FAIR to say it’s been a rubbish week – a combination of little time, poor cards and even poorer selections has conspired against me but hoping to get back.on track with a late night Brazilian.
PAYSANDU v GOIAS (11.15pm)
Interesting game this one as two teams go head to head with plenty to play for but at opposite ends of the table.
Hosts Paysandu have been on a dire run but have harvested 6 valuable points from their last 5 games (3 draws, 1 win, 1 loss) which sees them potentially leapfrogging out of the relegation places and above Juventude into 16th spot.
This recent resurgence has also seen an upturn of team goals with the last 3 home fixtures seeing 1, 2 and 3 for Paysandu although they’ll need everything they have as Goias come to town.
The visitors sit a comfortable 2nd place and can close the gap on leaders Fotraleza to just 4 points with a win tonight; they are in fine fettle and have netted 2-2-0-2-3-0-2-2-3 team goals in their last 9 consecutive games.
With the last 2 H2Hs finishing with 2-1 scorelines, I think there’s every chance of a bit of action as both teams try to squeeze out a result in what could be a great game with some good value:
