waiting on 1 team on ur acca will betfair odds of laying the team be similar or better than the double chance???

  8. Milesey 11 years ago

    Manchester double sunday @4.50

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Milesey, I’m on that in the Record. Just written the piece.

  9. Craig alves 11 years ago

Paul whens the junior tips up?? Just had my dad on the phone sayin Culter are a great price to beat cumnock at 2/1 at hills, 21/10 at mcbookie and 10/11 +1.

  10. Eddie 11 years ago

This might be a Stupid question but
Do bookies monitor sites like this and does it have any affect on the prices?

    • Milesey 11 years ago

Prices only change as punters put their money on…… in betfairs case, prices change as people trade out bets, back / lay etc…. and therefore the market changes.

I don’t think they are going to change the prices just because Mr Fixit has tipped it.

    • Milesey 11 years ago

Let me change that statement. Based on what someone write on this site, or tips given by Mr Fixit the price will not change, but should lets say john come on this site and see a super single @9/2, and then goes and puts 200k on that, then of cause the price will change.

Take the racingpost for a big example, people read that, see a tip @9/1 and will back that all the way into a 1/2 Fav, on the basis of that horse being tipped up to win. so as the money goes on the price changes accordingly.

Another great example is backing a Fav and then you see it drift right out, this is mainly usually because people see value elsewhere, so therefore the money is going on other markets. Some people worry when they see this, but it’s a usual thing that happens and never anything to worry about, it’s just people see no value on a 1/2 Fav and therefore put their money elsewhere.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Milesey, there would have to be a lot of money on my selection to change the price but it does happen and I’ve been told so by bookies. The Record on a Saturday has around 700,000 readers plus those viewing online or by the ipad so if everyone lumps into the Super Single for example it can be cut. If I get my homes up bookies in Scotland can have a bad day even if those in England and Wales have a good one. Once there was a huge investigation by Hills into why all regions made money one Saturday expect Scotland. The answer was: Mr Fixit’s homes won.

    • Milesey 11 years ago

hahaha love it, get in Mr Fixit, Bankrupting the bookies of scotland.

  11. John 11 years ago

I’m thinking of changing my BTTS bets to bets where teams score 2 or more goals, any help or tips on that, or is it just random like both to score betting?

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

John, that’s much less random and of course harder to pick. You should be looking at teams who score plenty and who are favourites to win.

  12. Eddie 11 years ago

Try over 2.5 goals along with your btts
it needs to be 1-1 for btts
so you only need one more goal

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Eddie, I’ve recommended over 2.5 goals at Wolves.

  13. John 11 years ago

Never done that, might try a small stakes double tonight just for experimentation

  14. Anton 11 years ago

Come on Mr fix it more of the same this week

  15. Eddie 11 years ago

    Cheers for that milesey

  16. Striker 11 years ago

I always like to take Man Utd in-play at the 10 minute mark to score 1.5 team goals or more. It’s usually evens or thereabouts at this point. They did make me sweat during the FA Cup match against West Ham, but RVP saved my arse, I had a big single on it. They did let me down away against Norwich and at home to West Ham, but I’ll be on them again this Sunday.

  17. Milesey 11 years ago

Anyway i’m off now, so goodluck everyone.

Blackburn and Richie George in the BDO championship i am on tonight.

    Bournemouth v Swindon
    Stevenage v Doncaster
    Gillingham v Port Vale

I will have alook later at exactly what i am going to do with these in terms of a lucky 63, yankee.

GET IN Richie George @6/4 .

Thats twice now richie George has come in for me !

Fantastic, i’m going to have to give my mate some money for these richie george tips for i didn’t even look at the bdo darts championships !

  18. paul 11 years ago

anybody know what price richie george is to win tonight.

  19. Paulo 11 years ago

    Bilbao Vallecano btts
    Wolves Blackburn over 2.5
    Psg Aajaco over 3.5

    Wee £20 treble

  20. paul 11 years ago

im on wolves over 2.5 psg -1 and qpr spurs btts, nice treble before 3 tomorrow n get a decent single on dumbarton – partick btts.

  21. Mr Chris Guy 11 years ago

Yeah Paul I’ve seen bookies cutting odds of btts shortly after you select the teams.

    • paul 11 years ago

chris, corals the worst for price changes drives me insane have too be fast to grab the price nowadays.

  22. The Dane 11 years ago

Been away on a break but are back following Mr. Fixit again and are having 335 units at stake on the recommendations tonight. I need just one to be correct for a 2% profit and will more than double my money if both correct.

    Rhodes / 149 units
    Over 2.5 / 186 units

    The Dane.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

The Dane, tough game to return on but good luck anyway.

    • robert miller 11 years ago

The Dane, youve not put your toe to the line for a wee while been wondering wherr you were

always look out for your numerical views on Pauls selections

  23. Mr Chris Guy 11 years ago

    Bets for tonight

    PSG vs AC AJaccio

£100 PSG to be winning after 30 mins @ 11/10
£60 Time of first goal under 27 mins @ 5/6
£100 Thiago Motta to score anytime @ 5/1
    £20 Thiago Motta first goal @ 14/1
    £20 Thiago Motta last goal @ 14/1

Nothing else for me tonight. Wolves game too close to call. Good luck everyone.

    • Willie McGuire 11 years ago

      Chris

Motta getting sent off so early is a serious boot in the davina mccalls?

Could be a great sending off for the bookies as PSG will have been hammered on the handicaps tonight.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Willie, didn’t realise they were down to 10. Wonder if Ajaccio are worth a punt – and if Mutu is playing for them?

    • Milesey 11 years ago

Mutu and Eduardo up front Mr Fixit, i’m following the market very closely.

    • Milesey 11 years ago

AC Ajaccio are trading @8/1 currently, i’m gonna hit it i think.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Milesey, I didn’t have enough time today to look at the game but saw an interview with Mutu on telly the other night and he was talking about the game. I almost backed him for first goal when I noticed 16-1.

    • Milesey 11 years ago

I want a goal for AC Ajaccio and i’ll get the hell out of here, i got out of Blackburn game at the right time.

    • Willie McGuire 11 years ago

Mutu playing in the hole behind Eduardo.

Some side PSG have especially in forward areas!

This result brings back bad memories of Lyon 4/11 at home to Nancy and doin me for a right few quid on an 8 team accer

      FRENCH FITBA IS MERDE !!!

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Willie, it’s what happens when a team gets a man sent off early. Can’t really legislate for that.

  24. Knottsy 11 years ago

I’m all over man utd at just below evens on sunday. I know its a big grudge match but if man utd were at home to any other team in that league position u would be lucky to get 1/2. Well overpriced for me. The other 9 epl games u could make a case for either team – so many teams hitting peaks and troughs like chelsea, arsenal, norwich, west ham, west brom and more. Could be a day to perm some draws, i could see 4 or 5.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Knottsy, I’m also on Man Utd and have tipped a few draws at games such Stoke, Villa and Sunderland.

  25. gerry 11 years ago

    blackburn to win 3.2

  26. Knottsy 11 years ago

Gonna keep my dough for man utd on Sunday. Never bet much midweek especially on cup games like this week. Probably stick a score on wolves for a wee interest – just a hunch more than anything

  27. Guido 11 years ago

Gonna do Rayo 16/5 and draw Wolves/Blackburn 13/5..singles n double

  28. Knottsy 11 years ago

Manchester double 4/1 @ skybet. Betway returning money on outright bets if murray wins aussie open. Djokovic has to be the bet as cant see federer winning it.

  29. Peter Brown 11 years ago

Rhodes and imbrahimovic 1st goals singles and doubles!

    Good luck

  30. Peter Brown 11 years ago

Yes Rhodes!!! C’mon big zlatan now!!

  31. pedro 11 years ago

Rhodes scored. 9/2 was a good price

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Pedro, Rhodes is always worth a shout.

  32. Craig alves 11 years ago

Lumped on nantes double chance and win at ht then stuck £20 on nimes at 6/1 after 65 mins. End of the day up £30 haha so even money on that game cos my evens challenge falls just before was gonna bank, always the same

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Craig, did you ever find out if that guy was tipping Nantes or try to warn you off them.

  33. al 11 years ago

Get on PSG when price goes 5/2 or 3/1

  34. al 11 years ago

13/5 get your money on quick

  35. Milesey 11 years ago

I’m on the ajaccio win and covered my bet with the draw.

    • Milesey 11 years ago

Wasn’t going to do that game but great heads up on the ten men.

Had a punt on Ajaccio @12

Covered myself with the draw @2.54

Didn’t lose anything there so all good, and made alittle profit.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Milesey, that’s the way to do it. I mentioned Rayo Vallecano earlier so hoping they hold on. Got them at 11-4.

    • Milesey 11 years ago

they won 2-1 so well done there Paul.

  36. Craig alves 11 years ago

Think he was warning against ligue 2 thats why he said the leagues unpredictable, can’t believe nantes lost aswell, if they won id have got over 270 bak but still gt 140 since they gt beat. Risky business tho haha

  37. Mr Chris Guy 11 years ago

Unbelievable result for PSG. So unlucky that Mata got sent off too. Hammered by the bookies tonight. Not good.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Chris, I did OK. Six winning singles, one loser and a winning double including Rhodes first, Rhodes anytime, Wolves draw and Rayo win.

  38. Willie McGuire 11 years ago

    Paul

Started using Soccerway website for stats….as good as you’ll find on the internet and gives all the info required inc. lge top goalscorers, how many pens theyve scored, and the number of times theyve been first goalscorer!!!

quality information, and its where Rayo Vallecano info came from tonight.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Willie, I fancied Rayo on their last few results and Bilbao have been struggling all season.

  39. Kevstar 11 years ago

Tiago Motta to get sent off what price haha??

  40. Mr Chris Guy 11 years ago

Paul that’s good mate well done.

The 40 week draws challenge officially begins tomorrow.

    4 x £6.25 Trebles
    1 x £15 Accumulator

Treble returns a minimum of £250
Accumulator returns a minimum of £3000

I’m sure over the coming months I should get an average of at least one treble win in every 6 attempts which would cover my stakes. Just need one biggie. Even if I only get one Accumulator in 40 attempts that’s a £3000 return for my £1600.

Would love to get a wee accumulator up. I feel confident but know nothing is a guarantee.

    • Mr Fixit 11 years ago

Chris, I’d be surprised if you weren’t in profit with at least two trebles but hopefully more. You need to read Line of the Week tomorrow – guy did three 2-2 draws for a tenner and won more than £20k.
